FritzFricia
Since i'm new here in the forums and finally got out from under my rock, heres my intro!

Sign-on: FritzFricia (xbl and several other games)
I'm 23 and live in the winter wonderland that is Massachusetts
I'm a grunt mainly, doing things that most other people won't do, like work for an airline!
Never played WoW due to computer restraints, however i have played EQ for about 3 1/2 years, RF Online since Beta, EVE Online in beta and other online games that are far too numerous to mention (due to the idea that i can't remember them all)
I try to play as much as possible (currently on Tales of Pirates) and love to watch epic style movies as well as REALLY bad ones. (Such as Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter)
I currently volunteer for Anime Boston so if anyone has interest in it, just drop me a line and i can give you some information that otherwise might not be found.
I hope to have fun in the Sohmers Book Club and meeting all you people!

well that looks like it covers it all... lata!

Hello, Fritz. Welcome to the Forums! smile.gif
Wall of Text
Well, I'm Wall of Text. Seeing this post, you should be able to tell why I chose that particular username. I suppose I'll start with a few basics before I start going on and on about myself. My name is Jeffrey, I just turned seventeen, and I live in Palm Bay Florida. I find labels rather silly, but since most probably won't read my entire introduction, which is understandable, I'd probably say I'm a gamer, nerd, and freak. I'm rather proud of all those titles actually. That covers the basic, so you can stop reading now if you feel you don't have the time and/or will to read the rest. I'll just be talking about myself, my oppinions, and my arrogance anyway, and I'm not exactly the most exciting person.

Now, I think I'm going to expand on my name. I was named after my dad, something I don't care too much about. I'm not fond of people calling me anything but Jeffrey either. My dad goes by Jeff, so calling me that isn't likely to elicit a response. The last person to call me Jeffy got stabbed in the back with a pencil, so that's a no. Nicknames always seemed to me like they were just ways of making yourself sound cooler then you are, so I don't use those either. The exception is of course usernames I use.

Now, as I said, I'm seventeen. Unlike most kids my age, I'm not in school. I sort of dropped out. By "sort of" I mean I dropped out and then got my high school degree online. Florida seems to be one of the few states that allow that. Anyway, I dropped out because I had missed far more then the number of days I was supposed to. Now, as for why I missed so much school, there are a variety of reasons, but all of them basically boil down to not seeing the point of school. Well, the point of me being in school anyway.

Up until' High school, I had always been in the advanced classes. I scraped by with a D-. This isn't because I didn't know what was required of the classes, but more so a lack of interest in repeating the same thing for a week while going home to do it some more. Basically what I did in every class(aside from history) was pay attention to what the teacher says on monday, sleep in class the rest of the week, don't do any of the work, and ace every single test. Frankly, I didn't, and I still don't, see the point in required homework.

Now, I actually failed the eighth grade. Not due to grades, but because of absences.(Why sleep in class when you can sleep in bed?) Now, when I got to High school, they stuck me in normal classes due to my grades.(aside from Math) Can't say I blame them, but that didn't really help. Instead of paying attention for one day a week, I ended up paying attention for one day every two weeks. I started staying home more because of this. Most people who find school boring go for social reasons, but for me that really wasn't worth it. (I'll probably rant about that farther down.) So they finally said, and this is a direct quote from the Dean, "Either you drop out or we're taking you to court."

Now that I've basically told you about what happened with High school, let me tell you about the online classes. They sucked. I was hopeful and expected classes that would allow me to work at my own pace. I got that. The problem being these were the basic minimum for qualifying for a diploma. They sent me a placement exam, I took it, they told me I knew everything from all the classes, and then they sent me my diploma. This was sometime last year, I think. My concept of time isn't very good.

So now I'm supposed to be studying for all the things I didn't end up learning. I say supposed because I'm not doing it. I'm putting it off. I can lie to myself all I want and say it's because, if high school is any indication, it shouldn't take much time at all and I want to take the SATs and go to college at the same time as other people my age are. That isn't true though. I'm just being lazy.

Now, Florida is... Well, I don't like it here. I hate the heat and love the cold. If you don't like the beach, there isn't really much to do either.(For someone under twenty-one anyway) Unless of course you want to go to one of our horrible theme parks(There's a reason we need so many) which, considering the price, isn't something you would want to do every day. I haven't really been anywhere else, but I'd like to think that, for me at least, there are better places to live.

Now, my social life is... Well... It doesn't exist. I'm rather fond of the quote "The only people with drama in their lives are people who create it and people who suffer from those who do"(I have no idea who said that) and I despise drama. I used to try and ease into having a social life, but every now and then something would happen that made me regret it. Nothing involving me really, but things that simply made me question why I would want to deal with these people on a regular basis. (These people being people who create needless drama, aka almost everyone)

I've been social life free for about two years. The last incident that made me regret having any sort of social life was probably the best example of why I don't want one. A girl who had decided she was my best friend came crying to me because her boyfriend broke up with her. Seems like an understandable thing to be upset about, right? Well, she was cheating on him, with three guys, at the same time. Sounds pretty bad, but it's worse then that. He was willingly to forgive her, continue the relationship and all that, but she refused to stop sleeping with the other three guys, and that would be why he broke up with her.

So, with no social life and not studying like I'm supposed to, what do I do with my time? Very little. My life is rather dull, and ultimately, unsatisfying. I sleep far more then I should. On average I probably sleep around thirteen or fourteen hours a day. Aside from that, all I really do is read(Novels/Web comics/News Articles/Bleh), play games, listen to music, thinking and daydreaming. Spent two months trying to get a job last year, but no one in the area is willing to hire a minor with no work experience.

