Alright I'm too lazy to go through and read 47 pages so I'll just throw in my info.
I've only got one toon that I started a couple months ago.
Kelada, just dinged level 35 blood elf prot pally on Blackwing Lair.
I'm not a huge fan of the PVP server but I don't have my own account so the one toon is there so I can play with a friend. Oh, I just joined "Overlords of the Horde" too. Fun guild, for now.

I already know they are. If you've read the recent patch notes: basically the patches that are coming up are going to be setting up for the upgrade in WotLK. Remember when they had that patch-mania before BC? Well, its the same thing. The few months before it comes out, they're going to try and update everything they can so that there aren't too many follies in the beginning.

i miss Warcraft 3 Kael. SO much better than him in WoW...
seriously. Kael got completely destroyed character-wise between games. he was still semi-salvage-a-ble... til patch 2.4.
i like 2.4 and all, dont get me wrong... but i did NOT like how they destroyed what was left of kael's character for it. =/
oh god how i dread what WotLK is gonna do to Arthas... i never liked arthas much... but seeing the trend....

To be honest, I hated Kael in Warcraft 3 already. He seemed no less emo to me. Well he was less insane, but definitely not less emo.
About Arthas, it's weird. He's a perfect example of Lawful Stupid on the start of the Alliance campaign, then turns to a fallen hero, and in an interesting twist of events he develops into some anti-hero in Frozen Throne.
But call me crazy, I think Akama or Jaina Proudmoore would be a better example for True Neutral.
linxafidel
Sep 21 2008, 05:27 AM
lol i wont deny that kael was emo-esc. but i certainly cant blame him. full emo would mean he didnt have a real reason for his overdone behaviour. part of it is his personality, part of it is the pressure on him. but all-in-all he was just trying to help his people. and failed. miserably. died thinking he still was helping. its a pathetic finish really.
... i had too much fun saying "burn it with FIRE" every time i sent him to kill something. and you wouldnt believe the amount of lumber i lost because i was going happy on the Flamestrike. I REGRET NOTHING!
regardless... i found Arthas irritating as hell at first. then creepy. then hilarious. but i just didnt liken to him. first impressions, prolly.
and i agree about Akama. Jaina is a goody-goody, frankly. so much so that shed rather not fight. least thats wht i felt.

To me she seemed more like a sorceress that'd much rather spend time in a private library and only got involved into the politics because she was the only reliable person left who had the capacity to lead that little exodus, thus I called her neutral.
I can so totally imagine her pacing around in Aran's library and studying new ways to destroy things with, paying no attention to that poor soul that still haunts it.
Oh and about Lawful Neutral - Maiev Shadowsong.
Also, Kel'Thuzad is a perfect example of Lawful Evil. I always liked the guy, in WC3, and in WoW he's a great raid boss, even at 70. To a lesser extent, Sylvannas Windrunner is Lawful Evil too after she gets turned into a Banshee.

We had a raid rule about that to be honest. Sure it's fun to see Kel'Thuzad go all emo the first few times but then it gets kinda lame. And it doesn't change the KT encounter in any way.

To me she still seems pretty Lawful, but the type of lawfulness changes from adhering to the code of justice to zealously sticking to one's own code of conduct.
But that's me...I'd also consider an anarchist to be a pretty lawful person, which is beside the point - just saying I consider both adhering to a rule of society as well as following one's own beliefs without straying to be aspects of lawfulness.
Hm. I wonder if I can pair up any more alignments with Warcraft lore characters.
Archimonde the Defiler is at least Neutral if not Chaotic Evil...I'd say Sylvannas Windrunner is Lawful Evil after the incident with Arthas. Lord Aiden Perenolde, now that's Chaotic Neutral for you.

Sargeras - Neutral Evil
Jaina - Neutral Good
Thrall - Lawful Good
Fandral Staghelm - Chaotic Neutral/Evil (depending on whether he's going to assrape the whole Night Elf society, as seems possible, or not)
Medivh (post-possession) - Chaotic Good
Alexandros Mograine - Lawful Good
Every dreadlord ever - Lawful Evil
Orgrim Doomhammer (post-WC2 portrayal) - True Neutral
Gul'Dan - Neutral Evil

Ugh. The Heigan Dance. That was torture for awhile until enough people in my guild were able to not fail at it to kill him everytime. At least I could bubble through some of it.
Thaddius wasn't as horrific, though. Because you didn't have to keep moving. Just had to be ready to switch if you're polarity switched. Though, that was hard too for a bit.

Actually. The made leveling up faster. At level 20 to level 60, quest experience has been increased and from level 30 to level 60, the amount of experience it takes to level up has been decreased. Pretty much from level 60 to 70, the best way to level up is to have a good instance group to run with and go with that.

I remember that. The second time is the slowest.
The first time takes the longest but it's all new you so you don't mind so much. The second time feels unbelievably slow (my second was a Draenei Shaman so it felt nice until I got to 20 and then torture until 58 even though I actually managed to shave a good deal of time off my levelling).
Third and fourth (64 druid and 56 Paladin for me, more or less concurrently) felt okay because I spent my time listening to sweet podcasts rather than pay attention to what I was doing. And by the third time around, you know the areas enough to just blaze through without having to stop - especially when you have a bag-maker.
From what some guildies have said, once you're up to (and past) number five, it's all just monotony you don't even pay attention to.

I think for most people after like the 2nd or 3rd character, leveling becomes really boring and hard to do. At least, it's like that for me. Just look at the stats on my toons.
lvl 70 Paladin
lvl 70 Rogue
lvl 67 Druid (Horde; last three levels SUCK)
lvl 50 Mage
lvl 47 Shaman
lvl 36 Priest
lvl 32 Warlock
lvl 31 Rogue (Horde)
And the rest are below lvl 20.

You want some podcasts or even some DVDs of television series. Boston Legal levelled my druid and Nip/Tuck got my paladin up there. Once you're familiar enough with the game that you barely need to be present to correctly operate it, you're at optimal levelling speed. Hell, I haven't played WoW in about two months and I can still perform my optimal DPS rotation for solo, melee party and caster party.
Which is something I'm both looking forward to and dreading in Lich King. Shaman DPS rotation is going to stop being (mostly) three buttons and will turn into five or six. It will make snoozing through the Kara equivalent more difficult.

i know that the download for the 3.0 patch is almost a gig
when i downloaded the original game onto my computer it said it would take 5 1/2 hours
it took 90 mins and that is including all the patches
when i downloaded BC, it said it would take 4 hours
took around an hour, including patches
apparently the 3.0 patch downloaded while i was playing so im not sure how long that took
good luck though

One night when one of my guildies accidentaly DE'd an item, a GM personally intervened after a ticket. And apart from restoring the item, he also did some fun stuff. That included spawning El Pollo Grande in front of Black Temple.
And when he said that we should give his regards to Illidan as he hates him and is not going to enter BT therefore, I answered "You only say that because YOU ARE NOT PREPARED!". Then he said "Oh, I am" and breathed fire all over us. "Are you?"

Wotlk takes 10 hours between 70-71, and up to 12 hours by the time you're 78-79.
It's necessary to allow people to catch up, or roll what they want before the xpac.
One of the reasons I left blizzard, was because of the fact they primarily did it to support the rise of multi-boxers, for more income, and as expected, it seems they have had quite the increase in accounts since this new RAF.
It's another reason I quit wow.
