Anybody know what our favorite bass was singing this time? I'm clueless.

Go and watch Ghost. The whole scene with pottery and music is from there.

Beat me to it.
Yeah, it's that old Jerry Zucker movie from 1990, with Patrick Swayze as the dead ghost husband and Demi Moore as his widow. I liked it when I was a teenager, so sue me. *shrug* It's a bit cheesy, but ok. After Ghost, a lot of movies suddenly featured ghosts, go figure... although the whole "Guy dies (it's always a guy) and returns from the dead in the form of someone else/an angel/a dog/a goldfish[*] to protect his loved one(s)" plot has been done to death since time immemorial.

The pottery scene was heavily parodied in one of those Leslie Nielsen comedy flicks, I can't remember which one (sorry, I can't stand that actor)... Nielsen's done such a lot of those comedies, he played Detective Frank Drebin on the Police Squad series and in The Naked Gun movies, and starred in other parody movies like... *consults IMDB.com*... Dracula: Dead and Loving It, 2001: A Space Travesty and this year Superhero Movie. dry.gif

Incidentally, The Naked Gun movies were directed by David Zucker, who according to the Internet Movie Database is the brother of Jerry Zucker. huh.gif Interesting coincidence, eh? Not sure what exactly I shall make of that...

[*] I made that last one one up. Could you tell? wink.gif

Hmm...
Isn't that the movie where at one time he meets an older ghost that teaches him to touch thing?
Or I'm thinking about a different movie.
Wesley Foxx
That.

Now I'm trying to think of what song would fit him next.

Love Me Dead sounds like a nice fit. >.> Especially talking about the enrichard Pella.

No, it is... I mean, yes it is that movie.

Heh, you replied while I was editing my above posting. I hate it when that happens. rolleyes.gif *grins wrily*
The Subway Ghost was Vincent Schiavelli. Whenever I see Ghost, I know I've seen that guy before, he has such a weird face made to play freaky roles, but I can never remember in which movie.

According to IMDB.com, he even gueststarred on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and had a small role on Bladerunner??? And on one episode of The X-Files in 1995! Wait... the episode is "Humbug", the one with the circus folk and the freak show... Yes, THAT is where I know his face from!

Weird thing is, that movie is older then me...And I can't seem to recall where I've seen it...

Now I feel old... mellow.gif

I remember Star Trek: The Next Generation when it first came on TV, back when i was in school. I remember discussing Deep Space Nine with my friend when the first rumours came out. Heck, the year the X-Files started here in Germany, one year later than in the U.S., I had already started college! And I was always among the youngest in my circle of friends. sad.gif

My circle of friends is comprised mainly of girls my age.
And when i said that the movie is older then I am, I meant that that movie was shot even before my parents even though of concieving me.

Yeah....That song made me feel gay.
I'll be back after I made sure my pen*s didn't shrink.

Someone should call Dave Mitchell. With the awesomeness he brought to Dick Roll'd, a Richardized version of the Righteous Brothers would be perfect.

Hmm, that has serious potential to kick ass or absolutely bomb...

Wow...major pop culture miss. tongue.gif

It's "Unchained Melody" and the whole pottery thing was in Ghost (movie). You should watch it, it's good...corny...but good.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought this! After I got done snickering at the page that was my immediate thought.

Hey, wasn't that X-Files episode the one where Gillian Anderson (Scully) eats the bug? I mean, she's supposed to make it look like she ate it for the scene, but I watched one of those "behind the scenes" shows and they said she actually, really did eat it. Ewww. As soon as the shot had been taken, you could hear the camera crew making "yuk" noises. Duchovny was just standing there staring at her like "Wait...did you just eat that roach for real?" smile.gif

I knew it as a Ghost reference once I saw her making the pot, but for the life of me I couldn't remember the song without actually hearing it. Probably because I don't like that song anyway. I'm usually really good with knowing songs popular in the '80s. I can name a lot of them (and the artist) after hearing only the first second of the music.

That's the one. They went to all the trouble of setting it up so she could fake it, meanwhile the other actor who was a genuine circus-performer-type-person was eating the real things by the handful, so she couldn't be bothered with the elaborate version since they were obviously not doing him any harm.

This is why people are making fun of that other actress who is getting digitally enhanced because she can't be bothered not waxing for a couple of weeks while other actors do things like this.

I think it was a cricket or locust, not a roach. Locusts can actually be eaten, although usually people do not eat them raw and alive, but roasted (honey glazing optional).

The episode with the thousands of roaches was "War of the Coprophages", another funny "holiday episode". I saw some behind the scenes where they said that while most of the roaches were of course CGI, they actually had some live roaches on set for close-ups and stuff, and a few escaped and they still found some weeks later. On even crawl across the camera's lens during the episode.

Enough with the "old" comments. I'm older than the ORIGINAL Star Trek. Hmm, maybe I'm old enough to be Richard's father. Naah.

I never liked Ghost very much, but that particular song/scene was quite appropriate for Pella channeling Richard. happy.gif The song tends to get on my nerves. tongue.gif

I'd like to hear Dave sing it too, but whate gets me is this... as I read the page and listened to the song at the same time, I just couldn't really imagine that song being sung in a Richard voice... I dunno, it kinda bugs me. But it would be cool, nevertheless. tongue.gif
