Yea, it would be cool to be able to name your mount. I am not sure what I would name my warhorse....but names would be cool.

What would be the point of naming your mount? Its not like it has a name displayed. You could always make a macro that says something like "I summon you _______" when you use your mount or cast the spell come 3.0.

Show me a company that doesn't screw their costumers over at least occasionally and Ill show you a company run by Vulcans. Human nature is to screw up and Blizz manages that royally. However the fact that all their core games (Even some really old ones) are still selling like hot cakes means they are also very good at what they do.

The armys goal is actually to screw over their "customers" or at least explode them to tiny bits.

we should all join a server and start a guild. I play horde though..

It's been done, on Dark Iron. Fell apart when people went back to raiding on their old server.

Reality is that reading a webcomic like the others isn't a strong bond or vet for talented players.

Not a company. No company could run at such a substantial financial loss for so long and stay in business.

It's an arm of the government.

i'm slightly offended, though unsure as to why.

Hm. Well, my job's half-done I guess. I usually prefer people to know why I've upset them but I'll take what I can get.
Bravesirrobin
its like if you worked for bungie or blizzard and someone talked about how much it sucked. even if you hated your job, gotta represent. lol

I sorta would want to name my mount Old Blanchy just for S&Gs but obviously I wouldn't name my Bear that.

10 levels to go. push push push.

then another 10 in about about a month. push push push.

I finally got my second toon up to 70. My goal with him is to level through the content using only Wrath gear since he never has raided.
Kayhynn
I'm playing mainly on bronzebeard, but for my horde kick, I created The Taken, a RP guild made up of RL friends right now, on emerald dreams. If there was interest on the forums, I would consider opening it to forumites. As long as All understand it's a casual guild that will do some raiding eventually, but it's more for fun.
Sayuri Kajira
I'll join you. ...Horde, you say? I've got a level 34 Belf Hunter I could transfer over. Where she is right now is... well... boring.
Kayhynn
This is an RP PVP server. So it has RP elements, it has PVP elements. And I'm the highest level in the guild with a 24 lock, so if you wanted to sure =)

And yes, Horde
Sayuri Kajira
I'll transfer her to Bronzebeard tonight. I'm on a "full" server, so I'm eligible for a free one, anyway. Just look for Bridei. If you want to see how she's geared just go to the armory and look for Bridei on the Thorium Brotherhood server.
Kayhynn
Emerald Dreams is the RPPVP server I'm on

On Bronzebeard I'm Alliance
Sayuri Kajira
Ooh, well, either way I can do the transfer tonight. Its no big deal. I've been working on gearing up my pally in Argent Dawn for when WotLK comes out.
Kayhynn
Yeah. I forgot to do that. My Druid is doing well on it. Maybe shoul dget her done quick.

Wish I hadn't been as sick as I am. Makes gaming difficult
Sayuri Kajira
I got into a "leveling funk" with my Paladin a few days back. For whatever reason, I just didn't feel like leveling and now? I'm in a hurry to catch up. However, it leaves me in a quandary. I'll have a 70 Lock and a 70 Pally on my home server and I'm not sure which character to make my DK.
Kayhynn
Neither character is made into a DK. YOu make a new character that starts out at 55. You don't loose either one.
Sayuri Kajira
My problem is which one? A warlock DK or a Pally DK.
Kayhynn
what do you mean?
Vegos
You mean like...I'll make my rogue main into an "alternate" version of herself by making a DK?
Kayhynn
I heard rumors that the only way you can be a DK horde or alliance side is if you have a 55 level character on the side you want it on. Or if you want it on both, you have to have it on both.

Anyone know the truth?
Sayuri Kajira
I don't think we'll know totally for sure until it comes out and we download it.

Only one DK per server per account.

