Richard has pants beneath the robe... what a revelation! also what are they planning to do to that poor fort and its garrison?
Tariel Maeda
Hmmmm. Rich is no Jareth the Goblin King as far as dancing goes, but he'll do. laugh.gif
Vearl
Heh, "I'm adding Lord of the Dance to my titles".

I like Benny's expression in panel six too. tongue.gif

(My first post!)
Jakx
I have a feeling the fort is about to get a new pain color.. Red.. Curtesy o' Richard. And lo and behold! Richard has a new title! Benny's face at that announcement made me laugh so hard.
MrEasterband
As good it is to see that Richard isn't "going comando" under his robes, the image of his pants and legs will still haut me...

I also agree with Richard on his aspect on the Battlemages, they are not good at fighting, and their spells only enhances their close-combat skills (At least that is the experience I've had with Battlemages).

And I just noticed... THEY HAVE TWO MOONS! Now how cool is that!?
foxeye
"Battlemage? That’s not a profession; it barely qualifies as a hobby."

Rofl, also Richard has pants!

I admit it, I giggled out loud. And I'll have to keep that in mind when I'm RPing Richard. "I'm Richard, Chief Warlock of the Brothers of Darkness, Lord the Thirteen Hells, Master of the Bones, Emperor of the Black, Lord of the Undead, mayor of a little village up the coast, Lord of the Dance."

:3 It's brilliant.

And look at his expression in panel seven! He's so happy about his new title! D'aaaaaw. I'll dance with you Richard!

This is actually rather funny, because Richard got "LOLed" (think "cursed") into being a hopeless romantic today in my RP and he wound up dancing with one of the people he was flirting with. It was amazing.
Lunaya
If I were Benny, I'd probably be frightened too. Pella looked kind of amused, though. Shake it, Richie! XD

Ironically, I just started back with my hula lessons today.
MantaLord
Wow... This comic is amazing.

<=== And I have a new title as well.
Maniac
That's brilliant, Manta. I bow to you, Lord of the Dance.

Sure... Once you rack up 500 posts.
Rae-Rae =^.^=
If Richard is the Lord of the Dance, what does that make Cale?

Also, a query about the plot rather than the gimmick: What's the group doing at the outpost? Starting that slice through the region Cale promised? Getting a hold of Krunch's daddy and kin?

I hope it's both biggrin.gif
JosyWales
I think its both.
MadMel
benny's face in panel 6 = priceless! laugh.gif

And on a completly unrelated note, there's more than one moon orbiting round the planet.

Ha! I bet if Richard shows off his moves when Cale is watching that will come shortly...And then a fwoom, because he is no longer a little Dick.

It makes Cale best friend of the lord of the dance?
I think it is a case of 'all of the above'.
Some vengance, a little rescue, a hint of wanton destruction, fun for the whole family!
richardthebest
richard dancing with his skirt/robe up reminds me of Micheal Jackson.

Doesnt anyone else notice this because Richard has pale skin and so does Micheal Jackson. also i think i recall Micheal Jackson referring himself as Lord of the Dance as well.
CrystalSuicune
Frosun,I'm VERY sure Sohlar got inspiration from a certain
piccer you drew.I'M SURE.
I wonder what's more hilarious,Richard's dance routine...or Benny's
face in panel 6.
As for richardthebest's post...NO.Just...no.Richard's too awesome
to be compared to a mere MJ.

And I think Richard would start investing on lightning magic once
he plays Mario Kart DS.

I think Richard's expression in panel 7 answers Krunch's question. Good to see ol' Richie is expanding on his dancing skills. And we got a glimpse of what lies within Richard's robes-

blink.gif

Even I found that disturbing.

Bennies expression in panel six is priceless.

Wait... Richard added the title of "Lord of the Dance".. And yet two panels earlier he said it was as impressive as being a Battlemage... So if Richard takes on the title, does that make Battlemages as impressive as him? Or him as impressive as a-- I'm going to stop right there, for fear of being fwoom'd in my sleep.

Hehehehe now that makes me think of a Denis Leary skit on "Fully Loaded" about Lord of the Dance... any connection??

Yikes, I saw his knees!!!!
He who is darkness.
so it was night but perhaps the 2 moons would explain the highlighting of parts on the people in the previous comic

OMG that look on benny's face is PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tobrian
Aw, Richard looks so happy, like a happy little boy, in panel 7. Almost like chibi-Richard in the nursery.

Also, that panel should be included in any D&D dictionary under "alignments" wink.gif :
"See the lawful and neutral characters making battle plans, while the chaotic evil character dances around humming to himself, not even paying attention."

I'm not sure if Richard is aware of it (and if so would he care?), but his attitude is like a giant kick in Krunch's face. "Yeah yeah, tactics, blablabla, tell me when you guys are done talking and ready to go slaughter some people. Until then I'll be in the other room playing GuitarHero."

