Attn: Beneficiary,
RE: PAYMENT NOTIFICATION OF OLD CONTRACT/INHERITANCE ARREARS.

We have the pleasure in informing you of an approval obtained last week from the president and commander in chief of the armed forces ALAHAJI UMARU MUSA YARADUA. The Senate Committee on Contract/Inheritance Payments to pay the entire amount owed and due to you in settlement of fund.

We have noted with concern the wrongful withholding of your long overdue payment by a syndicate of corrupt public officers who made several unsuccessful attempts to divert your funds into their corrupt private accounts overseas. This discovery was made recently
by a report submitted to my office by the President and the Senate Committee for the Review of Foreign Debts.

Based on this approval, we have already credited the entire sum in you favour through our overseas paying bank, Please, kindly reconfirm your details and the Receiving Bank details to confirm with what we have in our records to avoid wrongful diversion.

On behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria, we regret all financial losses you may have incurred in the past as a result of official misconduct and we wish to record here our appreciation for the great patience exhibited by you and members of your company in waiting for this payment.
Congratulations!
please contact me in my private E-MAIL: centralbankunitednations2007@yahoo.co.uk

Yours truly,
Prof. Charles Soludo.
TREASURY CONTROLER
Foreign Operation Dept/Treasury (CBN).
NOTE: That we have made the lodgement of your funds in our overseas
correspondence company's account with the scottish bank in London for
onward transfer to you

So, any of you have some interesting, strange, or just outright silly junk mails to share?

I hate these stupid things. It's like "Hi, I'm Nigeriaen Royaltey, and I need your help. Please overlook the fact that I can't spell "Nigeria", or "Royalty." Stupid scam artists. And the even more stupid people who buy the damn thing.
Grym
Are you kidding? It's freaking hilarious! Especially when they somehow manage to make it past your filters biggrin.gif
Raven 2552
My school's filter kicks ass. I've never gotten one of those things on my e-mail client here. Now Hotmail, hat's a different story.

This is the first one I've ever gotten, but my dad used to get them regularly enough to be funny.

I got a call from this Pakistani guy the other day who claimed his name was Steve and I had won an all-expense paid vacation to the destination of my choice, along with a new digital camera and a penis enlargement pills. All I had to do was give him my bank account info. Yeah. Right.
Grym
You should have answered: "Oh, really? I want to go to the moon. I'll give you my bank info after you take me there, moron."

I told him he could go screw himself and he started cussing me out. It made me laugh.
hhh221
no, tell him to call a number to get the bank code and have it be a suicide hotline tongue.gif
Raven 2552
I was given the rejection hotline number by a girl one time. Yeah. I didn't laugh.
Grym
I'd fall out of my chair laughing if that happened to me. I'm pretty good natured about jokes leveled at me biggrin.gif
Hunter
Oh the rejection hotline is badass funny, I keep getting an automated message from Macy's once a week at home, I don't think we even have Macy's in Canada.
Raven 2552
The problem was I was really into this girl. So I didn't find it funny.

I recently got a phone call I found interesting.

Caller: I am calling to inform you that you have been entered in some contest because you are a preferred customer of Visa, Discover, MasterCard or Capital One. Which of these cards do you use?

Me: Um... I don't have a credit card.

Caller: That's ok. Is your bank account in good standing?

Me: Nope! Completely defaulted! *with 'I'm proud of this fact' voice*

Caller: *click*

Hunter
I like to ask where they are calling from, if they say outside Canada I tell them that talking to them violates my philosophy against outsourcing jobs. If they are in NA I just tell them to take me off their calling list.

Eh, my hotmail's basically just there so I can have messenger. I don't even really use it anymore.

It's not like people are beating down my digital doors to email me.

I'm just idiosyncratic enough to need to delete or view all messages in my hotmail account because I can't have the Unread Emails symbol on my MSN.

Responding to them lets them know the account is live

Meaning, if they have a guy who checks it, he will write down your email and put you back on the list after each rotation.

God, i wonder how many of those scams work. Are there people out there that dumb, and if yes, should i really feel sorry for them?
Neomancer
You know what's sad, there's a another scam where you receive an email from "the US government" or "the United Nations" stating that the have instituted a program to refund money lost to these types of scams. All tey ask for is the same personal information as the scams they're supposedly trying to counter. And thre truly sad thing is that people who fell for the first scam are likely to fall for this one too.
Taz
Heres one people probably didn't see coming.

Also, I have mixed feelings about these videos.

They're scamming people who wanted to hack someone else's account. In essence its just desserts.

For those of you who don't know how they're scamming (I doubt you don't) this little video will help.
