If you had the choice to have any ONE power what would it be? Explain or be smited!
The Lone David
I GOTTA go with teleportation here, even though Jumper was such a mediocre movie, it made me realize that being able to instantly transport yourself wherever you wanted to go is quite possibly the coolest thing ever.
Imperator
I would want to the ability to control time, space, and energy.

Also you need the choice to be an overlord in the third set of choices.
hhh221
i want time travel, besides, that would alow me to create an army of myself
Imperator
Hhh, how would you avoid the time paradoxes?

i want power over life and death.... . and fire! tongue.gif
the last templar
i voted other:
control of fire was a close 4th
flight was a close 3rd
teleportation was a close 2nd
but my number one would have to bewhat Remy LeBeau has, a type of energy manipulation; besides being able to steal just about anything.
Darkhawk
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with David. My answer was teleportation.....fuck having to drive anywhere. Or fly for half a day to get to Hawaii. Or not be able to see people because it takes too much money. Also.....lol stealing money.......

Yeah, then flight would be second. Always wanted to fly.

Time travel I thought about, but I'm too much of an idiot and would keep screwing up timelines when I want to change something to what I prefer.

Soooooooooooooo, ice power gets third. I've always liked the idea of being able to control and create ice/water. biggrin.gif

My brother said he'd use telekensis then just MOVE his body with his mind....so he'd basically be flying AND still destroy shit with his mind. Rather smart of him. Cheater!

1. Fire Creation and Control is pretty rad but you'd probably get yourself into more trouble than it's worth. So no thanks.

2. Super Strength would be handy for a lot of things but it also has it's cons. You would pretty much break anything and everything you use because at first you don't know how to control it. Which would attract attention from certain people.

3. Ice Control is basically redundant. See #9.

4. Flight. While I would love to fly, see #11. Also, people are going to see you, no matter what you do. And for me, that's a no-no.

5. Telekineses. The ability to move matter/objects with your mind would be pretty handy. But it would be very hard to not have people notice. It's doable but then again, if you really wanted to use this power, then you will be noticed. You could also technially fly anywhere you'd want because you are able to move yourself with your mind.

6. Telepathy. The ability to read a person's mind. It could be interesting but it wouldn't really get me anywhere other than really screwed up in the head because of what people think about. Especially if you weren't able to control who or how you were able to read people's minds.

7. Earth (ground?) Control. Wouldn't this kinda fit under telekineses? Again, you're gonna get noticed if you really wanted to abuse this power.

8. Air/wind Control. Kinda fits under telekineses also but you could probably do a lot more with this power than with other ones. This power has the potential to let you "fly" also because you control the air/wind around you so, you could make yourself float anywhere you'd like.

9. Water Control. Again, telekineses covers this. But with this power you could also control the temperature of water. Therefore, you could make/control ice as well with this. While I would love to have this power, you're gonna get noticed.

10. Mind Control. Probably the most powerful power to have if it weren't limited to 50 people. Well, maybe still yet be the most powerful because if you control the right 50 people. You could do/get away with a lot.

11. Teleportation is probably much better than having the ability to fly, but I can see some downsides to it. Example: You teleport to an exact spot where a human being is; that sounds pretty messy and painful. Also, you could teleport to somewhere just before getting hit by a car/buss/truck/train/airplane/big heavy object and die. But still, I would probably choose this power.

12. Summon Undead Minions. As cool as that sounds, I really don't want to know what those minions would do after being summoned since you never said that I had control over them, just the power to summon them to my vacinity. That could be painful.

13. See #12.

14. See #12.

15. Transformation. I'm assuming by this power you could transform into anything you want. But would that mean you can survive while being that object? That sounds painful. But on the brightside, you transform into another person or an animal; which does sound like it has it's advantages. You could definitly sneak/not get noticed a lot more with this power.

16. Invisibility. I mistakenly picked this in the poll instead of teleportation, but it does have it's uses. Although, the downside to this would be that your only invisible to the naked eye. Meaning that lazers, sonar, and other things don't have naked eyes would be able to detect you. Which sucks and isn't "true" invisibility, I guess.

17. Time Manipuation. Which could potentially be the most powerful other than mind control because if you are to separate yourself from the manipulations you do, then you could get away with a lot of stuff. But I guess the downside would be that you screw up the fabric of time.

18. Time Travel. Same with #17, if you are able to overcome the paradoxes your power creates, then it could be really powerful.

