I use the built in UI for newb toons sometimes heh. Normally tho I just profile copy so all my toons UI's have a similar look.

Tho I tend to turn off omen, Deadly Boss Mods, Recount and a few other raid specific ones if it's a noob toon, just to save on memory consumption. Widescreen monitor makes it much better now tho, but my UI has been pretty much the samish since the middle of BC.

Maybe I should give it a full overhaul soon biggrin.gif

Try to get something even more streamline and graphical. I'd do away with most of my buttons (most are bound) but I often play in the dark and my keyboards not back lit and sometimes I just need to be able to click on what I want, not button mash for it. heh

Did you get a chance to run the new raid yet? Did-ya? It's so exciting and fun!!!

I still think its a bunch of bull crap, I'll wait till blizzard actually announces something. Or until I think of what it's going to be.

And I like how my UI is, I <3 Warcraft three.

Still not enough on. I may just start hunting for a pug or bother friends in other guilds to see if they got space on some nights.

Heroic RFC, FTW. happy.gif

Almost got my DK into a quick VH group before he realms went down for maintenance, then the guy apologized to me, saying he meant H VH (Before he did that, he asked if I was a tank). Eos is only level 77. tongue.gif I have TWO TOONS, EACH WITH THE INITIAL VH QUESTS, and everyone else is level 80 and wants to run heroics. Go figure. No one wants to help a poor, wee level 77 DK JC with her quest.

I so swear, though, the next person to tell me DKs are OP, BANG! If I was OP, I wouldn't die so much.

...At least Eos got her JC daily done before the realms went down for maintenance. Have to get on Laaru (my level 64 hunter) later to do her daily. 20 days worth of dailies, for the venomhide raptor mount quest. Yuo have to collect and feed it food. That's the daily. It gives you a baby tooth for a quest reward. After collecting 20 baby teeth you take the raptor, plus 20 pieces of runecloth, 20 pieces of rugged leather, and 80G to the guy for your mount.

I understand it's open to all classes, and not jsut hunters, but I want to finish it out with Laaru first before trying it on Moonstryfe. Stryfe's the one I'm seriously collecting the muonts for, trying for the protodrake. Although if my mage, Moonstryke (or Stryke) reaches level 50 before she finishes, then I'll start her on them as well. Not that it's likely, since she's currently only level 38, but you never know.

Sorry, Beron, but if you can't solo anything as a DK, you're playing it wrong.

And Eulogy! Come to my server! We're doing 10 man and 25 man everything! (ok, not 25 man TOC, but i mean come on... give me a break!!! Though we just got some new healers who rock, so maybe we can manage? Tree healers are the win!)

Alright, I know this is a bit on the early side since Wrath is still pretty new. I just wanted to bring it up to get your thoughts and opinions on it though. I have been reading and heard from several people about this, and speculation has it that the next expansion will be The Emerald Dream with the new Hero Class being Arch Druid. With Blizzard it is a mixed bag on what you hear and what could possible be true. As Kay pointed out, the discussion and info about Cataclysm being the next expansion. That's the first I have heard about it where as most of what I have been reading and hearing is in regards to the Emerald Dream being next.
Kayhynn
There's been a lot of discussion on it (in this thread) for that matter. But it is quite known that Blizzard has trademarked Cataclysm.

Now, there is a story behind Cataclysm which links it to The Emerald Dream

for some added info

QUOTE
There’s been a great deal of speculation for a long while now that the next expansion will relate to the swirling vortex of power that lies between Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, the Maelstrom. To refresh your memory, the Maelstrom was created in a huge world event at the end of the War of the Ancients, thousands of years ago. Often referred to as the Cataclysm or the Great Sundering, it all started with the destruction of the Well of Eternity. The giant explosion that this caused ripped Azeroth asunder, destroying most of the land mass (previously there was one giant continent, Kalimdor) and reshaping what little remained. In place of the Well of Eternity now lies the Maelstrom, a constant, thunderous reminder of the peaceful times that now are lost to the world. It also is implied that the giant storm is slowly drawing in the surrounding land masses. It could even eventually swallow all that remains of Azeroth.

