Just wondering, my posts appears to me to be zero, not sure when this updates? Im new to the forums, so no flaming please - just not sure when my posts will update from zero to what they actually are. Any help appreciated

How many posts have you made thus far? I see that you have made "one post".

The new skin seems to have messed that up, there's someone over in the Games section that's made a lot more than 6 posts, and that's all it shows for him. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I think the problem may just be for new people... Maybe the system is slow to update you at first because it is not 'used' to you?

PS- And I've just rebeat Murk's post count. Yeah.

Thanks for the advice. Hehe, that guy with '6' posts is the guy i've been arguing with for a while, and i'm also sure hes made more than six posts. And in answer to your question, Manta, I'm not entirely sure how many posts i've made, but i'm assuming its around 15 - 20.

I know! You're currently in the "Newbie" group. I think the update has wiped the post count of everyone in that group...

It may not be counting them properly as much as counting them at all. I see you've made two. The new skin may simply be counting what you've made from the time it was updated. I'm certain they're still playing around with it. After all, that's the best thing about being a webmaster: playing with your junk. *eyebrow wiggle*

That's the point... I'm slowly rebeating the people who got over my post count when I was gone... Admittedly, these are people who don't seem to have been posting as of late, but the basic point is the same.

If he isn't suppose to think how would he remember you discussed that?

If you post links or your posts are invisible they wont' count towards post counts. If you post only in the Games and Entertainment forum, none of those count (because all that is forum whoring and well..you folks don't need help with that with forum games adding toit)

Do links in signatures count? I'd hate to imagine going through my entire forum life as a RP information-bearing not-gaining-post-count "Advanced Member". I want me my custom title.

Edit: Actually, nevermind. I took a gander at my post count and it's most definitely moved up since I put the links in my signature.

Is there a way to make it so the posts in the Jibber jabber thread don't count? Allot of post counts would drop if it didn't.

No. It only counts if you're a newb (no posts) and you have links either within your sig or your first post. It flags the system, intentionally, as potential spam. It makes us moderators look at posts. It's why we keep asking people not to post links in their first 5-10 posts. Because we have to approve any and all posts made with links in them if they are that low.



No. Only if we made the whole forum category not count towards post count (that means all GD wouldn't count)

Well that must be a bother. I was wondering why you didn't want new members posting links, now I know.

Yeah. Before we got the bot in and even after for a while, we got hit with a ton of spam. still do. and sometimes its hard to tell between spam and not with new members.
