Okay, so I've been reading LFG a lot lately and last night when I saw a new page, I clicked on it, had a few good laughs and signed off.
Tonight when I got home from work, I wanted to read it again, only the page was different!

I'm kinda like, "WTF?!"
I know I'm not imagining this as if you click on the archive for the most recent storyline (Issue 6), you'll see the page that was taken down (the page where Richard does an awesome Gandalf imitation

) and replaced as the most recent one with Richard making the "firewall".
Anyone know why they changed it?

Ever weird! It's a totally different comic now. And the previous one doesn't even come up in the Archives!

Wha?
But the original was awesome!
I even tried to find it in my temp files. No luck.
The new page looks like it's supposed to be page 175, as it seems to logically follow the page we read last night.

And damn you for beating me to it.
Interestingly, the thumbnail in the archives is still the old page.

Maybe because the gandalf imitation was a copyright violation of Tolkien's work I guess, so they had to take it down and put up this one.
Or maybe they just hated the other one a lot for some reason.

It happens sometimes. An artist doesn't like how he/she did the previous thing and removes it.
I highly doubt it was a direct violation to the Tolkien things. Yeah, a WARLOCK was saying Gandalf's line, but it's not like it hasn't paradoied other movies before:
"THIS IS SOOBA"= 300
Ghost Richard dancing with Pella and singing= "Ghosts"

Simpler explanation is apparently I fucked something up. Don't know what happened but you're seeing Monday's LFG instead of Thursday's. This does NOT mean you're getting another new new strip for Monday though, but I've contacted our web genius to correct the situation.

Like I said, epoch fail. Well, that is if there using linux....you're not using linux are you?
Sayuri Kajira
Aug 15 2008, 05:39 PM
No, an epic fail would be to give away the entire ending. Thus-- making reading any further a complete bore. So, it was just a minor failure. Not epic. Not a total trainwreck.

Not Epic. Epoch. It's a pun.

Epoch? Did I miss an new entry in the urban dictionary? You're gonna have to explain the pun.
Lord of the dance
Aug 15 2008, 06:38 PM
An epoch is a period of time. This was a time-period failure.
Legendaryratboy
Aug 15 2008, 06:42 PM
an epoch is the same as an era, an era lasts roughly about 25K years... I think this was slightly more short-lived than that.
Sayuri Kajira
Aug 15 2008, 06:44 PM
Well, here comes that feeling of being educationally inadequate.

Regardless, the pun was just... lame. And no more frowning about it. We got a sneak-peek and we should be jumping out of our shoes.

Aug 15 2008, 06:46 PM
Technically an epoch is any time period that has a distinct and unique characteristic. That said the example from xkcd where it originated of a program which crashes on dates before a set date is more appropriate.

Aug 15 2008, 06:48 PM
Explained to the idiot. Okay, done, over with. Back to people complaining why it wasn't left up to continue to be seen.

Aug 15 2008, 06:50 PM
Because the extra Pella awesomeness might melt the internet of course.
Legendaryratboy
Aug 15 2008, 06:52 PM
Because of the same reason people complain if the comic isn on at 10:00 PM the day before it's supposed to be up, they're spoiled.
Sayuri Kajira
Aug 15 2008, 06:52 PM
Too much Pella. Not enough Cale. End of story.
Lord of the dance
Aug 15 2008, 06:53 PM
Could be. They put the Cale-heavy strip back for Cale lovers.
Sayuri Kajira
Aug 15 2008, 06:55 PM
We are not 'lovers'... (yet)... we prefer to call ourselves a 'passionate fanbase.' Of course, this borderlines many various personality disorders but... hey... at least we're loyal.

It was strange, a friend and I were talking over the phone about the latest comic, quoting it and stuff, but neither of us knew what the other was talking about O.o. So we both went back, reread the comics too each other, and realized they were different. We sent them too each other and then we realized that the one ii was reading was actually the next in the strip.

Hey, shush up now!! Most of us didn't read Monday's when it was up for that short period of time, so let's not "let things spiral out of control" and spoil it for everyone else. I enjoy these comics, very much so, and I like them to be suprises, not bits at a time.
Rip Van Ishmael
Aug 16 2008, 07:31 PM
So where does that put us who were foolish enough to look at it when it was accidentally put up, huh?
What if some of us who witnessed the Screw-Update like to be surprised when the comic comes out, and no longer have anything to look forward to sunday evening or monday?
What about us?
DID YOU THINK ABOUT THAT, YOU SELFISH...uhh....WOMBAT?!

Yet you still bitch.
