Exactly like the topic said, I think it'll be interesting for us to talk about the things we've dreamed about when we're snoozing. Maybe you dreamed about growing 100 ft tall fighting against Godzilla. Maybe you dreamed about a completely surreal universe. Maybe you actually have that cliche dream where you find yourself naked in public.

Just last night, I had this dream about this homework that I supposedly finished. Then this girl asked me if she can compare her answers to mine, and I said yes. Freaky thing is, I can't find my worksheet anywhere! I felt it took HOURS to try to find where I left it. How did I wake up? When I asked myself, "Wait, do I even HAVE this class?" tongue.gif

the dream: i was walking down the street. then i entered a shop. there i started reading different magazines and checking out the energy drinks(they are a part of my life even in my dreams). then i turned around and discovered that i was in a basement. there was a closet and i opened a drawer. in there was a fountain, and i mean a huge, fountain. and then i heard someone say behind my back that it was all John Deacon's fault

I don't dream. I have random acts of deja vu. I mean, its so creepy how often I dream of something that occurs the next day. Anywho, I've had a few oddball dreams. I had this doozie where I was riding a tricycle through a haunted house. These monkeys, throwing plates, were chasing me around. I escaped them by clinging on to a bungee cord of a man in a giant balloon. Of course he was nude and shouting something about pancakes. Needless to say I let go and found myself running away from a bunch of really poorly drawn cartoons.

After that, I refrained from eating burritos after nine PM.
Lapislazuli
Being chased... by 2D characters. According to Flatland/Sphereland, they have sharp edges and can be deadly.

At least you get to run. I remember a time when I found myself trapped in a cab, and the cab driver is actually some random guy who carjacked the cab, and he shot me. Amazingly, I lived long enough to run to the nearest department store to make a call to the police. Then the waking moment happened.
Didn't feel a thing when I was shot. So, why was it so believable?
TE_evilweasel
i can get these really confusing dreams and i know that im dreaming yet cant wake up and it pisses me off because
its such a pain in the ass to watch the dream and then bam im awake and its like jeez that was a pos dream if i ever saw one... usualy my dreams follow a time line as in they have a well usualy a middle and an end but these dreams are just mish mashs of dream
TheGrubz
I think it's kinda odd how people don't think about dreams that much in everyday life. I mean come on, we're hallucinating while asleep and then forgetting the whole thing! That ain't normal I tell you what.
Grym
I hallucinate while I'm awake sometimes!

My weirdest dream... It was the day right after school had gotten out, and I was walking to school. Then I realized 'Hey— Schools out!' There was a bit more weird stuff involving folding chairs, but I don't remember that so much
Artemicon
Hmm, i read something on Wikipedia about "dream recall" and "lucid dreaming" Theyre techniques by which one can remember dreams more clearly and more often (it is thought people always dream, every night, they just dont remember) and lucid dreaming allows a person to become concious in his own dream.

How awesome would that be? Whith a little practice you could, to some extent, controll them.

I dont dream much, or better said i dont remember much dreams, though when i do theyre usually variations of several recurring dreams i've had through my life.
The Fork of Truth
I can never remember my dreams, which is a shame, cause they must be awsome(/maddening). Ever dream you fall over, then it feels like you've fallen over in real life? Weird. wacko.gif
Jabba
biggrin.gif i already started this thread aaaages ago, but it died sad.gif

i dream everytime i sleep now. and thankfully i have a lot less nightmares. i dont always remember my dreams but last night was a nice one about... erm... (*censored*)

Grym
Aw, Lucky jabba remembers all his dreams... I remember like once every 2 months-ish

Sort of... except... different.

