Just to make this really short.

I want to play Star Wars Galaxies and want to know how much the monthly fee is (If there is one), how many people play it, hows traveling, level system, etc etc.

I want to hear from players first before I look at the website.

It's the most elaborate chat room you will ever see. Thats it.

I tried the demo and personally I thought it sucked, it had alot of lag and in general was very hard to figure out.

Fairly fun. But on my scale, it's below wow(duh) and city of heroes/villians.

-Big elaborate chatroom is definately a good description.
-Leveling isn't too bad.
-Traveling is cake after you do it once or twice.
-Storyline, meh. You are dragged along through the galaxy by the storyline, so you;re not just floating wondering what to do.
-Quests? boring. Essentially, the same quests over and over and over again. Go to location, kill X number of mobs, return to quest giver. There are quests to collect stuff, but you collect from the mobs. so... kill X number of mobs.
-Making stuff. I'm still bloody lost. Apparently, you can make some kind of mineral collectors or whatever and they get minerals you need to build stuff... like ships, and clothing, etc. I played for about... 6(ish) months and never figured that part out. I even googled to try and figure it out and was still lost. Maybe I wasn't looking hard enough.
-Character creation. Bleagh. Not too bad, I suppose. But in the expanded universe and even in just the movies, there are TONS more species than the options they give you to mess with.
-Cantina's: Woohoo! Dancing twileks!!! FTW!

...that about sums it up. Price... I totally don't even remember, but I ended up canceling my thingie cause I was too bored. See my notes above on "Quests?".

Oh wait! One more thing... it's very lonely. The galaxy is sooo big that there's very rarely people around you. Good for grinding many mobs, but for me, it made the game unbearably dull cause it made it seem like a single player.

When it first came out it was amazing. Then they started to nerf it. and nerf it. and just when you thought it couldn;t get any worse, they nerfed it some more. and it's like ten bucks a month I think. after they made Jedi a class instead of making you work for it... Yeah, i lost my respect for it right there.

Quoted for truth.

I played it from start till right after Trials of Obi Wan. A couple weeks after Trials of Obi Wan, unexpectedly the unleased this sudden and irreversed change where you had Classes instead of working your way up to Jedi.

I had at that time helped my husband grind his character through holocrons till they changed it from Holocrons to the village. He finished out the village then I had started my character village grind on two servers (one rebel, one imperial).

I was on the third thing at the village when the change came. THen every person was being a jedi. In the middle of major cities without retribution from Imperial guards.

It's 14.95 a month. My three houses are still standing amazingly. I will say I loved the crafting system...but disliked how they dumbed it down. The complexity of the game made me <3 it.

Now I play when there are free trials and that's about it.

I just went with Bounty Hunter. Me and my buddy started playing at the same time and he was an armor maker and he made me some sweet Mandalorian Armor. I miss those days.

I havent tried many online games excpet for FFXI, EQ, WoW, LotR, and StarWars Galaxies.

I liked the first few days of it, but it really was just "the most elaborate chat room you will ever see"