And yes you need a character with level at least 55 on a server before you can make a DK on it.
Sayuri Kajira
Which is why I'm in a tizzy. I've got two 70s on my home server.
Vegos
Yes but you'll keep both 70s after you make the DK. You won't "convert" a character you'll make a new one.
Sayuri Kajira
Blargh. So, lemme get this straight: I won't be turning an old character into one, I'll be making a brand new character that will just automatically be 55.

That's not what I was told in a Q&A with Blizzard. They said you just had to have a level 70 on the account and then you could make a 55 DK on any server. This was to help with people who have friends on multple servers but don't necessarily want to level up from scratch.

I'm asking one of my higher up wow contacts to see.

Yes.
Kayhynn
Just got my confirmation on these two questions:

Is it true that if you want a horde DK, you need to have a 55level toon Horde side?
No.

Do you have to have a level 55 on the server to create a DK on that server?
No. You just have to have a level 55 character on your account.
Sayuri Kajira
I quoteth: That be gay. It would have been nicer simply to conform an old character. Now if you can just make a new one starting at 55, what the hell? Or am I just missing the point? (Nerfed, much?)
Kayhynn
Missing the point. Originally you were going to have to have a quest to unlock the character.

Basically, the character is a class of its own. So it doesntm ake sense to have you convert a character when you'd have to relearn DK fighting either way. This way you keep your character, you have a powerful 55 character that you only have to level 25 levels to 80

Oopps Just got further clarifications:

On PVP realms you have to have a lvl 55 character of the side you want in order to play that side

It was meant to be like that.

QQ from people followed.
Sayuri Kajira
Well, its the same for acquiring a character on a PvP server. As far as I know, you cna only choose one side or the other, so it makes sense that you could only have one DK for the side you're on.
Kayhynn
Ahhh well. I'm gonna powerlevel my lock on ED then.

Kayhynn
She hit 24 the other night. I stopped playing her for a while to work up my druid on Bronzebeard. Got back to playing her, have my own guild, etc.
Sayuri Kajira
What is your guild on ED? I mean, the name. Just so I know where I'm applying to when I transfer.
Kayhynn
The Taken

It's from the 12 Taken in The Black Company. I couldn't use black company (Sad) so i took the next best

It's not like that method was any truer to the lore anyway.

All of the Death Knights are supposed to be ex-paladins from the time of the last war. It'd make no sense for any class who levelled up now to be able to become a DK. Unless Blizzard decided to change their lore again but at some point they need to accept that you can't have it every way.

Well WoW lore having two separate Death knight versions (Gul'dan's and Ner'zhul's), I wonder what next.

That is sadly no longer the case. Originally only races that could be locks AND paladins (humans and belfs) would be allowed to be death knights. Lore wise humans and belfs are also the ones to fight the scourge the most other then the forsaken and made the most sense as death knights. Now everyone can be a death knight and quite frankly, draeni death knights especially dont make any sense to me.

Yeah, because the lore surrounding Draenei (Blizzard's "Whoops, we needed another Alliance race so have some Russian squid things who are practically beings of pure light and are wonderful and good and aren't even a little bit mean and have a spaceship" race) is so established and solid.

WoW lore is a shallow thing to explain the workings of a game. Everybody is really a nice guy (all those evil orcs and undead are just totally misunderstood) and while the Alliance and the Horde are at war they only ever compete in games of capture the flag because we still totally hate the other guys grrr. It's a joke to expect consistency from them. They don't even have internal consistency - sometimes you get a quest chain that goes on for a while and establishes lore, the rest of the time you're wandering through a zone that is a particular colour for no real reason killing things to get a magic reward.

WoW lore is full of holes. However, I still think that it is one of the best designed MMO's out there, hands down. This may be simply because I prefer a more casual approach to games and dislike the idea of heavy death penalties, way to freaking many classes and a steep level curve. Games like EQ and Vangrind -er Vanguard are ok for some but a lighter atmosphere (like LotR, I liked the game at first, couldnt stand some of the mechanics though) is more my style.

Oh, and epics > lore