I had a dream in an afternoon nap today. And, I remembered finding myself stuck on an elevator where the door just opens up when it's only half-way at the floor. I have to crawl my way out. And, it's so hard to crawl through because I feel so heavy (Must be because I am actually still sleeping or something)

Also had the classic finding myself naked in public dream dry.gif Why does that happen?!
Grym
I have never had a classic dream....
TE_evilweasel
Oh now i remember a dream i had a while back.. im like on an urban roof top with my bro and we go into like this haunted house but we go through like a hole in the building from the wall ( its one of those weird way to real looking dreams) and its like the 2nd story of a farm but its filled with haunted house crap and were checking out the old masks and spiders and stuff then like were about too leave but then like what we thought were hay stacks start moving and it turns out there all like shaggy bears... anyway we run into a bear and it like is about to swipe us but then the floor boards break (these are like beams spread 1-2ft apart) and it goes through the ceiling and into what i think was farm equipment

well we get near the entrance through the wall we came through but then my bro is swiped by a bear right near the entrance and he and the bear like fell into the farm equipment. and thats the last of the dream

it started out an ok dream then turned nightmare near the end ... the next night i tryed to continue the dream (sometimes i can do that with dreams) but i didnt get anywhere and ended up not dreaming

if you read the wall of text it really turns out to be a cool dream in a way

also if i dream i always remember the dream... mostly sometimes i get a pathetic dream that's too weak to be remembered
Lapislazuli
What happened to your brother sounds kinda like Gandalf from LOTR where he fell into a giant chasm with the Balrog tongue.gif

YOU. SHALL. NOT. PASS!
TE_evilweasel
na it was more like

/swipe
and then the bear like triped and took my bro with him down into the farm equipment below

still it was a badass dream to have i mean the only real scray thing in it was like the bears and the fact that we were like climbing on them a moment earlier with out a care in the world

then it was just like "lets get the hell out of here befor the bears tear the shit out of us"
pentheraphobia
i dreamed that i was dreaming, and in this state i could do whatever i wanted as long as i didn't wake up
after 5 minutes it was too tempting to ruin my dream and wake up, but those 5 minutes were AWESOME!
TE_evilweasel
ever get those like KICKASS dreams but then you notice your dreaming and its like s*** now im going to wake up soon

also seeing as i dont want to make another post ill just add an edit-

i remember a faded journey dream where i met a lot of cool people (and some people who werent human) but its faded
so it really didnt have the power to stay...every time i try to remember it this faded gray face pops up - i know it was a kick ass dream but im disappointed due to the fact that i cant remember much about it

so another question to add to this is have you ever had a dream you know was awsome but couldnt recall enough about it later?
MantaLord
Aaaah... I know that. You see, I die in almost everyone of my dreams. Fortunately, recently, people I know have been dying in my dreams for me. HAHAHAHAHA THEY PHAIL!
TE_evilweasel
now that you mention it ... i dont think ive ever seen anyone die in my dreams.. not a one

although you seeing yourself die over and over again must not be to fun either

when my bro fell of it didnt really seem like he died just got really beaten up but ... i guess i could assume his *** is toast

It happens because of the way you are when you're awake. I'm going to attribute the cause to the fear of being yourself all the time in public (like the little voices that say, punch that guy that just flipped you the bird) and/or because you are subconsciously unhappy with your physical appearance.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
that's what my shrink told me.

I've had the same dream since ninth grade chemistry about this girl I sat next to all year and I really, in my dream she's actually my girlfriend (that's how I know its a dream lol) so anyway and we're out driving somewhere in my dream car, a '69 red and black chevelle with a 426 and 24 psi centriv supercharger. We just appear inside someplace it looks like a mob restaurant or something its really dark inside and hazy from smoke, and this guy comes up and starts hitting on her and I'm not having any of that so I get up and deck the guy. Well then everybody in the place is looking at me and the all pull out there guns, yes the granny that owns the place does have an M60. So now I'm staring down an armada of pissed off people with huge guns all pointed at me and the guy I decked gets up and screams at me "you think you can come into our place where we make the rules and just break them!?".
Needless to say he does the usual ruff up the guy routine where 4 of his buddies take turns holding me and wailing on me with brass knuckles. After I'm a bloody half dead pulp they bring her out back and they all talk dirty while I'm stuck on the ground only able to watch and I start to black out... upon doing so I hear her scream and a voice say "not yet" (sounds like morgan freeman). What happens next is fit for an action movie I get up and one of the guys comes over to me and I sidestep his punch break his arm take his knuckles and get my payback. So now they know I'm not knocked out and they all come at me one guy takes a hook to the temple and goes down hard, the next gets a kidney shot so massive he needs a transplant and the last guy gets me on top of him beating his face in (think 300 kid fight). Next thing that happens is she comes over to me as I collapse and I start singing "a tout le monde"...