The Emerald Dream is linked to Dragon Aspect Ysera and is a world where the Great Sundering didn't happen. A couple years back when this was suggested as a possible expansion it was flamed by Blues with a "not happening anytime soon" type answer
Jowy
TBH, I would rather see Cataclysm than the Emerald Dream. I think it would add more and be more fun, especially with the addition of new races. Goblin FTH, oh yeah, makes me wonder what classes they can be, and you know one of their racial passives will be an increase to engineering.

I think we're just going to condense as a guild and probably just be a 10man content runner. Less stress than 25mans and less having to rely on people. Most of the core of this guild have been togther 11 years (since the Cyber Strike days) and we have always hit the content really hard. I think alot of us tbh are looking to tone it down some and not feel a need to continue our balls to the wall attidude with raiding.

In regards to DK's. F your DPS tongue.gif. I have to bust my ass to get anywhere near a blood DK's DPS in a raid. And even then he can out-do me easily by 1-3k if the fight gives him an advantage. You can be the shittiest player on the planet and still out DPS other more skilled players of other classes. Why I refuse to play a DK.

LoL

We have a MT warrior who will sometimes tank raid bosses in his pretty pink dress. He hasn't done it to much in wrath but during the BC days... god he made me nuts lol.

Be right at the start of the Gruul pull and he'd change into his damn dress. /hate lol

I'd always be his assigned healer too, and he'd /w me things like "you know you like it" or "but how can you get into my pants when I'm wearing this evening gown" .... funny as hell lol

he plays a female warrior to note. He has a small collection of "pretty" dresses... for tanking.

laugh.gif That's pretty cool, actually. Our tank doesn't have the dresses but, for guild meetings, he dons a tattered loincloth and bunny ears: well, at least, for when it's in the World's End Tavern

The hardest thnig is working up your occupations, though, whatever class you are, and DKs start at zero in everything but first aid.
lol. I have yet to face Gruul, I think. I end up going mostly where people want me to go, and that ain't a whole lot of places. Well, except for the lower level Instances, which I can mostly do on my opwn. It's still pretty hard for a DK to deal with certain levels of mobs, though, until they finally get some "crowd displeasers".

Yeah, we're attempting to figure out how to balance raiding out. We're consistently getting 20 people to show up for raid nights, and I don't know how to make that work yet. There's 12-13 really solid players, 5-6 moderately good raiders, 2-3 who are well geared but just don't know how to play their classes (And despite whatever help we can offer, they can't seem to get it), and then there's a few people who are just flat out undergeared, but do know how to play their class.

I would love to be doing 25 man content, but they're not up to snuff, so we schedule a 25 Nax at some time during the week. We don't have the tanks/heals for two 10 man groups (and splitting two 10 man groups means we have two groups that will get through maybe a keeper in 10 man Ulduar, while a solid 10 man group would be able to clear 10 man easily).

I'm not entirely sure how to balance out the situation, so Tuesday/Wed I'm setting up the 10 man core group, and then leaving thursday for 25 man whatever, and the rest of the week is clean up.

But I don't like making that 10 man, because I have no idea how to pick who comes and who doesn't. It's not a fun feeling.

However, the 10 man group one shot the first boss of TOC with no deaths this week (15 tries last week, one try this week, PROGRESS!!!) and we four shot the second boss, without anyone having read any strategies or anything. I'm rather proud of my little group.

I realize how short the Tournament is, but there's a shockign realization however. You know how Blizzard allowed raids to be extended past a given week. That's not because of Ulduar or the Tournament. Ice Crown Citadel is going to have 31 bosses, minimum.

Blizzard Quote... "I don't know that I would say we want tanking niches. I ultimately am agreeing with what you're saying, but once we say "tanking niches" players have visions of the DK who parks outside of Icecrown until boss 4, 17 and 31 (yes, IC is that big)."

So I recently rolled a mage and I'm hearing how bad mages got nerfed in this last patch.

Does anyone want to explain these nerfs to me? (keep in mind, the mage is only lvl 15 at the moment)

Not many changes were given to mages, but none of them are nerfs. Let me get a list from WoWhead.