The only thing that I think is good about having so much free time is that I've thought through most of my beliefs. The amount of time I actually spend thinking about why I believe what I do has given me quite a strong sense of conviction, which is ironic since I'm agnostic. I'd probably rant on and on about why, but every time I do, I sound like I'm trying to be very deep and failing horribly at it. I really need to work on my explanation skills.

Now, I'm pretty much done with my introduction. I'm going to add a few more tidbits that I couldn't seem to weave into what I did say though. Despite having no social life, I've always been good at public speaking. I mainly listen to Power Metal, but I also like comedic music, like any song by Stephen Lynch. I decided not to rant on and on about what I think is wrong with the school system, for now at least. And that's it. If you read everything, congrats, your life is probably just as boring as mine.

The name you have chosen is highly apt Wall wink.gif

I suggest you talk to verbose, he's our resident ...... you'll figure it out, I'm sure you guys have a bit in common smile.gif

Greetings, Wall and Fritz. Just so you're made aware: those names won't stay long. I have a knack for giving out nicknames and the more I get to know you-- the weirder they will become. We're basically a friendly bunch, except for Verby-kins. He's nice, but only on specific levels. As for me? ...They haven't discovered where I fit into the mold yet.
Wall of Text
Thanks for the welcome everyone(or rather, you three).

And I believe I spot a Coulton quote.
Josef bugman
Oh hell yeah biggrin.gif favorite is a toss up between the "creepy doll" and "Someone is crazy and its you" songs biggrin.gif
Wall of Text
Both great songs, but personally, I prefer "Better" and "A Laptop Like You".

Pfft. There goes any intention of reading that intro.

If he's like me, I already know all about me. No interest to be found.
Sayuri Kajira
The point of meeting someone is that you have absoultely no common interests.
Verbose
Or at the very least, they're different enough that it's not painfully clear that they're an inferior model. In the real world, I like to discourage people introducing me to people who are "just like" me by being so casually dismissive and condescending that it reflects badly on them.

Here, I'll just say, hello new people. I'll see you around if you stick around.
Sayuri Kajira
laugh.gif I have to say, Verby-kins, that's the nicest thing you've ever said. I should mark it on the calendar right next to the Apocalypse.
Verbose
Would it reassure you to know it was an ironic comment, knowing that the majority of people who post here have fewer than twenty posts before they ghost off?
Sayuri Kajira
Reassured.

I don't get it. sad.gif

Yuppers! Welcome! ...I wish I had brought the wagon with me, but currently my oxen are dying off... at least... that's what Oregon Trail is telling me. Why am I always given dysentery when I play this game? Sheesh. Better luck to you, Skylark.

Oh there we go, I didnt see this thingy.
I got pwnd other there.. hehe my bad ( like her already ;p )

So yea.. Ahem.. let me start over..

Hi tongue.gif
Name is Ace, I'v been here before, just never really hard the time to look around or read much.. a couple of days ago I got hooked on LFG.. and there I am writing in it's forums when there was no more pages to read ( thats sucked so bad, you should have seen me clicking like mad to get to the non-existent page )

Howdy people!
MrEasterband
Hmm... Found this just now... Any who.
Hello everyone. Great being here.
A little about myself:
I'm 20 years old (Born 1987)
I live in Sweden, in a city called Kalmar.
Here I study to become a Sea-engineer.

If you wonder anything else (Why would you?), you can find me on my page.
Sayuri Kajira
laugh.gif Hello all you new people. Hope you enjoy deflowering... because that's exactly what you've set yourself up for.
Murk42
Wrex, you should be happy you ain't de only one to keep clicking for a nonexistent page.
and hello Mr Easterband.

Have you ever seen the musical Grease?

HA. Nothing? Really?

Hello, Agriogata. Welcome to the forums! smile.gif

A question? Hmmm... let's see.

How about this; how much weight can an eggshell support without breaking?

Wrex, you should be happy you ain't de only one to keep clicking for a nonexistent page.

Im glad that wasnt just me... i totally panicked dude...
Oh And hey everyone biggrin.gif

Agriogata
nothingbroken, you'd better ask someone who's an expert in these... how about a hen? ^^
Verbose
I don't see what makes a hen qualified to comment on the load-bearing aspects of eggs. I manage to drive a car without smashing it through a living room but I don't know how much force is required to put a car onto your couch. Why should the hen?
Sayuri Kajira
mellow.gif Expertise is simply an arrogant way for someone to claim superiority. In reality, since Man is constantly learning and things are constantly moving and changing, there is no such thing as an 'expert.' That is, unless you just rock hardcore at GH. Then yes, you are an expert.

happy.gif Just had to put it my two thoughts that aren't worth a cent. And welcome! *group hug*
saltnester
Expertise lasts until the next discovery; this is why historians should be hunted with longbows, at least until the discovery of an extant law forbidding such.

So...I suppose I'm re-new here, and a wanderer at any rate: judging by the stuff that's changed here and the amount of comic I just caught up on I've been away from t'internet rather longer than I thought. O_o

I am...hmm, never an officer, occasionally mistaken for a gentleman, possibly an eighteenth-century fop and definitely not English. [bows]
Sayuri Kajira
blink.gif So, would that make you a historical mistake? Don't worry, most of us here are historically incorrect. I'm pretty sure Grym and Josef belong in 14th century Romania. ...Mostly because watching them run away from a bloodthirsty horde of angry and starving villagers would be amusing for me.
saltnester
[smiles] I do hope so. Or an historical figure, but I'll have to set fire to something really big for that.
(to explain the historian reference, I'm an archaeologist, we deal with the stuff that's actually there rather than written by the victors, so to speak, it's something of an ongoing behind-the-scenes battle. [cue images of fat, dusty professors hitting each other with tomes])

Why them in particular? Particularly pale fellows and/or admirers of underwired nightdresses?