I don't know how much of this could be based on events in my real life but it makes for an interesting dream but honestly I've had it for almost five years now and my shrink told me some crap about it being my violent movie and video game habits have corrupted my physche but like I said that's crap.

Lucky you. I can't remember my dreams.

The best dream I ever had involved me being the saint of killers. I was in the middle east and killing basically everything that moved, and just continued on till the desert was barren of human life. I also remember attacking Jeruselam and taking on a bunch of tanks. I actually woke up expecting the world to be a better place... and alas, it wasn't. But being the saint of killers in my dreams was pretty friggin sweet.

Neither do I. But every time i get up, I have the feeling that I missed something.
Duh, I'm probably needing more sleep.
Bloodseed
Well, at least all of you guys (save for one) aren't mercilessly killed in your dreams night after night.

I have a whole slew of dreams, and whether it's facing down this HUGE guy in black armour and getting cut to ribbons (And yes, I do feel it) or running from a steamroller (fuck does that one HURT), I'm the one that always ends up dead.

There have been other dreams, like getting into a massive pile up on the highway and being tied to a post and shot to death, but every night, without fail, I get treated to many different ways of excruciating death.

This reminds me of Kenny.
Ok, try to gain control over your dreams. Imagine that, while running away from the steamroller, that Dr. McNinja comes an stops it, or something. Or wake up BEFORE you get killed. Or ... well, at least try

Thats probably why I don't have them. With my close friends, I am always myself.
TE_evilweasel
i never had the ability to just wake up when i feel like it when im dreaming ...unless im about to wake up then its a matter of if i actualy want to get up or not... that and im not able to change anything that happens in my dreams...i can try influencing what i dream up but not change anything while dreaming it : /
Grym
I never know when I'm sleeping. I don't see something normally out of place and think 'Thats not normal. I must be dreaming.' I see it, and think its normal. Only one time have I ever realized i was dreaming, and that was the day after school got out I dreamt I was walking to school
TE_evilweasel
same thing sorta happens to me except i dont really realize anything like that... because im not thinking "is this a dream" or "is this real" those thoughts just never occur when im dreaming the only reason i know when im dreaming at all is because i can start hearing sounds from outside the dream and thats how i know its a dream
Grym
Once I was dreaming, and I dreamt someone was calling my name and I woke up and it was my dad trying to wake me up
Artemicon
Have you ever been awake, got somewhat distracted, and then for some reason make a quick movement as if you were about to fall and stopped yourself?

Happen to me all the time, in the street, but also in my bed...im like very concious, then blank out for just a second, then i feel as i had been ohvering over my bed, and have just fallen on it. It weird since i dont know how i cant get that much bounce by merely flexing my body or jumping....unless i really WAS hovering ohmy.gif
Grym
I get that sometimes.... Minus the hovering bit. I hallucinate when woken up at the wee hours. Once one of my friends woke me up at 3 am in the morning, I thought he was a different friend, and then I lost consciousness. Then my friend woke me up again
MantaLord
I have creepy dreams where I experience an entire day, I go to bed and then I wake up in real life. It really disorients me... I don't know what's real or not...
Lapislazuli
At least 3 days passed by in my dream once...
It was frightening, not to mention kinda disappointing... It was actually an afternoon nap, and I dreamed that I got done with my finals. And I was having the time of my life as my summer vacation begins. And, then I woke up, and I realized that I still have one more exam to prepare for dry.gif
MantaLord
Ouch...

Yeah, that's a crazy feeling. It's apparently some sort of defense mechanism.. I'm just now sure wtf it is for.
MantaLord
I have body spasms while I'm trying to fall asleep sometimes... Well, that's not the correct term. Pretend I was thinking of the day, and I saw someone get punched on TV. I uncontrollably flinch back extremely fast, as if I was being punched right then. I have a lot of bruises.
Habukberht
I have a friend, Uuillhelm, who will actually kick the shit out of people in his sleep. When I lived with him, to wake him up I had to get a broom and poke him. He would launch himself to his feet and start swinging otherwise. He actually had a dream one time that he was in a fight with his (then) girlfriend... and she was being mouthy and annoying so he punched her. He woke up in the morning to his girlfriend asking him why he had hit her the night before. It was just too funny.
