Well, if I'm being accurate I'm really not much of an asshole these days.
I have my moments but it's all too much effort for the most part. These days I'm a lot more quietly cynical and rely on theatrical and ironic rants to get my point across. It's just a lot easier to claim asshole and have insured myself ahead of time by warning people than it is to explain my technique.

Despite our....first "meeting" Verb...I'd have to agree with I3lind...You're just honest...
Doesn't seem like it here, but in RL and WoW I can be much much worse then you..

Guess I might as well jump on the bandwagon.
Main is a feral druid on the Agamaggan (EU server). Cabinet of goons also consists of a level 70 paladin, hunter, priest
Like most I got tired of /1 which is utter crap on most servers, so have that one on ignore.
Am in a RP guild on a PVP server, this means that we have weeded out all the immature people and there is only a nice bunch of people left. Furthermore I really don't miss the l33t talk which all other channels overflow with.
As we do not have enough guildies for raiding 25mans consistently, we have made a raiding alliance with a larger guild allowing those of us with PvE feelings to explore those. Sadly still stuck at 5/9 BT as we had a large number of people jumping ship as they felt the progress raids were a bit too demanding.

Well, what the hell, since I'm here?
Certified WoW geek. 70 Nelf Druid (former Feral, now Boomkin, semi-retired), 70 Tauren Druid (former Boomkin, now Feral, not-quite semi-retired), 70 Nelf Hunter (ME FARM OR FAMILY DIE), and a vertiable shitload of alts ranging from 1-65. I loathe raiding with a passion, namely because I don't see the point of turning a game I play for fun into a job with 9/24/39 other people to bitch and complain about how my/your/their gear didn't drop. I used to love BGing, but after running AV for the 16,000th time, I hear the Alliance "do-DO do-DOOOO" sound and kinda want to curl into the fetal position.
So. Yeah. Go me?

I will not begin to speak about how many 70s I have, on both sides, it just makes me look sad.
I've found that creating a new alt and bolstering it up with a main's money is fun. Even after all this time. Just to see what I can get away with. Each time I level it's been entirely different. Which is nice but still boring. Mr. Flo and I had been thinking of getting into Everquest again but meh... it's been 4 years. And 19 damn expansions! Not sure I could level up to 85 either. Not remotely interested in AoC. Still like WoW in terms of pretty the most.

I just level rogues. My first rogue is flash frozen at 60 on Dark Iron. My second rogue is at 70 and retired from raiding on Frostwolf. My newest rogue is chilling on Cairne at level 61. Hopefully the newest gets into a bit of light raiding eventually, but definitely some pvp, since thats the one thing I never really mastered. Do it once, do it again, then do it right.

Must say, trying to heal the back half of kara yourself is fun, and quite challenging..
We had myself, and another resto druid on heals, but the other druid was too distracted with real life to do very much healing, we cleared to curator and I was chosen to main heal which I did without problem but I couldn't quite make up for the lack of heals from the other druid, as I was keeping both tanks, myself, and our 2 melee dps alive I couldn't throw hots on anyone else, my job was actually to just look after the tanks and myself, so the hots I did throw out on the DPS was overtime, we wiped on curator a few times and had to just call it when the trash respawned and it was getting late, but the fact that each and every wipe it came down to myself and the 2 tanks being the last ones alive, and we did get curator to 15%, was satisfying.
I ended up with 70% of the heals, other druid had 20%, and the boomkin 10%.
The run was called due to a lack of DPS, though I and I alone knew the truth, I like the other druid though so I didn't speak up.. she was just having an off night and wasn't expecting to come to kara that night anyway its not her fault real life got in the way and it was too late to find another healer to take her spot why make her look and feel bad, our kara team was gimped that week anyway.

Should have called it earlier and looked for another healer.
It's not really a black mark to be unable to show up occasionally. Unless you're a main tank, I suppose.

Ada, in raids, everyone but the tanks must learn that they can't count on healing anyway. The sooner people learn to use potions, bandages and healthstones, the better.

unless you have really fast dps on curater, the little orbs will kill most of the dps even if they use pots, hs's, and somehow bandage without it breaking.

A common trick is to get everyone to sit on the tank. That way all the balls will spawn and stand within striking distance of the DPS allowing them to be taken down with less running back and forth.
Very useful in melee heavy raids.

By the time we got everyone together due to late arrivals and no shows then cleared up to curator when it had became apparent she wasn't going to do too well it was already too late to get someone else, nobody else was available, But like I said my Kara team was gimped that week we were pretty underpowered so I'm just glad we cleared the first half and still managed to one shot opera, this week the team has a lot more power, things have been evened out better.
I ran Gruuls with another guild tonight too, they were short a few people so they invited a couple officers from my guild who in turn invited me, it was a lot of fun and the preperations took longer then the run itself lol.. 3 tries on the high king but we got him, then we one shot gruul for my tier 4 pants.

Maulgar always takes longer to explain than to do. Once my guild got the gear to bull through it, we started it before we finished explaining it and let people figure it out as we went.

Right, of course there are some boss encounters when raid healing is a must. Aran, Curator, Netherspite being the most prominent in Kara. Also Maiden for melee. Other than that...

Jun 12 2008, 11:04 AM
Well now that the team is better balanced we'll just blow right through Kara no problem, last week a lot of the heavy guns were used on team 1 leaving team 2 to nip at the scraps picking up whatever was left, this week we swapped some dps and tanks, team 1 has cleared kara and team 2 will be doing the same this weekend.
You're right about the explanations we did spend more time being filled in about Maulgar then actually fighting him but without it we would have never got past him, and with my own guild planning to run gruuls soon its nice to already know the fights and what to expect, you don't always have the luxury of learning the fight when you're in the middle of it with your face buried in Healbot.
Vegos
Jun 12 2008, 12:06 PM
Maulgar is a pushover as long as the mage tank keeps Krosh away from the raid and Blindeye&Olm go down fast.
PS: What I wanted to say about healing is - if you get yourself cleaved by Nightbane, don't expect to get healed. MOVE! If you stand in fire, don't expect to get healed. MOVE!

Let me tell you about healing...
I'm a healer..
I save lives...
Your life....Be grateful...
You act like a dumbass in a raid or in a Heroic Group...I won't heal you..
You don't do your job right or your fair share....I don't heal you..
You AFK in the middle of a fight (Which happens a lot for some reason) I don't heal you, I don't res you, and I boot you...
Basically if you want to live and stay, listen to the healer....Be in LOS be in range don't fuck around, do your part...yada yada and we're good to go...
Also, if you come to a raid with like no epics (A raid other than Kara)..You're bound to die heals or no...
PvP and do heroics for epics
Do reg dungeons for blues...
Greens do you no justice.

I just often get told I'm about the only rogue they got at whose talent build they didn't laugh. I also managed to dish out 150+ more sustained DPS than another similarly geared/talented rogue simply by better cooldown management.
So yeah, rogues are often percieved as "people who are too lazy to L2P properly", but I alyways play to m best. I hate the slackers who give us rogues a bad name.
And I never use vent. It disrupts my focus. If they have something to tell me, a RW or even a macto which utomatically /t <me> will work a lot better.