QUOTE(Night @ Feb 14 2008, 06:06 AM)
Richard has pants beneath the robe... what a revelation!

I may have been scarred for life by that image.
Richard wears red knickerbockers? huh.gif Er... at least I hope those are breeches. Um... considering that his legs from the knee down seem to be nearly skeletal/mummified, maybe those red things are skinless exposed thigh muscles? unsure.gif ohmy.gif (I need a green vomit smiley here ASAP!)

Which raises the dire question: How does Richard smell? mellow.gif (Please, no "dog with no nose" puns) Didn't he make a remark about "when you're undead you stop worrying about personal hygiene" or something some time ago? Or am I hallucinating that?

Seriously, this update rekindles the fires of my old hypothesis that Richard used to be a woman in life. That, or he's really really campy. tongue.gif

QUOTE(Night @ Feb 14 2008, 06:06 AM)
also what are they planning to do to that poor fort and its garrison?

Send in Richard like a small mobile tactical weapon?
I wonder will the garrison's clerics be able to stop him with shield spells like Benny has? or by blocking Richard's magics?, or was that a special ability of Lord Stoll's shamans?

I wonder why the gate is open. huh.gif I mean, huge fort, built from stone, with big fat walls, but the front door is open, and there's no sentries? No guards? Odd. Did Cale or Richard already kill them?

Nitpicks:

How did Cale (and Pella) find out so much? Exact numbers of soldiers, wizards, clerics, that's rather precise info. Did Cale climb the highest trees next to the fortress and took a peek? Did he make himself invisible with ancient elven mojo and just wander in through the door? Did he and Pella disguise themselves as wandering apple sellers?

Wait, two moons, and both are in the same phase? Er, I'm not an astronomer, but is that even possible? huh.gif What would be the orbital mechanics? Ok, it's a fantasy world, i'll stop thinking about this. tongue.gif It's probably a homage to some 1980s fantasy art by Larry Elmore. Fantasy artists always seem to draw multiple moon like this.

I could be picky and point out the lack of arrow slits and crennelations and those thingies... what are they called in English? machicolations?... over the gate where defenders traditionally poured down the hot tar on attackers and door-to-door salesmen... wink.gif Not to mention they didn't clear the trees and underbrush from the surroundings; you know, the stuff that attackers can use to hide in, or set fire to. But I'll let it slide. The fortress looks cool.
Rip Van Ishmael
Pants, huh? Weeeel, that puts my mind at ease. Sorta. At first I thought the red was just the lining of his robes, but since everybody keeps yellin 'PANTZ!!1' I looked again.

Briefly. (Certain circumstances (read: images) have caused any thought of what might be under them robes to be a mite....traumatizing.)

Heehee. Pantaloons. This makes me wonder....is he really that thin, or is he wearing a corset as well, to get that twig-waist popular amongst the females of the 'pantaloon' era?

Panel 7 is funny as hell. I look at it and I can hear Richard saying 'Shooka shooka shooka' whilst he shakes what his unholy magicks gave him.

As for anything else on this page? Not much comment, because it's really hard to pay attention to anything other than Boogie Richard. He must be doing something right.

...Boogie Richard!!! That should totally be a childrens toy. In a 'Tickle-Me-Hellmo' kinda way, only cooler, because its Richard. And it would eat the children after tormenting, torturing, traumatizing and otherwise destroying their fragile little minds. Saves the cleanup.
Kinda_Mayvelle
...'Tickle-Me-Hellmo'? That is awesome. XD

I think it was a case of him showing off how silly 'Lord of the Dance' is, and then going "Saaaaaaay...I'm pretty good at this..."
Robaire
I wonder if they're gonna try to cloak and dagger it a bit, and try to gain a tactical foothold inside first.
Mr. Shadow
I think so, I highly doubt they'll storm the castle by force.
Powerful adventurers or not, that's an army in there.

There's probably a whole lot that isn't done with the fort considering it's still under construction. Yeah, you see the walls, but that's about all that it shows of the thing. Granted, it may very well just be a very poorly planned out fort because they don't expect much opposition from much of anything.

As for "I doubt they'll storm it, there's still an army in there". It's an army of like 200. Richard could handle that alone. >_> Add in some well placed arrows(Cale needs to go back to shootin' those), a huge hammer, a couple axes, and some magical shields, and it's gfg army.

And really, what's so weird about Pantaloons? Christopher Walken supports pantaloons. And if Christopher Walken endorses it, it must be good.
The gF
Haah. With two moons that large, tides would be insane, and on nights when they were both full it would be as bright as day. XD

I imagine it's possible, you know? The moons are certainly at different orbits, which means that they COULD conceivably be viewed from some point on the planet as having the same phase at the same time.
Crognin
omg I think this is the first time I've seen Richard's feet... And you can see his toes! LOL
Twinklebones should be his new title. Lord of the Dance is too cliche. ;p
