Holy crap, please tell me we will get the old Cale back sooner or later. I mean, realistically speaking, it is unlikely after he killed the kid, but I still liked the old Cale. At the very least I am hoping we can get a compromise between the old Cale and the new "As long as they can pay" Cale.

Anyway, aside from my dead topic...

I can't believe this. Ever since i've been reading the comic that first update Cale has been "the good guy". Something is going to happen, otherwise the balanced personalities of the group are going to fly out of control and it won't be interesting.

What Richard's doing is simple, so long as you've taken Pillaging 101: Start small and then work your way up. Richard intends to pillage every inch of the city that's worth something; he might even be able to sell the dirt as "genuine ancient magical city dirt".

Haha, Richard is Pillaging with his pillaging pail and shovel! Took me a bit to get that one.

I'm hoping Cale will eventually find out that the Archmage tricked him. Then, maybe he'll snap out of it.

Waaait a minute. If the group is back in the present, aren't they still in the middle of a desert? Then how is there suddenly a nearby village? I guess their little time-travel excursion did change of few things. =P

I doubt that'll ever happen for Cale. The only way for balance to happen in my opinion is if Richard actually starts compromising with his killing spree. Which, I think can happen starting with saving THIS group of villagers.

I don't think Cale is "not good" anymore. He's still good. A person's nature doesn't change that easily despite how he's been influenced and such. Like a girl who's trying to be a gallant prince, in the end, she's still a girl.

Using the horrible analogy above, in the end, Cale will still be the Cale we know.

In any case, you may also compare Cale to the story of the Tarot card, starting with the journey of The Fool. I think wiki has a little explanation of how you can look at it. The first three cards were kinda creepy as the order goes, "The Fool, The Magician, The High Priestess" The rest doesn't make so much sense anymore since we haven't seen any queen or empress in the story yet.

Let's see, he's met "The Emperor, The Hierophant, The Strength, The Chariot, The Hermit, The Hanged Man, and The Moon". Only another stack of cards away before reaching full enlightenment, our Cale. Yes, he is
