Just saw an addition in the LFG wiki page to the Richard description speculating that Richard's name and profession might be a reference to a stunt man who went by the name Richard Warlock as well as Dick Warlock. I figure it's a stretch, but I thought I'd throw out the question of whether it's true or not.

It's Wiki. Unless that specific portion of the entry was submitted by Sohmer or Lar, then it's pure speculation. So far, Sohmer hasn't said anything definitive on the origin of Richard's character, aside from the obvious. Personally, I think he's named after the Richard from the Sword of Truth series, not so much as a shadow character but as an homage, but that's just my guess. Don't see me going on Wiki trying to make it a fact.

I myself figure the big thing was picking a non-warlock, that is run of the mill real life, name.

I'm sure it's pure coincidence that the name they picked happens to have Dick as a nickname. It couldn't be that they planned that as a gag all along.
