FearFist
Why are they even bothering looking for the sword there super powerful as it is, also who do you think will get it at the end...richard wont he has the fork so....
Z3r0H3r0
becasue they just want he sword so deal with it
Ronnie
Well, you see, FearFist,

You're right. At the beginning, I think they needed the Sword to buy off Aellon or something, but now I dont imagine they'd have too much trouble with that plate-mailed pansy.

On the other hand, if they didn't have some kind of motivation to keep going, they would essentially be slaughtering their way across two continents and several times just for the hell of it.
And, though that would be pretty cool with Richard, Cale and some of the others might object. Also, you can't commit those kind of atrocities without some kind of motivation. I'm sure that after he kills someone, Cale explains to them earnestly that it was all in the pursuit of the Sword of Truth, so his latest victim can die peacefully, knowing it was for the greater good.
And I'm sure when the local police show up, Cale explains the whole story so they don't get like, arrested for genocide, or murder, or something. After all, it was for the Sword of Truth. Can't arrest a man on a quest, especially when it's for an object spelled with a Capital letter.

And anyways, they seem to have mostly forgotten about the sword of truth lately. Now they're just fighting against Legaara and for Kene-whatever-eethia.

Help?

And I would have to bet Cale gets it. Sadly.
Lunaya
Well, now that Tavor has the Sword of Truth, Benny suggested that the group simply acquire enough treasure to buy Aelloon off. Also, everybody got kind of side-tracked when it was discovered that Legara was taking over the continent.

When did Tavor get the sword 0.o

And I'm guessing legara will be too powerful for the group to handle but when Sooba touches the sword he transforms into Ultra Kitty and with his newfound knowledge which reveals to him the one way he can destroy Legara for good. Or the bunny... Cale's got 2 swords already the greedy bastard, he don't need another one...

Tavor was the last person to be seen holding it.

After Cale "killed" the boy anchor and Kethenecia is set adrift in the time stream and the group returns the present time with the city of Kethenecia in tow, Benny complains to Krunch that they almost had the SoT in their grasp but lost it again. Because Tavor didn't make the transition back to the present. So it's a good bet Tavor still has the sword.

I remember Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail.. they DID get arrested for slaughtering people even as they went about their sacred mission... messed up the whole end of the movie!

Holy hells I never even noticed Tavor had the sword. Well good, that increases the chance we'll see him again.

It also explains why he was so..well..angry. mellow.gif Granted, he was to begin with, but now even more so, you see. =P

Actually, to get Aelloon off her back, Benny needs to either give Aelloon the sword or kill him (page 14 and page 15).
Now that Cale is determined to bring down Legara and its royal line, it's safe to say that includes eliminating Aelloon. He's killing two birds with one stone: fulfilling his promise to Benny while doing what he feels is right. The sword doesn't seem to be the end goal anymore, but I'm sure we'll see it pop back up because of what the old dragon says on page 116.

The only thing is, when Tavor was holding the SoT, nothing was really attention-grabbing about it. I mean, there didn't seem to be too much detail in the design of it, even Richard's other swords (the sword of 77% probability ect.) had more eye-catching features then the SoT

Hey, the Truth isn't always pretty.

Especially in Tavor's case.

Therefore the truth shall be a dead rat on a stick. Why? Because dead rats on sticks ain't pretty, just like the Truth.

Ohhhhhhh heck........ I just realized something I'd rather not have........
Why does Alleron want the Sword of Truth? Because it's a bad-arse sword? No, because either Tavor is the Emperor/adviser to the Emperor and he needs the sword to destroy Kethenica. Vengence for Gamlon x.x

Doesn't he (as in Tavor) already have it? The last time we saw either of the two, they were together.

Heh. Important things don't always look impressive on first glance, whereas (paraphrasing Terry Pratchett) things that are not important often look more important than the important things. Or something.
Remember the Holy Grail in Indiana Jones 3? wink.gif Not a lot of bling factor there either.

SoT is a MacGuffin in my opinion.

(Use wikipedia on the explanation of this particular plot device)
