Interesting that the judge is one of the dragons. Hm. I wonder if the whole thing is just Richard's hallucination, or if it's real. If the former, I can see Richard hallucinating the various demons, but why would he hallucinate one of the humanoid dragons from Kethenecia as judge? And if it's the latter, and Richard is stranded in the glowy Otherplace where the archmage and his dragon ally are sitting watching reality like TV, why are the imp and the various demons there too?? I do hope it's just a hallucinatory realm.

Although I must admit I didn't expect the imp. After the judge said "will the defendant's counsel step forward" and before I scrolled down to see the last row of panels, I expected Richard's defence lawyer to be CALE. Seriously.

Although now I wonder if the counsel for the prosecution will be Cale. "Your Honour, when I first met the accused, he incinerated me with little provocation. Off with his head!"

If a clone counts as a separate person, then it's murder. Otherwise it's suicide. But then, some societies count(ed) suicide as a sin/crime, too.

We don't really know what he is on trial for yet though. The judge just asks 'How do you plead?'. There is no mention as to whether this is related to his murder/suicide. They (the writers) may just have been getting the other Richards out of the way before moving onto this court session. Knowing Richard though, the general theme of the trial will probably be death.

Also, the courtroom looks more like it's filled with aliens than fantasy creatures. I suppose time/space continuum plot lines lead to more sci-fi characters.

which would really mean that benny saying only he can get himself out, which would be right to say that Richard's either a sleep or this plane is feeding off what he thinks would happen to him, and besides little bitch in this realm... that makes no sense unless he somehow transported him self or is thinking what would happen to himself if he was ina court trial predicament..

And speaking of clothing, Richard really doesn't look good in orange. Not his color at all.

Of all the things I expected, this was the least in the list... Which show how pure genius the comic makers are.

Now I know why the judge dragon reminded me of that Next Generation episode with Q putting Mankind on trial! It's the weirdly shaped cylindrical headdress the dragon wears! I swear, it's the same (or very similar) to the one Q wore. And both are wearing very similar costumes: Q had red and black robes with black cuffs and red gloves, and the cloth from the black headdress covering his neck and throat too; the dragon's costume looks almost identical except his outfit it is cut more like a skintight catsuit with a belt than robes. But he wears red gloves, too, because the dragon's skin is green, not red.

I couldn't find a screenshot from the actual episode, but I found (weirdly) a picture of a Q action figure in the "judge" outfit from the episode in question.

The similarities between Q and this dragon are too obvious to be coincidence. Lar did this on purpose. Nice homage.

I believe it was my brother who informed me that the most important this in WoW was the size of your shoulder pads.....if this is so than richards rock and he is sad without them. =(

Last thing I was expecting (sans the first panel, that was pretty obvious), but when it happened I was somehow not surprised. So, this is how Richard will get his 'soul searching' done in the Plane of Suck. But then again, I don't think this is the Plane of Suck. Given its occupants and proceedings (pun intended), I think this is the Demonic Plane Richard banished Hctib to the last time we heard the squeaky little freak.

It makes sense at least. Aside from this being a mere hallucination on Richards part, where else would he end up full of demons and Hctib? Last time Little Bitch got booted out of Richard's sight, he was sent there. He probably complained. Then when Richard shows up....
