Hi There! This is actually my first post onto the forums but after reading the post on the LFG website about recommended comics, I thought I would recommend one of my own. I am a long time reader of comics, and for the last 2 years have been reading everything and everything I can get my hands on. After seeing that The Secret War was recommended I thought I would bring up two of the best comic series I've read in quite a while. The First Being Planet Hulk. Now I don't wanna spoil the story for anyone so I won't say too much. Just that it was an very powerful story, and by the end, (and the set up for World War Hulk which is released in trade paperback form on the 21st of May) you feel that the Hulk is totally justified in everything he is doing. The next comic (and the one I read most recent) Is X-men the Messiah complex. As most of you I'm sure know, after the decimation there were only a 198 mutants left on the planet, and Beast has found out that the Mutant Gene isn't even existant anymore, meaning there have been no new mutant births. This series of comics is based around the first new Mutant Birth and the..three..no four..or maybe 5 *smiles* groups that are trying to get control of this immensly powerful baby mutant ((Who happens to be a girl and have red hair and green eyes....sound like anyone you know?)) With the Purifiers, Sinsters Marauders, The X-men, The New X-men, X-Factor, and the Creation of the New X-Force if you have a favourite mutant, he's probally there. Anyways my point is it's an amazing story and the trade paperback collection came out just a few days ago. This post actually went on alot longer than I expected so I will just leave it at that. Thanks for taking the time to read, if my post is well liked, maybe I'll recommend some more. Thanks alot everyone and keep reading LFG and LeastICouldDo!

Webcomic list.
If you are referring to Web-comics you can see if you can ask a moderator to resurrect appointed topic.

If not and something else then I will gladly check out the comics you suggested! I have been needing something to have my mind munch on.

*smiles warmly* These are definitly not Webcomics, I just thought I would recommend some paperback comics.

For avid comic fans, this is old news. However if someone considers rejoining the comic ranks as I myself have done:
  • Wanted. You can get it as a trade paperback collecting the entire story. Superb.
  • Batman:Hush. Trade paperback Volumes One and Two. Excellent.
  • Nightwing: Volume One in trade paperback. Great stuff.
  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season Eight. Get the trade paperback then start getting the ongoing comics. Joss Whedon writes!
  • Batman: RIP this is JUST starting!
  • Thor: Ages of Thunder. I might just wait for the trade paperback for this one.
  • Batman: The Joker's Last Laugh. New.

I adore darker comics like Hush. It's the first one where I actually wanted to go out and buy it instead of borrowing from someone else.

I've enjoyed the Ultimate Marvel range. They're not brilliant or anything but they manage to reduce a large portion of what I don't like about comics in general.

Mostly people stay dead when they're killed and things aren't retconned every other issue and what have you.

Plus, I'm disposed to any form of major media that includes incestuous mutants.

Edit: For more serious fare, Transmetropolitan is a fun read. Mostly because Spider Jerusalem is hilarious. Preacher was okay but it ended on a very predictable note - it had its moments (who doesn't like an alcoholic Irish vampire?) and would occasionally have some very memorable lines ("My head looks like a penis") but it was mostly just okay. It kept getting lost in its own preachy message and too many of the characters (basically everyone but the aforementioned Irish vampire) were shallow.
