Hello
i was wondering if anyone can recommend some good books that have to do with a fantasy realm (complete with witches, warlocks and all the other goodies)
i also ordered two books today
One was "The Alefin Warlock" by Drew J. Cormack
and "The Sword of Shannara" by Terry Brooks
has anyone read either of them?

Would you like some atypical fantasy books?
Cause Wyrm and The Dungeon series are both great fantasy reads. In first and third person(limited) respectively.

For fantasy, i would have to say the Demon Wars sagas by R.A. Salvatore can never disappoint.

i would have to second Song of ice and fire, very good series.
I also really like The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind
i dont know if this would technically count as what you are looking for but the Incarnations of Immortality, by Piers Anthony is also good. and can never go wrong with the Xanth series (as long as puns dont fill you with hate that is)
Blue Adept (dont remember the name of the series, but thats at least one of the books.
Serpentwar Saga, Riftwar Legacy, Conclave of Shadows by Raymond E. Fiest
Discworld
oh and another good one is The Godslayer Chronicles by James Clemens (only 2 books so far to my knowledge but loved em and want more)
erm...theres a bunch more i just cant think of them all right off the top of my head
hope that helped :)

But if you have a weak stomach for overblown monologues that express the writer's questionable views, try and stick to the first two or three books.
Towards the end, sometimes you have five or six pages of "dialogue" to wade through before something happens, then they repeat the conversation again in a slightly different way.

How about " Satanic Verses" by Salman Rushdie ... it's fantasy

, fantasy because almost all the guys who translated the book from a language to another suicided themselves after reading it

He was looking for fantasy, not sci-fi.
But hitchhikers is an excellent read. I need Life, The Universe, and Everything now.
