I thought Allstar was baseball but i'm not that much of a sports guy.
The Lone David
Jul 11 2007, 05:17 PM
Blue's right, it's the game between the American League and the National League in Major League Baseball.
Hunter
Jul 11 2007, 06:16 PM
Might I ask why there is this division in the sport?
The Lone David
Jul 11 2007, 06:35 PM
the World Series is played by the best team in each league.
Hunter
Jul 11 2007, 07:20 PM
I get that bit but why are there different leagues for one sport in the same country?
The Lone David
Jul 11 2007, 07:23 PM
Theyre's two different ways to play the game, one with a designated hitter, and one where your pitcher has to bat.
Hunter
Jul 11 2007, 07:24 PM
okay
The Lone David
Jul 11 2007, 07:26 PM
Its a problem for the American League to play in a National League ballpark, cuz they're used to haveing a DH and their pitchers don't really know how to hit.
Hunter
Jul 11 2007, 07:27 PM
so they should practice it, and hope they don't get hit in their throwing arm.
The Lone David
Jul 11 2007, 07:28 PM
Well they do before an interleague game, but it can wreck a really good pitcher.
Hunter
Jul 11 2007, 07:29 PM
hmm how so?
The Lone David
Jul 11 2007, 07:30 PM
It screws with their windup.
Hunter
Jul 11 2007, 07:32 PM
... I guess it works other muscles that would screw them up. Makes sense.
The Lone David
Jul 11 2007, 07:33 PM
Yep, although some pitchers thrive there, like Peavy and Penny.

Playing the finals for any sport, you have 2 divisions. At the end of the regular season, you pick out your 8 best teams on both sides and arange matches between teams in a same divisions as follows : 1st place team vs 8th place team, 2nd vs 7th, 3rd vs 6th and 4th vs 5th. out of those 4 sets of matches, 4 teams will come out on top and 2 matches will result. and te winners of those matches will confront in the division finals. Whichever team comes out in the lead will fae off the other division's best team.
That's the reason of the 2 division. It ensures that only the 2 best teams face off. Also creates a lot more competitions.
That and the American league use explosives in their balls.... Weirdoes

You were wrong abut the Baseball one, there's two leagues seperated into three divisions, they take the best team from each division plus the Wild Card team, Then the team with the best record plays the Wild Card team while the other two teams face off, then the two winners play for their Leage champion, finally the two league champs face off for the MLB champion.

Okay, David has had his big number 1 medal, the months he had go to it have mostly been posts that have added to the forum not just random flailing of fingers to his keyboard then hitting enter. As Khay has said that the biggest problem is stupid people making useless posts. I know I have done my share of stupidity so lets smarten up. I haven't cared about my post count since I hit 300 because of the movie. So I suggest we make August 1 the official LFG Forum Mod day, send the mods your thanks and actually not make asses of our selves.
The Lone David

Fun! And the August 2 is my birthday!
Bob Vader
Jul 13 2007, 02:52 AM
Question. Why should we be giving our thanks to the mods? All they've ever done is threaten and punish us when we do something wrong. Never any nice PMs for no reason in particular. I know it's their job, doesn't mean you have to like them. Just how I hate teachers, dentists, doctors, orthodontists, lawyers and politicians. They're all evil people just for accepting the jobs that they have.