Arcane Blast: Mana cost reduced by 12%.

Frost Bolt, Cone of Cold, Frost Ward, Ice Armor, Frost Armor, Frost Nova, Ice Lance, and Ice Barrier: The mana cost on these spells has been reduced by approximately 15%.

Invisibility: Can no longer be interrupted by a hostile action or damage done during the 3 second fade time, however an invisible mage can still be stunned or silenced.

Mirror Image: Images will no longer trigger the death sound when their time expires.

Empowered Fire: In addition to its existing effects, this talent now also grants a 33/67/100% chance to regain 2% of base mana each time the Ignite talent deals damage.

Empowered Frostbolt: Instead of increasing critical strike chance by 2/4%, this talent now reduces the cast time of Frostbolt by 0.1/0.2 seconds.

Permafrost: In addition to its existing effects, this talent now also causes the mage's Chill effects to reduce healing received by the victim by 7/13/20%.

They're all buffs, as far as I see. In fact, I've been waiting for the change to Invisibility for a long time. The only one that I consider a nerf is Empowered Frostbolt, since Improved Frostbolt already decreases the cast time of frostbolt. But it's also possible that people are just upset that mages didn't get any big damage buffs.

31 bosses? Phew!

they already nerfed DKs a couple of times, IMO. I miss coming back as a zombie after I die, even if it was only for five minutes. That little trick actually helped me finish one quest. *le sigh*

Unless you're a high-level frost mage-- you're considered a squishy. I know. I pwned the living snot out of an 80 Arcane Mage on my 70 Holy Paladin. Dude knew how to duel, but he was still squishy.

You don't feel the nerfage until about 30.

Yeah, whoever said Mages got the Nerf bat was wrong, if anything they got buffed a little bit. And in other unrelated news, in my farming for badges for my Mages BoA chest piece, I went into H CoS early early this morn and we decided spur o the moment to try and do the timed run, and succeeded, my first ever successful timed run in there and I won the roll for the Bronze Drake, I was HAPPY ^.^

My warlock has done two successful times CoS runs himself, but he's satisfied with the Magnificent Flying Carpet I got him. I actually have yet so see anyone riding one of those, so it's rarer. It'd be cool if I could get each of my characters a different dragon laugh.gif . But everyone's still afraid Malygos or any amount of Dragons on Sartharion. My characters would give each of those a shot if they could, even for the achievement.
Oh, and as a compliment to my two PvE characters, I want my rouge to be PvP. Just got a new comp and everything after a month of WoW withdrawl (it comes with symptoms and everything, no joke), so the lag won't be crippling in arenas. Someone asked my warrior to help in a 2v2... bad idea. I learned PvE fury stance is actually extremely squishy, and that DKs compliment everything.

Yay! I finished step two (the longest one, in theory) out of five on getting the Insane in the Membrance achievement, but getting exalted with all four goblin factions AND honored with bloodsail buccaneers at the same time! I'm so happy that I no longer have to free the crap out of Knot! Working on step three, Ravenholdt, next, and the slow respawn rate of the Syndicates disappoints me. biggrin.gif Mats-wise, I have over half of all that I need for Shen'dralar, and I've done nothing and have nothing towards Darkmoon Faire whatsoever (other than plans to make a dk and farm herbs for rogues decks. fun fun).

Track Me!

(Also, my guild finally made me an Officer, which made me more excited! 37th best raid progression'd guild on the server, alliance and horde. Best we've done is 4 bosses in ulduar-25 and 8 in ulduar-10. o:)

You know what's really upsetting? Our server, Shu'halo, for the third time in its lifetime, was tagged as "New Players" in the population thing. As if we didn't have enough morons and twelve-year-olds! D: I actually had to wait in queue to log in this afternoon!! Servers tagged for new players are also ones where scammers like to come to, cause they would get an easier prey. It's so frustrating!

Well here's some exciting info, Onyxia is coming back!

In patch 3.2.2, Blizzard will be upgrading Onyxia to a level 80 raid boss, with a normal 10 man mode and a heroic 25 man mode. There will be new items added to her loot table, including a 310% flying mount modeled after Onyxia herself. Some of the older items (including the tier 2 helms) will be upgraded so they are on par with other current level raid pieces. In addition, anyone who logs in during the celebration of WoW's 5th anniversary will recieve an Onyxia Broodling pet.

