WTF!? I think Richard and Cale just looked cute together! OMG WRYYYYY?

Please notice the utter lack of anything resembling fwooshing Cale for "Dick"ing! I mean, "rawr?" That was absolutely one of the most cute things Richard's ever said! He's staring to look innocent! Deadly, but innocent!

Dickzilla! I have to agree, it's been a while since Cale made a Dick joke... and I find it a little ironic how the tables have turned and now Benny is asking Cale how he finds humor in certain things. Or maybe she's surprised that he's starting to really enjoy and find the humor in all of Richard's antics.

Also, anyone notice Felbunny having a little sip of some Purple (Smurf) drink? Mmmm, makes me in the mood for kool-aid.

I partially saw that comming. there was no way that Legara would be based on Emerald City.

Is it just me, or is Pella staring OUT of the third panel? It is a bit unnerving.

I'm not too bothered by Richard letting Cale call him Dick. Each time it happened, Richard was less offended. Richard got to the point where he ignored "Dick on a kite", then even came up with "Dick Roll'd", himself. It's a non-issue, now. I still think Richard hasn't changed much and that it's more a matter that he never was the way a lot of people thought he was.

I think Benny is the one who is acting weird. Why is she acting so much like Cale in the last two panels? Someone else already mentioned the facepalm, but why isn't she laughing, too? She's was the 2nd most evil character in the group and always liked Richard's humor. Has she gone really soft?. There have been some signs of that. She let Cale be blissfully ignorant of the war machines that they were building, for example. EDIT: I missed Rae-Rae's comment -- he/she seems to have reacted similarly to me. I think Felbunny has a piece of the city, but I don't know why. It almost looks like it's jammed into the bunny's mouth, but the bunny doesn't look like it was trying to eat it.

So who created Oz? Was it the smurfs? If Oz looked real thanks to a trick of light and magic, who provided that magic? Are smurfs magical?

If Pella is supposed to be a great warrior and member of a distinguished clan, shouldn't she eventually get beyond her fascination with dolls? I realize she is a small thing too, but come on!


I think that's just what she usually does. Usually her entire body is facing out, though, so her neck isn't normally twisted so much. Her eyes are usually more open, too. I've been a little annoyed by the fact she does it so much.


I looked back at some old pages earlier today, and to be honest, I liked them better. For example, look at all of the jokes in page 6. I think the strip has switched to fewer, but bigger and more elaborate, jokes. Another difference is that the characters used to overact a lot more then they do now. I'm not sure where I stand on that. Of course, everyone's tastes are going to be different.

And I can't say I laugh at Cale's dick jokes. But Richard tolerates it, making it likely that the joke will be used in a different context, about a 50-75 pages from now.

Those poor smurfs, I was hoping for a good fight with legara. However I guess this is more in keeping with the comic's style, and Richard fanservice is always nice.

It's official, Richard is being woobified.

I also agree that Benny's reaction is a little out of character, not so much the facepalm at the end as the open horror on her face in the second-to-last panel.

The expression on felbunny's face in the last panel is priceless though.

That's right, show nothing is sacred, nothing is safe from the might of Richard. First Oz then Smurfs...

Pella is holding a small innocent creature out in front of her with her mouth half open. I half expect a Glop sound next page.

Cale has to notice Richard's new attitude eventually. I dont think he's ever really been touching Richard when he did a Dick joke, always making sure he was by Benny or far enough away (out of earshot, maybe) not to be killed. He learned that very early on.

Richard is adorable though. Ive been waiting to see him walk like a zombie for a while now. Didnt expect it to be through a Smurf village. XD




In other news, the last two comics seem to be delving into my family life.
First, my grandmothers Wizard of Oz obsession. Now my parents' (when they first met and the early years) obsession of Smurfs.
Im absolutely loving this.

Meanwhile, in a Legaran outpost...

Soldier 1: "Well then, we don't have a choice, stop the invasion."
Soldier 2: "Even if that means we have to order more provisions from the capital sir? Waiting for this group is proving to be quite costly to the war effort."
Soldier 1: "Don't you sass me soldier! It's not my fault that Aelloon has the hots for that green thing with the impressive cleavage!"

It would be entertaining to see that the invasion has already begun when Cale & Co return from that little side quest, but time will tell.

WTF? Richard does the 'I can seeee youuuu!' dealy at least three times now, but when I point it out everyone's like, 'No, nooo, that's just the way he's drawn in that panel. He's just looking at something offscreen, despite the fact he's half hanging outside the borders, and will have to turn back around to continue a conversation. Yer crazy.'
