Alright, I noticed that everyone was complaining because the LFG character quiz did pretty much suck, and everyone was talking about making a better one. So, being the grammatical genius and cunning linguist that I am, I thought that I would instigate our new thread. I really don't believe that a quiz about a group can be made accurately by anything but a group effort, so let us pool together as a community and make one.

To make one, we're going to need a good number of questions, some character descriptions, and, of course, a clever way of phrasing those questions so we don't exacerbate anybody's sense of self worth. I'll lead us off with the descriptin of my favorite character and our first question.

Richard: As lord of the thirteen hells, you have quite a reputation to uphold. But underneath the chipmunk necromancy, the fire-starting, the pillaging, and of course, the baby eating, you still think that Cale needs to learn how to get over his annoying self righteousness. Destruction and mayhem are nice, but you still prefer wholesale mass slaughter. And remember, it's not the size of the fwoosh, it's how you use it.

Question #1
As you walk through an old forest, you notice an old man struggling along the road with a load of timber. What do you do?
1. Offer to carry the load a distance.
2. Lift them by magic, and carry them for a gold piece.
3. Pick them up and throw them down the road a ways. You have places to go, you don't have time to backtrack.
4. Set them on fire, and laugh before stealing his wallet. And his shoes.
5. Carry them because you were told.
6. Watch him, and then just keep walking. Why do you care anyway?

I can only bring the second question, since I suck at reading characters...

Question #2
Oh Goody! You have found yourself a quest. But you need party members. How do you choose which ones to invite?
1. I choose the strongest, replacing them as someone stronger comes around.
2. I choose the first people I meet, gives us more time together to get to know each other.
3. I only choose people that I know, they are the most reliable and we already have a relationship going.
4. I didn't choose mine, I just tagged along with the others...
5. I choose the most valiant and just warriors I can find, together we can clence the world from evil.
6. I don't have a party, they are just people who feed and support me...

Both of these questions fall into the same trap that made the other quiz sub par (or so I'm guessing, I never bothered to look).

You need to either be hilariously obvious or subtle enough that people can't select who they come up as. Having an answer for each of the characters makes it even more obvious how to get the answer you want.

If you want to be subtle, you don't pose a hypothetical with specific answers. You ask a more generic question, like;

Which of the following do you most value:
Power
Knowledge
Truth
Convenience
Respect

Then you assign each answer a numeric value depending on how much it is like each particular character. It's a time consuming process to do it well.

It also helps to occasionally ask the same question in a slightly different form to make it more difficult for people trying real hard to get Richard.

Very true.

Screw multiple choice, unless specified as such.

Carry it all for him until he reaches said destination, than ask for a no pay job. Old forests are boring, and what would I do with money?

Start with good friends, regardless of how convenient or useful they would be. Then ask people whom I know, even if they arn't friends, or even like me.

This is for Quizilla, so we all can take it. So I would appreciate it if you guys would help me out instead of criticizing. Quizilla has to be in multiple choice format, so I can't just let them write their own answers becasue it won't grade them and give them an answer. So instead of criticizing and telling me everything is wrong, I would prefer you guys help me out and give me some ideas so that I can make something we all can enjoy.

Thank you

That's what I did.

It's called constructive criticism. I criticized a flaw and I offered a way to improve on it.