I have to say, I'm excited for this.

Looks like MMO-Champion has some info on World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. I know what some of you may be thinking; "Wow, who do these guys think they are? Do they honestly think I'll believe this just because they posted it?" Well they've said that none of this has been confirmed, but keep in mind that they have rarely, and I mean RARELY, been wrong in the past.

Since there's too much info for me to post on one page, read up on it here. THERE ARE POTENTIAL SPOILERS, SO READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION!

Other lore freaks like myself are probably scratching your heads over Night Elf mages. Well a screenshot was recently leaked from the 3.2.2 PTR. There is a quest wich brings Alliance players to the Temple of the Moon in Darnassus to deliver something to a sentinel there. The quest has seemingly no point to it. But it is actually meant to draw attention to the man standing a few feet away from her. He is, in fact, a Highborne archmage awaiting councel with Tyrande. This likely means that a sect of Highborne survived the Sundering and didn't go across the sea with Dath'remar Sunstrider.

The Horde equivelent brings players to Thunder Bluff. Againe, the quest is seeming pointless, but is meant to draw attention to a conversation between your quest ender, and a young druid. He seems to not be very fond of the fact that the Tauren practice the Night Elves druidism, wich depends largely on the power of Elune. He seems to wonder if there are other ways to channel the Earth Mother's power. Some say that this lends credence to the Tauren priest and paladin theory.

But I'll tell you one thing about the speculated new classes. I am SO rolling a Troll druid if that happens.

The only thing I hope doesn't happen is Garrosh becoming Warchief. Thrall knows about his violent tendencies more than anyone. He would probably pick Verok Saurfang to be Warchief if he had to leave the position. But if it does turn out to be true, then I will not defend him if the Alliance attack. I will be in the throne room cheering them on.

And as for Cairne's death, I would expect Magatha Grimtotem to be the culprit in that situation. I mean, it's been speculated that she was scheaming something all these years.

I have done that quest! It starts at Dalaran, in Sunreaver's, and he sends you to deliver a shield to Thunder Bluff! I actually stayed to listen to the conversation.

and Yay! Spoilers! I am so reading.

Grimtotem? Ah. Like those Grimtotem. And you know that she's had soem dealings with the Apothecary Society. And I may even reroll one of my two BElf pallys (different servers: I actually prefer a class that can sue ranged weaponry, but I have to explore a bit, right? That's how I found out that playing a warrior could be fun, and a DK too, though the latter gives a new meaning to the definition of "pull") as a Tauren pally.

Most of my DKs on other realms I can reroll too. THey're mainly exploring; but I am not rerolling my first DK. She has "all this, and personality too". Also, sicne her name is Eos, I like confusing people. See, I wasn't thinking "Eye of the Storm" when I named her. I went to behindthename.com and went for names with some association for beauty. I had decided before rolling her, that she would be a JC.

Ah, another day of 10 man something or other to look forward to, itll be a nice night.

I'm a little saddened that Deathwing AND Azshara will be out in the same expansion, I rather assumed they'd be out seperately. Obviously Blizzard is taking WOW to 100... and they're slowing pace to do it, so they evidently have the Baddies planned for 90, 95, and 100 as well... I just have no clue who they're going to be...

Yes, it saddens be greatly that someday I will traipse into Icecrown with a trio and burn down the dreaded 10 man Heroic Arthas with but a second thought.

I just hope Tier 10 and 10.5 is back to the old style of Unique per class, and everything is somehow blazened with Ice (That'd just be awesome... icicles cascading down a warrior plate, glacial holy aura radiating around a paladin, fur lined hunter gear...) I think that's one of those things that blizzard needs to get back to, making it about the look!

Tier 8 has been blegh, 9 is dismal. I want my epic look again!

Of course with 31 bosses, we may see tier 10 AND tier 11 go by really quickly.

And by the end of this whole mess, Tier 20!!! Or more?

Muwahahah.

