http://lfgcomic.com/page/39Look at the comic carefully notice the people pushing the siege weapon... they are in chains, and look pretty devolved... I found it very interesting that their horns have been cut off.
Just thought this was interesting and I missed it till I looked back for a different post
Also if you notice the helm of the vulti at the top is in the shape of a dragon... foreshadowing? I think so!

I think it's an interesting subject to talk about, actually. How did Krunch's people go from Chained Ones, slaves who could not, apparently, speak and were forced to work war machines and handle heavy manual labor, to Krunch the scholar, and his father the well-known lover of expansionism? Was there an entire civil war that led to their emancipation? A revolt? A shift in power?

It could be that there were two groups: the enslaved Minotaurs, and the idependant tribes. I think that the slaves would never be taught to speak in the first place, whereas the tribal ones would be.

This has been discussed several times over. As has how Krunch's people went from chained ones to...ya know...Krunch.

And please, it's Vulii. I hate to nitpick, but...every single time.

Okay, I do love it. But I try not to do it, anyway. But when you see the same mistake over and over....

I've seen Vulii spelled so many different ways now o_O;;; I'd go back and look how it's spelled in the comic, but I'm lazy >.< Notoriously lazy.

Maybe the "Chained Ones" formed a union under Jimmy Hoofa or something? Maybe that got them awesome benefits like not having to push siege towers?

Its an interesting thing, but its been done. Though i must admit, i have always been intrigued about the krunch thing. Though i have always been happy to assume it will be explained in the comic. *shrugs*

Yeah it's been pointed out before, though I either missed or forgot the cut horn thing.
As to from Gamlon/Kathenica -----> Krunch and such, we really can't know. There could have always been free "chained ones". If not, the fall of the social order with Kathencia would have provided the oppurtunity for at least some to be freed.
Either way though, I get the impression that Krunch, aside from personally rising above the intellectual tide of his people as a scholar, is a visionary who would like to raise his people up in knowledge across the board. Not in the Cale'anon "I swear this oath" sort of way, but in the take the chances as the come and we'll see.
After all, he's practical, and when you want to raise a people up in knowledge, so few want to get up.
