I was going back through the comic, this time actually scanning through the background of the panels, looking for amusing things. I found something I never noticed before, and I wonder if anyone else has.

On that page, it shows Richard in the background juggling fire. In the last panel, it also shows a flaming skeleton falling off a balcony. In early strips we see sentries on the balcony.

Anyone ever notice that before?

I half-noticed the Pg 93 one.. I believe I noticed something odd the first time through and just ignored it so I could keep on reading. Richard is just entertaining to watch in general I suppose. Whether it's subtle (falling skeletons) or blatant.. him playing with severed human arms.

Though, if anyone notices anything I'd appreciate it if they shared XD I sorta hope there's other people out there who really aren't too observent.. I only found that one thing because I was actually looking for things in the background.

I love the severed arm thing. That...that is pure genius.

And I totally, completely missed the flaming skeleton. All I caught was Richard juggling, and left it at that. *pops self upside the head* Bad me!! I should know that Richard would not settle for merely entertaining himself with parlor tricks if someone wasn't going to die!!

Heh, that opens up a whole new scenario. He's just standing there, innocently juggling. Suddenly theres only two fireballs, instead of three, and one sentry instead of two. XD

Anyone else notice that the shamans spell on page 24 is just them repeating "Hummina" over and over? Notice at the middle of the page inbetween the orcs horns.

Anyone else notice that the shammies all look like Berke Breathed characters?

Not specific ones, mind you, just the way in which they were drawn. Especially the longfaced one on the far right of panel 7.

This one is rather obvious, so it'll be a surprise if anyone's missed it, but I'm mentioning it just 'cause I love it so much.
It's on page 36, in the second-to-last panel. Cale is being tugged into the portal by the Shriek and the little girl and Richard is waving at him with a tiny white handkerchief. XD So amazing. XDDD

Oh, and here's one from the latest comic! Notice Cales Face-palm... He only has three fingers! Where are his others? The position of his hand should allow us to see all 5 of his fingers (Or at least some knuckle) but mysteriously, it only shows him having three fingers in total!

I mentioned in another thread that I think Lar drew it that way so he could both have a face palm AND have the expression under the hand be seen.

Though someone else mentioned a temple rub, and just at the keyboard I can my thumb and middle finger on each temple, index finger on my forehead in such a way that maybe the index finger would hide both the middle and ring fingers and then the pinky finger more out in the air and visible.

I'm putting way too much brain power into this.

Can't believe we're still debating this. To me, it actually looks like Cale is rubbing his eyes with two fingers.

Yeah, I'm going with the eyes/temple rub here :-p

Yeah, it could be that, and I'd support it IF there were more than three knuckles. Look closely. I didn't say "It only shows three fingers", I said it only shows three fingers and three knuckles. It doesn't matter what you do with your fingers, you can't hide where your knuckles should be.

I know Opus, I just don't really think about it that much XD (And I honestly didn't know he was the one who does it either)

The position of Cale's hand makes me just think the other fingers are tucked under his palm, but you're right, you probably should be able to see the knuckles.

Also, with the handkerchief, it took me a few times to actually notice it
