I have this crazy notion that there are other musicians here in the LFG forums. Just out of sheer boredom, curiosity, and a sense of fun list what instruments you have in your collections.
List format example: (no these are not my instruments, they're just an example of reply formatting...)
1. Fender Stratocaster (6-string electric guitar)
2. B.C. Rich Warlock (6-string electric guitar)
And so on, so forth....
My instruments:
1. 1965 Gibson SG eb0 modified (4-string bass with original pickups replaced with an emg select sehb)
2. Yamaha RBX-374 (4-string active bass)
3. Yamaha F-310cs (6-string cherry sunburst acoustic guitar)
4. Jackson Warrior XT (6-string electric guitar)
Remember, this is just for fun, no flaming if you don't like what someone else plays/owns.

All I have is a cheap saxophone made by some unknown brand. I got what I paid for it, 'cause it breaks spontaneously every couple months.
In the future, I would like to pick up a stringed instrument again, such as an electric violin. I played the viola back in elementary school, so a 5-string would be neat.

I've got a nice little CR-50 bass guitar. It cost me $120 and plays better than most $500 basses I've played.

Rae-Rae =^.^=

All love for the ska... but you still need a trombone. A brass band can easily double as ska, but according to I Voted for Kodos... nobody likes ska
Auzzie-Phoenix
Nov 8 2007, 07:52 AM
Probably because all the good ska is gone... you just don't have groups like mighty mighty bosstones, save ferris, etc... floating around anymore. I think the only decent one still left might be reel big fish.. but then again, I could be wrong and they could be gone too...
as a completely unrelated note: I think if lfg were animated, the person who does killface's voice on frisky dingo would be a good person to play richard...
Back on topic: Boss mt-2 metalzone distortion pedals are great

That sounds sexy
and uncomfortable.
People are my instruments and I play them fluently. But I'm not interested in music. It's so non-reflective. Too hard to accurately assess the performer because you can't be certain when you have the same writer to build up a baseline of their performance. I prefer words to meaningless sound.

LONG LIST OF INSTRUMENTS
Did you start on reeds or brass first? I'm having a hard time adjusting to playing brass instruments after playing the alto sax for seven years. >_> I can't play a trumpet to save my life, but I can make noise on a tuba and trombone, though it effing hurts.

I "play" bass on an old, used black Barracuda Bass. I got it in a pawn shop and never got around to buy myself an amp. I'm not really good either.

Good for you Ghis, Guitar Center is for wimps. I got my bass at a shop owned by a guy who has to be getting close to 100 years old, and the damn chain has nearly put the guy out of business. Really nice guy too.

I want to get a hubjo one day.
It's a banjo made with a hubcap, for those not In The Know. I won't play it but it's good to have a few useless things about the house. It's why we have children, after all.

I play the Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Tuba....well any Brass instrument, the Alto Sax, Percussion, Piano, and a little vocal. I spent 3 years in college studying to be a Music teacher...then I got a degree in Nuclear Engineering.
I own a Trumpet---Bach Stratavarious (Silver and Gold not brass)
Cornet---Conn (Brass)

I started with the clarinet my first year, then the tenor sax (that I played the longest and the best), and over the years I just tried out some of my friends instruments. I do use their instruments, cause the good ones cost A LOT!

BASSOOOOOOOOON

I have an ANCIENT bassoon (50+ yrs, not 100% sure just how old) that my grandpa found while in europe during WW2, had no idea what it was but thought it looked too cool not to buy it in an antique shop in england.
It's name is worn (it's wooden, not one of those crappy plastic ones that band teachers give their students) and has the warmest, smoothest, most haunting sound I could possibly imagine a bassoon putting out. Name begins with a W and LOOKS german, but can't read it well enough to tell what it says. (I only say it looks german because it starts with "Weim")
I play Alto Sax, Clarinet, and BASSOOOOOON.
And i'm with you 117, I have played woods for like 11 years and my whole family (except my mother, she plays flute) plays brass instruments, and they can pick up my bassoon and get notes out etc. I can't make a trumpet make noise except "PBTHTBTHTBTHTH"

I'm sure he does. He practices with the Neptunes and occasionally solves mysteries with Scooby Doo.
Richard plays a 1984 Gibson Les Paul... with PeeVee amp. (I swear he's a hairband rocker)
As for me? I haven't touched my fiddle in... uhh... three years? I really need to brush up.

Nov 15 2007, 03:09 PM
I haven't played in a few years, but I used to play woodwinds: Sax (Alto and Tenor), Flute, and Oboe. Haven't touched any since my freshman year in college about 4-5 years ago.
EDIT: its weird, I met this chick, and she's played in a few bands, she wants me to pick up the flute again (since I actually was a decent jazz flautist/flutist). Says that it'd add something cool to a bands she's trying to put together. I told her I haven't touched a flute in 5 years, yet she insists that I'll get better if I jam with her.

Around here, threads tend to die pretty quick if they stay on topic. We likes to wander.
In the interest of keeping on topic, seeing as you seemed a little intense about it, I suppose I have a hockey stick I could theoretically use to make music smashing it onto cars.
Theoretically.
NE_have_rabies

And, theoretically, you can also make music by smashing that same hockey stick into peoples faces n_n You can get some pretty interesting sounds to come out of the human instrument.

hey.. if stomp can make music with anything and everything... I imagine that a hockey stick counts... personally I'd never go see a group like that (not quite my thing), but it it works go for it. Besides, a post is still considered relevant as long as a part of it is tied to the thread.

I used to play the piano. I hated it. I also used to play the recorder, and the french horn. I should take up drums, I think I've got a good sense of rythmn. Good or not, I got rythmn in me and needs to get out.

1. Gibson Stratocaster (6 string guitar)
2. French horn (really no idea what brand though...might be king. I've had it a long time and I really never paid attention to what kind it was)(single horn)
3. and my own voice...it does make music ya know.

That's kind of funny...but music is something you'll always carry with you no matetr what you do in life. The only brass instrument I can't play is the trombone...people tell me it's easy, but the slide is what gets me. I'm used to things with keys and valves...I've been playing french horn for 12 years, and my borther taught me the trumpet. So why's you get a degree in nuclear engineering if you were originalyl going to be a music teacher?

That's amazing though...I don't know many fiddle players, but it looks pretty hard to me. I always thought that the violin sounded...well, not as appealing as some other instruments. But a good fiddle player is awesome!

I was First chair in my University band, and we got a new Brass instructor/band director. To make a long story short, personality clashes ended in me not going to class anymore. I then Joined the Navy and qualified as a Nuclear Machinist's Mate. That led me to getting my Nuclear Eng Degree.
