Now I could create a gigantic post if I simply posted all the videos I love and the artists I love, but I'd drown my own thread before it ever began. Don't just dump a link in here, give it at least a label and, if you want, a little back story.

Now me, I love all music except the majority of rap and screamer metal (but not all). I think its interesting when two genres collide and produce something beautiful.

Opera + Metal
HolyHell - Phantom of the Opera
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkkHp26w9no

This band I ran into via related content from the video above since they also made a remake of Phantom of the Opera. I've since become a bit of a fan and I intend to buy all of their albums.

This is my favorite song of theirs
Nightwish - Planet Hell
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtoAO1EFuPw

This band I stumbled across using my method of discovery (wikipedia band list + youtube). It's the only song I've found on youtube of theirs, and they only have one album out, so they're relatively new.
Bride Adorned - Killing Frost
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSYXpt0RRHI

Like Nightwish, I stumbled across this band via afore mentioned video's related content.
Avantasia - Lost in Space
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o26SlmROH5Q

Now this band seems to be attempting (and failing) at a facade of ruggedity. Its like when a 5-year-old girl tries to make herself pretty by wearing her moms make-up, but winds up looking like a clown crack-whore. It just hits me funny.
Ruoska - Alasin
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV19mYe3184

Last, but not least. This video was an unintentional suggestion by our own verbose.
Electric Six - Danger! High Voltage!

Verbose
The Ballad of Chasey Lain certainly isn't even close to my favourite song from the Bloodhound Gang, but it's probably my favourite video of theirs.

All you need to know is that Chasey Lain is a porn star.

Hey Taz, you might like "Within Temptation"

The Howling

What Have You Done

Stand My Ground

For similar bands look up "symphonic metal". I'll post more later.
BowenSilverclaw
Yeah, Within Temptation is good smile.gif

I'll be seeing them live in august when they open for Iron Maiden, already saw Nightwish as well, great show smile.gif
And of course Judas Priest in June smile.gif

Ow god, there are so many different bands from different genres I like tongue.gif
I'll post some more when I'm feeling a little bit less lazy tongue.gif

Mordax Praetorian
My favorite musician goes online by the name of Ezer Coneza, he's an old friend of mine

Way back when I was still trying to make a computer game he composed a bunch of very cool stuff for it, its a shame that now I'm reduced to writing a novel instead that it'll go to waste

Thing is, I'm pretty sure he could make a killing in a professional movie/game music career, but he doubts his own skills far too much

As far as I'm concerned, his peice Find The Light is the most badarse peice of music ever composed

Continuing the symphonic metal theme I give you two from "Haggard"

Awaking the centuries (warning this vid is 11 minutes long)

The Final Victory
Taz
For you Final Fantasy fans out there, there is a band who was formed by Nobuo Uematsu (the composer responsible for the music in many of the final fantasy games)

The Black Mages - To those who fight further
The Black Mages - Vamo' Alla Flamenco

Heh, you've got to love wikipedia
A list of symphonic metal bands
I'm gonna pick some of those at random and see what I get.

#1BATTLELORE - House of Heroes
This one isn't my cup of tea, it had potential for me until the dude starting his gut growling.

#2After Forever - Energize Me
This one I like, I'll have to look deeper into this band.

I've got to figure that it's going to be hit and miss as far as the quality of bands goes on that list, but I'll probably find bands I wouldn't find otherwise.

EDIT:
Decided to take another band at random before I headed off to WoW. I think I might of hit the person jackpot.
LEAVES' EYES - Into Your Light
LEAVES' EYES - New Found Land

My favrite song is a country song
Legendaryratboy
Nice to see others who like symphonic Metal, and good choice on Haggard.

Another band you might want to look into is Mago de Oz, just so you know it's in Spanish, but I guarantee that you wont care.
I3lind
Was just browsing random when i came across LaFee. Pretty good for german rock.
DarkBishop
right now i am into Pyramaze , Nightwish, Dragonforce , and Jonathan Coulton

this is not counting stuff i already know like Rammstein, Gorillaz and such
Legendaryratboy
also, not to derail from the music discussion, I noticed that part of this topic is "your own creation", does that mean songs written by us ad our colleagues, or just to mention if we've been/are part of a band... or both?
I3lind
Any or all would be great actually.
Legendaryratboy
Alrighty then, I used to be in a band that did only covers; the name was Chemical Freaks (kind of a inside joke for us), and of course this was back in Mexico so most of what we played is generally unknown in the US. I did Vocals and Base.
Yuliah
I have something of a varied range, I'm more of a metal girl though.

A Aussie band that ain't to shabby wink.gif

If I mentioned some of the other thigs I liked I'd more than likely get stomped on tongue.gif
Taz
I added "your own creation" because I'm sure there are some aspiring musicians and I'd love for people to post their own work, share their own musical history, or that of their colleagues. I surf newgrounds listening to the techno and rock people come up with.

Heres a few good examples.

This one has a bit of a dark quality to it
Sickel In Your Back
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/33428

This one can get loud, and its pretty fast paced.
{Blaze}
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/71906

Not sure how to describe this one... um... uplifting?
Paradise on E

Here is one for you WoW players
Warcraft Blues

I'm relatively certain that everyone has heard of Rammstein, though the majority of the people would have to say that Feuer Frei (from xXx) was their first song. I, on the other hand, can say that Mutter was the first song of theirs I heard, and instantly wanted more. After Mutter, I think Mein Teil and Du Reichst so gut would by my favorite.

Rammstein - Feuer Frei!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHWicNDkbpw

Rammstein - Mutter
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZdM1EpMo4k

Rammstein - Mein Teil
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZ_OqwnCZT4

Rammstein - Du Reichst so gut

I3lind
Actually, Du hast was the first thing of theirs i have heard, and my favorite song and video from them would have to be sonne
Legendaryratboy
