Pancakes are good, but better when made with potatoes.
Waffles are ridged pancakes. Better than normal pancakes, not as good as potato pancakes.
French toast is good every once in a while, but too much of it is a bad thing. And I've had undercooked French toast. It wasn't pleasant.
Crepes are an excellent dessert for a brunch. I wouldn't consider them much of a breakfast food, but they're still delicious. They get my vote.

It's hard to choose, seeing as how I really enjoy all four of these things. But I had to go with "pancakes" in the end. I love making them, and there's so many different kinds you can make! Yummm...

Again, mine would be made of potatoes. With some fresh maple syrup, or even a little applesauce (cinnamon? Why yes, I'd love some). Delicious.

Waffles topped with vanilla ice cream and triple berry sauce, then absolutely buried in whipped cream topped lightly with cocoa powder. It's not healthy, but it's the best breakfast EVAR.

No, waffles are crunchier and made differently.

That's what you would expect in an
average crepe.

You don't pick up a waffle to eat it dingus, you use a fork.
Grym
Aug 23 2008, 02:09 AM
And how are you going to slice up whipped cream? It'd all fall off anyways. A crepe is a much more efficient and delicious competitor.

I love me some crepe but its not really breakfast for me, so I would have picked pancake, but went with waffles.
After mass producing 650 pancakes I must say they've lost their luster for me

Damn, that's a tough choice.
Like someone else said, it really depends on your mood. Plus they're basically the same anyway, and anything you can do with one of them (adding chocolate chips, stuffing them with fruit, topping them with whipped cream or ice cream), you can do with all of them.
I'll have to go with pancakes though - just for ease of preparation.
I love pancakes. I have several different recipes. I like adding chocolate or cinnamon chips, pecan bits, and having them with whipped cream. I have a hearty oatmeal/applesauce pancake recipe. I have an orange pancake recipe. Buttermilk pancakes topped with apples, cranberries and raisins that have been stewed in butter and sugar...mmmm. Also try making "stacked" pancakes: buckwheat pancakes that you stack up as you cook 'em, and as you're stacking them, you generously butter each one and give it a coating of pure maple sugar. It melts together and soaks them.
Waffles, I can't make 'em. I tried once and it was a disaster, plus I never want to clean that mess again. When the craving hits, nothing's better than good old Waffle House waffles.
Also, you can take regular frozen waffles, toast them, then top them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, sprinkle on some cinnamon sugar, drizzle on some honey, add sliced almonds and whipped cream, and voila -dessert.
Same with crepes. I don't have the proper pan, but you can buy them premade and stuff them with whatever you want. They're basically a thin pancake anyway - just fancier.
French toast, same with pancakes. You can do so much with them. I love making French toast sandwiches stuffed with sweetened cream cheese and strawberry or raspberry jam, then topped with whipped cream.
I also try my hand at making my own syrups. I have a recipe for cinnamon cream syrup, one for orange syrup, I make syrup out of the liquid I drain from frozen rhubarb....
Dammit now I'm hungry!

Tough choice between Pancakes and Crepes.
First, I hate the french with a passion that burns like a siphilitic whore's piss.
Second, the two most delicious breakfasts of my life were: Corn pancakes with bits of bacon and melted cheese, two over-meduim eggs, and a delicious red sauce (I don't know what it was, exactly). The other one was two crepes; one with scrambled eggs, chorizo, cheese, and ham, with hollandiese sauce and chopped cilantro, the second crepe was strawberry, mango, banana, and blueberry mixed with yougurt and Leche Lechera.
But in the end crepes won out, because I made them myself.

ooo competition is tough! I still say pancakes as you have so many more options in ways to make the pancakes to make you happy!
