Just bored here so I will start the Thanksgiving thread.
Basically just talk about what you are going to do this thanksgiving.
I will be in charge of some of the food for a feast we are putting on for my grand-mum.
Not doing too much during thanksgiving. Just shopping and cooking. (and occasionally going over to my friends' houses

)

Thanksgiving is mostly an american holiday. We have bunches and tons of non-americans.

Yeah, a holiday celebrating the subjugation of a people's culture, brutal murder and theivery. Sounds good to me.
I also bitch about Columbus Day, and will probably be in a bad mood around Christmas and Easter, so expect sarcastic comments/yelling.

I won't be the one to start those threads then.

I don't say thank you. It would seem like a lie. Mostly because I'm not thankful.

Hmm, you're starting to sell the idea to me. I like where this is going. Please, explain further.

I am certainly thankful for the three days off that I have and will be heading home to see my family in New York.

I plan on flipping off every car we see on the way up to Michigan, it's a good way to stop feeling cranky.

Indeed, when is subjugation, brutal murder, and theivery not reason for celebration?

Nothing like a little self abuse to make a meal special.
Grym
Nov 18 2007, 01:14 AM
No, the gravy almost completely neutralizes the spicy, leaving just a little tang and giving the gravy a great flavor.

sweet I'll try it. No! I'll get my sister to try it so I know you aren't just saying it.

I haven't quite figured out what I am going to do for Thanksgiving. Considering I'm half-Cherokee, I should be stomping around all repressed (I mean, if Al Sharpton can do it, why can't I?) but instead, I'm going to let loose and be like every other stereotypical native american and just get plastered drunk. ...With a turkey leg in my hand, of course.

I didn't think that thanksgiving was that big of a deal anymore, is it still important over there?

Its like the food pre-game to Christmas' SuperBowl. It huge! Not as big as expecting a dirty fat guy to break into your house, eat your food and leave you lead-infested plastic toys... but still a big part.

Nov 19 2007, 07:25 PM
And, perhaps not surprisingly, the Superbowl is bigger than your chief religious/pagan ceremony. Huzzah, organised sports. Huzzah.

Do you guys know how much money people use for a Thanksgiving dinner?
Bose
Nov 19 2007, 08:19 PM
My thanksgiving will go as follows:
11AM Wake up to parents screaming about me needing to help out around the house before company arrives.
12Noon Parents give up trying to make me get out of bed and just send in the dogs
1230PM Dogs have settled down for a nap
1PM finally roll out of bed
130PM Sneak out for a few hours at the gym
330PM Arrive back home to parents asking where i've been. Avoid telling the truth at all costs
530PM sit down for dinner with parents friends that i absolutely can't stand
730PM start drinking
745PM Switch from wine to Jack Daniels and/or Jim Beam
830PM Continue drinking until i am rip-roaring drunk
4AM Friday morning. Roll out of bed with massive hangover to go do the absurd shopping for the day.
12Noon Friday. Be in jail for shoving an ipod up some pissed off shoppers ass because they are stupid enough to complain about the lines at the local best buy on black friday.
I still can't figure out why I bother shopping on black friday, but since I turned 21 and found liquor, I find it a much more enjoyable experience.

I think today I'll move about a total of twenty, twenty five feet between desk and bed and back.

Get a laptop. It minimalizes the movement.

You lack vision, laxative's are clearly the superior seasoning for this meal.

Now see this can easily be solved by making an un-seasoned batch for your grandmother and yourself, or you could buy some Depends, whichever you prefer.

My roommate works Thursday. Serving food, coincidentally XD I'll probably stop by work to help her out though, her mom is buying us a dinner as well. Won't be too bad I guess. I'm looking forward to Friday though (not for the shopping, dear god that's torture!), a couple of friends and I are going out to a sushi bar o_O

That sucks. I feel bad for you. I'm sure you'll be able to sneak some time off of company computers to talk to us.
My family is having our *official* thanksgiving on caturday. I think it's because then we get max family members. I don't see why we cannot just go to my mom's sister's house, like we have done most years. They've got some kind of fricking mansion. And bunches of food. *sigh*

Simple step procedure to answer you.
(1)Re-read it.
(2)Then read it again.
(3)Deep fry your computer.
(4)Repeat steps 1-3 until you understand.
