well, umm...check out some of the topics, we are still in a holy-war of sorts versus the WoW purists and those with a more open(Heretical)-mind. These deluded fools have suggested that our beloved priestess is a troll, while she has clear orcish features, some people still remain unenlightened and hold fast to their archaic belief that fantasy realms besides WoW can exist.

In my opinion the races (at the least) stink of WoW influence. I am starting to think the priestess is an orc. Who really cares if orcs can't be priests in WoW? (Same with Richard casting ice spells. Even if this is purely based on WoW it doesn't mean the authors can't put their own spin on it every once in a while.) However, even if she is an orc she resembles the Warcraft female orcs more then any orc female I have seen.

Now I admit the only MMOs I have ever played are World of Warcraft and City of Heroes/Villains so I may be a bit biased, but if you can show me pics of other MMOs that will make me say "oh this reminds me of LFG" then I will concede the point to you. However the orc priestess and ice-blasting warlock honestly doesn't seem enough to me proof to me. (Especially since WoW mages can do the same thing Richard does).

I am sorry, but I just have yet to see something that does not look like it could be in WoW. However if you can show me the kind of pic that I requested I will at least try to stay open minded.

Come to think of it has Sohmer or Lar ever posted anything that would put anything to just end this feud? (Such as "yes it is based on WoW" or "yes it is a Mix of MMOs"?) If not then how come? It would save a lot of headaches and stop more clutter from coming in. If so then can someone link it to me. (Since they are the authors I don't really have a choice but to agree with them. Well I could just live in denial but I am just not that closed minded.)

I understand you all like the idea Benny is an orc, but would it be impossible for you guys to accept the hypothesis that maybe the first tought "She's green = orc" is wrong, and think about this:
She is somehow tall (tough she's female so not as tall as male Trolls), REALLY slender (remember, female orcs look like wrestlers...), she has 3 finger per hand -without any sign of amputation (and also look morphogically like no more finger could have been added to them)-; same for her two toes.
And finally, she's a priestes,, wich Trolls can easily be without having to complicate your life thinking about how the rules are or are not bended.
Also, Orcs, in LFG, look like those merry fellows here:
Benny ( ) has white eyes while the orcs have them red or yellow, funky hair color, a neck XD, really paler shade of green, long nose, etc. etc.
She also has, if you ask me, more of a Troll personality: she's sly, clever, talkative and profits of people like Cale to protect her while she laugh at the situation.
Orcs have honor and quite a more physicaly-violent behavior.

So yeah, she is not extremely tall, but the fact she's not muscular at all strikes more the eyes, actually...

Now, as a ending note, those are the facts I present you to prove my point, I am not forcing them on you with a giant hammer; but I ask you consider them with your logic and come to a conclusion.

Now, as for another character, I don't really think anyone will be added to the main cast, but maybe recurring secondary characters would appear. In that case, I'd like another female character; but one with, like, some decent clothing and a badass attitude or something. lol XD
And as it seems everyone understand the same language, maybe some Alliance (woe is them!) characters could be introduced...

Well, I am actually eagerly waiting for tangile conterpoints. So now I have heard "too short" (valid), "smells like an orc" (allow me to say, unvalid ._.), "orc attitude" wich I countered in my last post and "doesn't have a Troll accent" (wich may be valid, but actually, everyone in the comic speaks the same language and understand themselves (Alliance like Horde) and thus nobody should have an accent.)

But anyways, I didn't meant to try to assassinate the poor little defenseless topic. Everyone can keep asking for the character they'd like; I said mine: I want a strong, if possible clothed female character. XD

I'm sure this has been heavily INFLUENCED by WoW, but that's just because it's become so ubiquitous. That in no way means that it keeps to WoW and only WoW.

Of course, since she doesn't fit any category; he's basically crafting a new race, like what tolkein did with elves. or terry pratchett did with orcs; so it doesn't really matter what race she's described as. He could call Gid a human, a Cenataur, or even "zomgsohmerpwnsj00" and itd have the same effect.

The LFG name shows that this comic is based on MMOs. Since these characters do not act like they are in an MMO I beleive the suroundings and characters must match with other MMOs (NOT THE PLOTS. He can copy the plots from as many books as he wants and it wouldn't ruin the theme even if everything else was WoW based.) Thus I feel that if she isn't a troll or an orc then she is a race from a diffrent MMO otherwise why name the comic LFG. You don't hint at an MMO theme if it was just any old midevil fantasy theme. Also why can't she be a troll. In WoW it is not that hard to make a female troll that looks just like her. Come to think of it those earings look just like the earings of the female trolls in WoW. (Granted there should be a second pair of smaller earings, but that is just too detailed.)

Why do people feel the need to argue about this?

So you noticed that there are a lot of WoW parallels. You're a genius! Of course, since this is a webcomic and one that is aimed at parody as well as original humor, there's going to be a bunch of stuff that doesn't match up to what you might expet from WoW.

Does it even really matter what you call it? God's teeth, there shouldn't be nearly so much discussion and debate on such a stupid topic. Enjoy parallels as you see them, but don't act like the comic is going to be logically consistent throughout and will consitently supply cannon evidence to support your claims.

Lars and Sohmer will use what parts of WoW they see fit, and exclude any that don't suit their purposes.
