Should Pella, the dwarf, be part of the LFG party? If this is a repeat, I'm sure it will get locked. Perhaps by the time you see this poll it will be too late. I'll reserve my opinions for a bit later. I think I've hit most of the popular answers here.

Much as I love Tavor, I don't think he'd be a good replacement as a group member. He's sorta... angry at the moment. Definitely want to see him again though.
Pella is icky though. Really icky.

If she starts making some more comments and conversations in other than song form, she's welcome aboard.

If nothing else, I love what she keeps doing to Richard and how he reacts to it.

I'd say, Bugger Off Pella...
She can stay in this story-arc, but I think she doesn't deserve an active role in next arcs...

I'm not so sure we need another permanent party member. They've got a pretty diverse group going as it is, and a new permanent member would change the current dynamic. Maybe good, maybe not. As it is, it's fun to keep a changing of the guard, so to speak, so we don't get tired of anyone.
So I vote to keep her on for a while, but only as a secondary character. And welcome any future secondary characters -- Tavor, Captain Tah'vraay, Tim...etc....

I concur. It's pretty obvious (from the way SohLar like to do things) that once a character is introduced it's probably gonna pop up again (unless said character dies in a way that they don't want them coming back. I.e., anyone who dies that isn't Tavor. -.-) But I don't think she'll be part of the main group. Supporting cast would be the best place for her; we still get random songs and violence against Richard every now and then, but she's not cramping anyone's style. *coughrichardcough*

She'll do nicely for a bit of comic relief, but otherwise, she'll probably be a guest star, like real people in the muppets. Heh, off-topic i know, but the swedish chef rules

She's good support. No main attraction though. If Tim can't get in the group no one can.

I think this poll is rather in bad taste. Fact is, it's not up to you whether she stays or goes, and if it was, then the precedent would be set for the fans to decide what happens, and the comic and story would fall out of SohLar's much more experienced and skillful hands.
Leave it up to them. They know what they're doing a whole hell of a lot better than we do, I suspect.

The whole point of the forums is to give the fans an opportunity to express their opinions. What better way than a poll?

Here come the flames...

Nah, not really. I'm bad with fire damage.
Nah, it's not in bad taste. It's called
fan feedback. This is a way to sum up the numbers and find out how good/bad would this idea be embraced/reviled by the regular readers of the website. We, the fans do not decide. But we do have opinions, the authors are interested in listening - hence they gave us this forum right here. We don't have 'the right' to post anything. We have been given the privilege to do so because they want to know what we think. Also realize I have not voiced my opinion in the poll (yet!) to make it as objective as possible.
Question everything. Particularly if you have been given a platform to do so. That is its purpose.

What godot said.
Yes, this is only my personal opinion, since LFG isn't my webcomic. I won't stop reading it if Pella stays. But as I've mentioned before in greater detail in two other threads, Pella just rubs me the wrong way. I don't have a thing against dwarves. And I sure don't object to Pella because she's female, I have nothing against another female member in the group.
I simply think that the main group (Cale, Richard, Krunch and Benny) doesn't need yet another member; but if another person is added permanently, it should be someone with
some connection to one of the main characters or relevance to their respective quests. (Like Tavor, although he disqualified himself by becoming not exactly a villain but an antagonist.)
The problem about adding additional characters that have nothing at all to do with the rest of the group is that the story has been pretty much consolidated by now. We have two quests that are both connected: Krunch and Benny looking for the Sword of Truth was the first one, which intersected with Cale's oath to protect Benny and his destiny of restoring Gamlon. Both quests led them to Kethenecia, with Cale prophecied to become king of somewhere or other in the end. If a new additional character has nothing to do with any of this, he/she will just run along and be a fifth wheel; or if the new character has some quest or destiny of their own, it better be connected to the story so far
somehow, or we'll end up with two diverging storylines.
If Pella stays and becomes a main character, I hope she will have some relevance, some background story and personality and not just be "the smirking dwarf girl bard with two axes". If her role is solely to provide some comic violence against Richard, that will grow boring pretty fast. Right now I find her one-dimensional.

Actually, I seem to remember a prophesy or something about 6 go, but a different 6 come back.
(Mind you I did not go into the archives, so I leave research to whomever feels the desire.)
Cale, Richard, Benny, Krunch, Soomba, and Tavor departed. Take away now-antagonist Tavor and add vicious fighter/Richard's love (or admiration, or general like, whichever he is capable of) interest, and you arrive at the 6 who return.
Added after edit:

The Beholder says: "Six will enter, Six may return. Shall they be the same? Not as I see. And I see all."

I think she should stay for at least this arc. And then... whatever. Simply keep her until the business is done.
Grym
Oct 22 2007, 11:56 PM
However, it was speculated that the 6 return differently could be interepereted that the characters are different now. Cale has lost his innocence, he is changed. A different man elf, so to speak.
And then we can just have Pella go away. To live a new life in der futorz.
