Excuse my ignorance, but what happened?

I believe this is relevant to the Omaha Mall shooting if I'm correct. In this instance an emotionally troubled 19 year old decided to go to the Mall and proceeded to shoot and kill eight people (9, including himself) along with wounding five. He apparently wanted to "Go out with a Bang and be remembered" from what was said in his suicide note. Check out CNN or some other news network for more detailed information.

My blessings to anyone who lives in that area, good to hear your safe.

At any rate, it is good to hear that neither of you was hurt. I can only imagine what it must have been like to hear the news report say where a shooting took place.

No. However as its a bigger mall I had been considering going shopping sometime this week up there. We're less than 60 miles away and Omaha is where many commute to and our office does a lot of work in that city too from time to time, so the chance of me being up there at lunch time was very likely, though thankfully no.

Good thing. I don't think we could have handled a funeral.

In any case, I hope all is well for those living in Nebraska.
