Of course there are a few exceptions to this. First off the four paragraph rule doesn't apply to thread topics and there are cases if you are a poster like Verbose or Grym (naming because this is not negative) who regularly respond to 6 or more posts in one post. The 4 paragraph rule does not apply to for the total post but instead each individual response. The 4 paragraph limit is an approximate guess made by me and varies from person to person.
If you want to shorten your posts or generally make them easier to read here are a few tips:
- provide links to source(s), you won't have to write as much information this way and it will give your argument more credibility if your it is supported by someone reputable.
- Get strait to the point, this isn't an essay: introductions, conclusion, or any other kinds of fluff are unnecessary in posts.
- If you are going to use a custom color use one that is duller than the default color not brighter, other wise many people won't read it because it is irritates them.
- Proper spacing
- pronouns and acronyms.