19. Procephy (actually that's incorrect since prophecy is the ability to predict the future but not see it). Being able to see the future. Kinda ties in with Telepathy but not exactly. This power could be useful but if you see what you do in the future and change to avoid something or get involved in something, wouldn't then every time you see the future, it would always be different? Then you wouldn't be able to see how to avoid bad situations that would pop. So not exaclty the most ideal thing to have.
Blue
In all seriousness, i'd bake an apple pie.
Richard'seviltwin
the one i pick...the do stuff with your mind one...yeah....im not attempting to spell it with the skills i have...dude with that power...you can do all the other powers (except probably the summoning one, teleportation, and the time travel one)

*high squeeky voice* I AM A GNOME MAGE CALLED TORIX ON WORLD OF WARCRAFT....FEAR ME! i so want teh power
Metsik
Time traveling would probably be the most powerful ability but also the most dangerous one. You could easily change the past through this and maybe take a wrong step and your parents would never be born, thus you wouldn't either. And that problem wouldn't only exist when going back in time, if you go forward in time you might also cause an event that would make you go back in time and mess it up again.

So I'd settle for telekinesis. Of course it depends on how powerful the ability could be. If you can use almost unlimited amounts of energy in it then I would like it a lot. Also what you would be able to control matters as well. I would like to be able to control full objects and single particles as well. With that you could try creating life (setting up the particles in a way that they are in a living organism and see if it starts living), heal wounds, heat things up, cool things down etc. You could have a barrier around you at all times and so on.

Also maybe being immortal would be an awesome power as well. And I don't mean immortal so that you will live through anything because that wouldn't be too good. (Your solar system explodes and then you will just float there for the next 10 billion years?) But maybe something like what was mentioned in the movie "A Man From Earth". Simply you don't change in physical appearance past the young adult age and live for tens of thousands of years. You can still die to wounds but "permanent" wounds (or probably wounds that heal longer than a human's lifetime) will heal over time and so will diseases. Would be nice.
Sayuri Kajira
I want one ability: to be able to melt the frontal lobe of anyone I wanted to. That's it. Nothing more and nothing less. I wouldn't really be a villain so much as just doing it for 1. my own amusement and 2. Simply because doing so would benefit me in the end. I'd still lead a normal, daily life-- I'd just be able to force those people who piss me off to leade the lives of a walking vegetable.
Verbose
Telepathy.

Because it only stands to reason that if you can hear their private thoughts, you'll be able to influence their private thoughts.
Spade
Invisibility. I would be able to sneak into places I really shouldn't be, I could "haunt" people, spy on people, and steal stuff. I would be the ultimate ninja. ULTIMATE!
JacobChulainn
The power of super luck.

Go up against Superman and a kryptonite meteor crashes into his skull, spreading his brains over the pavement, etc.

edit: My little brother would choose "other" too. He wants an infinite regeneration-ish thing. Think of all the things you could do with that! Jump off a cliff.. Cut your arm off and beat people with it.. Play the Ultimate Headless Horseman come Halloween (hehe).. die, dying would be fun..

Screw pain. >.> Of course, (I always wondered) if it regenerated everything... than why does Wolverine smoke? o.O

Time Control.

"Holy shit I just fucked up! Wait a second..." Turn back time and un fuck your misstake! Hello Lottery Wins! I think I'll gather a few more Gazillions on the IT-Bubble before it bursts. Wolverine smokes because he can. He knows that the tabacco and whatever shit they put into those cigars won't hurt him since he just regenerates any damage it does to him. So he can go on enjoying it for forever.

Edit: You know? I think telekinesis is looking better and better now that I think about it. I would go for that. O.o

Can I eat everyone's brains and steal their powers? biggrin.gif Nom nom.

Heat vision, Bitch.

I picked other for the sole purpose of heat vision, because that would be an awsome power. Shooting high intensity directed microwaves out of your eyes isn't exactly subtle, but you could just fry any reporter that came buzzing at your door.

Also, you could melt people's frontal lobes.

Yep. And that makes screwing with time much more fun.

I chose time control, because how do we know if there is such a thing as paradox? Also, would grant you the ability to both save lives, and kill them. Easy to find out anything, and if used correctly, allows you to travel anywhere. But honestly, I'd like both Time control and manipulation.
Vegos
Either mind control or power over gravity.

First we have to theorize whether we want to be seen. I've taken out that factor for most of the assumptions here. However, if you do not want to be seen then fire (depending on whether you can control the smoke that comes out as a byproduct) is going to be no, super strength way no, ice no (since pure water is transparent), flight no, earth maybe depending on how you use it, etc. etc. (Not going through the full list here)

Fire creation and control - Supposing you get to control fire, light and heat energy. So I guess you get to control heat energy over 525Celcius (977 Fahrenheit). Of course, this depends on whether you have to make the fire near you, or if you could make it out of your body. I suppose that it's out of your body, but still, heat transfers upwards and is hard to control. It'll cause mostly death and destruction unless you're cooking or something. The nifty part of it is you can control light energy. I would pick a better choice.

Super Strength - Too messy, you're gonna break stuff here and there and get sued like hell. Even if you have super strength doesn't mean you won't get caught with poison or an explosion.

