In the trailer for the latest installment int he Alone In The Dark game series, the nice, creepy lady says that Central Park conceals a secret. The creature that we see a moment later fits the classic description of the wendigo (vaguely humaniod, freaky claws, tears up the ground it walks on, downright ugly. . .) Wendigos are known for living in wooded areas, which might be a nice explaination for the 'Central Park conceals a secret' bit of the trailer. They are also sometimes reputed to go to sleep for a very long time after having fed, which might also explain why this creepy little devil hasn't made an appearance sooner. Also, it was believed that a person could actually go 'wendigo,' giving up their humanity in the process. This might account for that 'something escaped from the afterlife' bit. Any thoughts on this theory?
