*pats* It's okay. Just go back through the archives and stare at some nice pictures of Benny.
It figures that Richard would be on trial for "doing good". I wonder how Sohmer's going to wiggle out of revealing our favorite warlock's true motives.

The prosecution mentioned that Richard's evil had been unsurpassed for generations. A hint at Richie's age, perhaps?

Heh, Hctib is all nicely bundled up in the last panel. XD
Love the shock the demons display at hearing Richard hasn't killed any of his companions. XD
Also strictly, that isn't true. The demon said he was travelling with them and hasn't murdered any single one of them, without specifying anything like 'since he'd started travelling with them'. So technically, he's murdered at least one of his companions, i.e. Cale.
But I do have to wonder how he'll wiggle out of the bunny love he clearly displays. The thing CRIED when he was banished, for crying out loud!
Also, there's a mistake in panel four.
"Let the prosecution now make it's opening statement."
'It' is only used with an apostrophe and an 's' when it's an abbreviation for 'it is'. As a possessive pronoun, as it's clearly meant to be here, it should only be 'its'.
I really don't like nitpicking like this but considering that the issue will get published on paper....

Actually, the apostrophe there denotes ownership. The way it's used there is to say the opening statement belongs to the prosecutor. ''Let the prosecution now make [the prosecution's] opening statement'', only replacing the noun with a pronoun so it isn't redundant.

Anyway, I object!
Upon first meeting Cale, Richard did most certainly FOOM! him to ashes and through his continued sadistic influence, has helped to shape the young innocent lad into a more ruthless warrior, who has, in return, pledged to Richard to "return to Legarion and cut a swathe of death and destruction, the likes of which have never been before seen, through the King's legion and their dragons."
Under the circumstances, Richard could only choose the greater of two evils.

In other news, for some reason panel 4 made me laugh out loud. I think it's the imp's nose. It's utterly hilarious to me.
I hope the fact that the dragon judge suddenly sprouted tentacles means this whole charade is not really real but only exists in a mind-screw dimension of Richard's own making. It's Richard's guilty subconscious speaking, reminding him that he lost his immoral compass.

Crazy theory time!
Richard killed everybody already. Cale, Krunch, Benny, Sooba, Tim, the Archmage, everybody. He decided it was such fun that he put in for one of his favours-owed from some malevolent dark god and had them brought back to life, so he could take his time making their lives miserable before killing them tagain. Then maybe next time he'll make them puppets. And then, he'd set them up in some sort of crazy Battle Royale death match and have the winner eat the losers before killing him/her/it.