Ice control - See fire, cold temperatures with water that can soak into objects can cause almost as much damage as fire.

Flight - One of the most not messy powers. However, as a lot of people suffer from acrophobia (fear of heights) then for some people I guess this is a no. And yes, I am slightly prone to acrophobia so no no for me. Also, you might as well use control over air.

Telekineses - I will probably pick this. Not messy, you get to control the kinetic energies of the stuff around you.

Mind reading. - Might as well mind control and have them tell you all their deepest darkest secrets.

Contol over the earth - One of the not so messy ones without temperature effects or unnecessary damage to its surroundings. Strong, durable, and you can control the metals in it too. Earth is quite a nice element to control.

Control over the air - Also quite a good basic element, but rather pick telekinesis.

Contol over water - Utility is depending on whether you can control the water in someone else. This is, though, the only one that will allow you to go underwater except for maybe telekinesis.

Mind control, 50 people max - Oh yeah this rocks? 50 people, just control 50 powerful people or a squadron of authorities and bam! You're all free to get whatever you want.

Teleportation, Fuck gas! - I left in the last part for this. Unfortunately, gas is your utter demise. If by some chance you don't teleport into a solid or liquid matter, gas will still be there and create internal hemorrhage. No thanks.

Sumnmon undead minions - It's quite handy, since you get an army of unkillable zombies as your guard (Assuming you can control them). They will go forth and do your bidding and stuffs.

Summon Demon minions - See undead

Summon minions from cards - See undead, though this one actually has one more perk to it : All it requires is a small deck of cards whereas undead requires corpses and demon prob requires rituals.

Transformation - You will have to transform into the same mass as your are as you are now. You can't compress yourself, or risk the chance that your blood will stop or blood vessels will blow up, not to mention your bones will break. So it'll just be another oddly shaped humanoid. So no.

Invisibility - Better than transformation. Of course... you'll have to go naked most probably and keep finding new clothes if your old ones you left somewhere got taken away. No thanks.

Time control, Speed up and slow down - Not so messy as the second time controlling option. However, you won't be able to hear sounds as well, as if you speed up you can barely make out a sound through all the sounds coming out, and if you slow it down all you'll here is rumbling.

Time control, go back and forth through time - Chaos theory's explained multiple times through this thread, not repeating it.

See the future - If you can see the future, and if you act on it you probably will see another future. Then you may or may not act on it again. Not very messy.

I pick mind control.

How can he enjoy it when it doesn't affect him at all.

I chose other. My superpower - wait for it - would be the ability to summon genies. I haven't chosen my superpower to be all superpowers, though I can technically wish for all the powers from a genie. Other people may well choose telekenisis or fire or summoning Demons, but I can just say, "Hey, Mr. Genie, I wish for all the powers," and bingo! Instant God-dom.

I credit Robert Moran for inspiring this cop-out.

He can enjoy pissing off other people when puffing the smoke into their face.

I mean, a person getting a whiff of cigarette smoke won't exactly die of lung cancer the next day, but if it's one of those antismoking extremists it's fun pissing them off.

Which brings me to the power I already have: I can piss off anyone, whenever I want. It's an art form.
Mork
Undead and Demon summoning are a tie for me, but i picked undead. Anyone here have an idea how many corpses are in our planet? biggrin.gif

Transformation was 2nd for me, but i thought that having things under my controll is better and more fun "Sir, Godzilla is attacking!"

Time travel is 3rd after i thought about all the things that could happen after i changed time

It does. Just not as much.

He's pretty normal in how stuff effects him. It's just that for a lot of things that do small increments of damage (drinking, smoking) his healing factor tend to outpace it. It's difficult for him to get drunk but he can do it. Smoking gives him a nicotine high, it's just not a big one for very long. It's why he smokes a lot. Plus, it's an acquired taste. He smokes a lot of cigars and you come to like the taste, if nothing else.

Apparently you can't enjoy cigars/smoking without immediately getting hurt by it? (Yes, I've never smoked cigars/cigarettes bfore.) If not, then he probably does it out of habit and since it doesn't hurt him in the long run, he has more of a reason to do it.

Invulnerability does not mean super strength. It means you can get hit a lot but sustain no damage.

See, if you had the ability to travel through time... it seems a lot more complicated than slowing the passage of time(relative of course. People would seem to creep along while to them it's normal speed) thus in my mind at least, you'd be able to do both.

I'd have to pick it, JUST to create a paradox. Only because i'd want to see what would happen. (Granted I wouldn't be stupid enough to kill my own parent. I'd do something better, i'd kill the parent of whoever helped me gain my powers or directed my life in the direction of the powers.)

Maybe that's why I don't have super powers yet >.> I sabotaged my own ability to control time and space!
