And shadow priest are in no way like locks. Locks for the most part are burst damage. I'm all tick damage, if the mob won't live more that 2+ minutes my DPS is absolute shit. Thankfully they gave us an AOE to make up for our lack of trash skills.
I can push 2300+ DPS if I can get enough AOE into a big enough mob group, Single target bosses I think I sit anywhere from 1700 to 1800+. I can't really give factual numbers as I got new T7.5 and some other upgrades then the holiday hit and we haven't been raiding (and I havent really be on to much either)
We normally run with 3 healing priests, a few trees and this amazing resto shaman. But we've always ran light when it came to healers. I think throughout all of our instanceing (25man at least) we only bring 6 healers tops (sometimes 5) hell I remeber a few BT runs with 4 healers. Yes we're rediculous, even for the fights where everybody will tell you to bring more. Our pallies? Ret and 1 tanking spec'd one.
We've always ran outside the cookie cutter group and class configs, a friend of mine in one of the top US guilds always got high and mighty with me telling me that what we did was impossible and we'd never beat "blah blah boss". Then we'd win. I'd look at him and go "see, we're flexible and will learn the fight multiple ways with a few casualities and nobody's gotta sit out."
I used to be a disc/holy priest and I was for years, I finally hit the healer wall of %*&#$(*&$# F"! healin but was fortunate enough to be in a guild that was awesome about me respecin. I literally logged for raid after a 2 week break got invite to raid and said " /r btw I'm shadow ". My guild knows that on the drop of a hat if asked I would respec healing, be it for 1 run or forever.
Thus far my raiding group pwnd through naxx and the other singular bosses (minus Malygos 25, we have a few keys from Malygos 10 but the holidays hit). It's almost silly how easy the raiding content is

Shockingly I'm on one hand happy about the upcoming trash HP increases in Naxx. The trash dies in like 2 seconds in there, it's just silly TBH. Woopsie for Blizz leaving the 10man HP's on the 25man trash hehe. On the other hand, that will make the instance longer because trash will take longer.
Eh, I like they are fixing their boo boo, but disapointed I'll be forced to be in Naxx longer.
Also, they are fixing the door named doodad. I'm sad about that, that doors been named that forever.