Anyway, the cataclysm ideas are ok, and phasing will be fine (of course I can't imagine what the PvP servers are going to be like now that the upper levels won't be able to harass the youngins? Hooray!!!)

Continuing to watch with eager anticipation.

Honestly wow's kinda loosing me.

Even Ulduar I found bland and lacking in sustancance. The tournament, even more so. Sure I haven't been in the 10man version yet, but if it's anything similar to the 5man and what i saw in Ulduar I doubt I'll be head over heals involved. I find myself with less and less of an inclination to log in, and it's not just because we're not raiding. I realized some time back that I don't log wow to play or chat anymore, wow used to be a part of my social life. Not so much anymore..

To be totally honest. Wow's 6 years old (give or take) they haven't updated their game engine by any significant leaps or bounds, most of the stuff I hear about the Cataslysm expansions I think is bull. Blizz still has all the pirate stuff, the goblin and the southern continent, I highly doubt they will revamp all of Azeroth.

Their current problem is they are making it far to easy to do anything and attain anything. They ungeared the game from something highschoolers through adults should to be playing to something 5 and 10 year olds can play far to much. It's just another reason I think I want out. Just seems there's no challenge to it anymore, everybody can farm Tier equiv gear, everybody can pug 10 and 25's and do the instances. It just seems to simple, and because of it nobody has to have any loyalty to anybody else to complete content let alone work as a team.

Meh.

I keep trying to find ways to revitalize the game for me...but really...I think I might be done for some time. I mean hell, they don't even give you time to enjoy the epic gear your wearing before throwing more at you. I was content for the longest being one of the few priesties in nearly Full T2 when having Full T2 was zomg awesomsauce. They are giving us to much to fast and not allowing time to revel in the achievements of it. By removing the rewards, and the challenges they are removing the motivation of many of their players in my opinion.

Eul - That's heartbreaking.

Ulduar was a little underwhelming, I admit, but 10 man Tournament has been enjoyable. I do think Blizzard needs to stop rushing htese out the door, but while I felt Ulduar was miserably imbalanced when it came out (and the fights were really rough and just blegh), I think the Tournament is a little more fundamental in the mechancis. Less flat out raid aoe's and more visually controlled (you can figure out where to stand, how to shift, maneuver and still keep things under control).

I don't like 5 man very much, but 10 man (and 25 man) are fun. Not that we got a 25 man run together yet. It's a great deal of effort, and no one has time for WOW in the summer.

I'm actually having more fun playing WOW then I ever have, and I realize that's entirely because of my guild. We have set raid times (Tues/Thurs/Monday) 7:30-10:30. If we get the instance done, awesome! If not, if it's close to 10:30 we call it anyway, and there's no shame in it (And we're not grinding into the wee hours killing ourselves). You also don't have to shamefully leave a raid early only to hear how everything came together as soon as you left (I hated those moments...)

It's non-pressure, and yet we're getting more and more accomplished every week, and really pulling together.

I still need another officer or two so that I can take off a week and still know everything will run smoothly, but it's the first guild I've been in to have so little drama for so long. I'm happy with the people, and I think that's why I'm so happy with playing right now.

I don't go nuts, it's not consuming my life, and yet I'm getting solid raid time in with solid progression. And everytime we bring new people in, they're pretty much floored with the relaxed fun attitude and still an ability to get stuff done.

(We also work well with people who need to get classwork done, and want to raid occassionally, or just jump on and rant for a bit... nudge nudge, wink wink...)
Spamsplosion
I think that increasing the time between raids would solve a lot of problems on its own. Not only could the geared start to bask in their own epicness, but raid guilds would have more time to get and gear new members (something unseen on my server lately), thus allowing people who weren't already epic raiders to join their ranks and be on the frontlines of new expansions, because they've had time to assemble the needed gear. I know I'd be a raider right now if anyone wanted me, but all anybody wants right now is to get the latest tier so they'll be ready for 3.3. Kinda funny how 3.2 was supposed to make raids more "accessible"- it killed guild recruitment on Cenarius!

You must have missed the blue post where they said they were being sarcastic by saying 31 bosses. o:
