I love animals. I really do, as of such, I have decided to start a topic in which to share your pet pictures, stories and such.
As a starter, I present to you : New pics from last night!
JF and Mel (2 of my good friends) brought their 3 babies home with them. From left to right : Tom, Lilly and Freya

Same bunch but add my Ebony on the right

My Titan sneaking up on Saïd

the Fat Saïd

Top to bottom : Molly, Saïd and Calypso

And, as a finale, a series of Titan/ebony action in an old lampshade thingy that they never get tired of playing in

I think I might have a few pets too many O_o

I can't say I disagree there ghis

Um...sorry, just couldn't resist. Stay on topic, Forkie, stay on topic!
...
Anyway, I have one cat (called Socks, guess why), and two rabbits, Buster and Tuffet (both lop-eared). I may upload pictures at a later date.
It's my serious hope you never have to use your E.A.F.S., Sayuri. Too nice a cat to eat, even for me. (Has anyone else noticed that it seems to be saying "help me" into the camera?).

Yes. Places like Photobucket allow you to set up an account and dump pictures on their servers. They even give you the apropriate links to post your images. It's free and easy to use. Give it a try.
Alternatively, you can go check out places like imageshack

Ghis, I absolutly love your ferrets, I've had around 10 hamsters in my childlife and a few gerbils, and a few rabbits

but never had a ferret and wish I had a chance to own one. They look just so loveable.
I currently have a Boxer named Tyson and two very fat cats that have been in my family for up to 13 years. The cats don't usually show around, but here's my dog sleeping as usual.

(be careful enlarging the image, it's large and i don't feel like sizing it)

Aw, that's too bad!

Maybe he will change his mind when they get a little older? I hope he will!
Bunnies are very fun pets, especially if you train them as housepets rather than cagepets. They're extremely loving animals, especially the females. We've had three females over the years (all complete sweethearts) and one male (kind of a grump). They're excellent compaions because they always want to cuddle and cheer people up!
Gotta have them neutered/spayed, though. They live much longer that way.

Oh yes. Unless you train them not to, they will do both those things! Luckily ours are (mostly) obediant girls.

I love animals but I have enough of my own, 11 cats and a chinchilla, not inbcluding the 10 cats that live in my backyard and come looking fo food. I'd show pictures, but they're so blurry cuz none of my pets stand still long enough, its practically impossible to get a good shot of them.

Nov 26 2007, 03:45 AM
That reminds me of a Family that lived in Naples, Florida (i don't live so ya know

) They had TONS of cats EVERYWHERE! And they had the biggest cat I've ever seen. I don't remember his name but it was orange and it liked to lay on beds. And is super fast at chasing string
Tiamat the Divine
Nov 26 2007, 03:51 AM
Cats are very fast, sometimes it's like the kentucky derby when they all start chasing eachother around the house, it's funny until they almost trip you.
I use to have lots of other animals other than cats. But sadly all the other animals died and all that was left were the homeless cats in our backyard that one by one came into the house and became members of the family.

I actually went to my friends house about a week ago and his cats were hogging the sofa

They won't budge for anything. The only way to get them off is to sit on them and they will eventually move to another spot.
Tiamat the Divine
Nov 26 2007, 04:00 AM
That's what I do when the cats take up the chairs and couches, there's no point in picking them up and moving them, they can move themselves. They love sitting on anything that is soft, puffy, and cushiony, even clothing. I hate it when they sit on my clothing, especially the clothing I pick out for the day, their fur gets everywhere and it's so hard to clean off.
Verbose
Nov 27 2007, 12:45 AM
I hate animals that aren't mine.
See, it's not the animal that bothers me. I've loved all three or four of the pets I've had. The problem is that other people don't teach their animals to behave properly and it makes me want to step on their back, crushing their spine.
I am aware this may be a deep-seated emotional issue but it's so annoying when an animal jumps up on you without permission or gets in your face.
The Fork of Truth
Dec 1 2007, 11:43 PM
Agreed. I don't like those dogs that have an internal supply of coffee and jump up and bark all the time. Even some smaller dogs do that as well in my experience. I've got a slight fear of dogs now...well, not a fear, really, more of a wariness. Cats are much better, in my opinion, and most are pure evil.
This is how our cat (whose name is Socks, unorigional I know, but it suits him) adopted us.
PHASE 1: Sit at bottom of garden. Look adorable.
PHASE 2: Size up rival cat.
Results: Rival is old and shouldn't be much of a problem. Prepare for future skirmishes with her.
PHASE 3: Infiltatrate building. Have a few meals a week there.
PHASE 4: Gradually explore building. Spend more time there.
PHASE 5: Assure residents that I am "theirs".
PHASE 6: Take up full residence. Abondon old home.
PHASE 7: Decieve humans into being my slaves.
Results: Perfect.
Phase 8: Get humans to give me ham and such on demand. (Still in progress. Humans are disobedient in this matter).

I'm having to take pains to not steal my little sisters' cats from them. The two that they have are living proof that cats are losing the domestication battle. They scuttle to my mood and wishes without any real benefit to them since I never feed them and only rarely let them in or out of the house.
One of them also comes when I call with only a slight hesitation. It's a shame, really. Another couple of decades and cats will basically be snooty dogs.

Dec 2 2007, 01:04 AM

Cats are basically horrible bastards at the moment.
Verbose

They survived hundreds of years of close contact with humans with a lot less changes to them than most of the other animals that did it.

The kind of cat you'd like is what's become of them from human contact. Feral cats are closer to what they once were, as are some farm cats.
We tend to domesticate and then humanise animals.

Dec 2 2007, 02:01 AM

And while I may be remembering incorrectly, I think house cats are the only cats world over that continue to torture small animals through adulthood. Mostly they stop once they pass through adolescence.

No, I have a cat which hunts but is a perfect lap-cat(Although she does nibble if you pet her for too long), and then my aunt has a cat which is a demon, it hisses if you think about going near it. And it attacks if you do.

It's because the housecats don't have to rely on the animals for food. Though my sisters cat might not torture them, all we've seen of the squirrels she catches are the tails.

They are, they have enslaved the human race. They allow their peasants to wallow in their delusions of superiority while we serve them.
I've never been much of a pet person. For some reason though, I attract dogs, whenever I visit someone who owns a dog the dog is all over me most of the time, even if I'm not the only one visiting.
