what do you mean! my vocabulary is fine (better than most of the people I know). Verbiage is just a little bit too deep for me.
I would probably even be able to say that I still got the gist of what he said if I could remember what it was
Jabba
Jul 6 2007, 06:33 PM
verbiage means verbal garbage it also can be mispronouced and misspelled deliberatly as verbage, but both are words.
i love being an english student ^^

Jul 6 2007, 06:39 PM
I guess you wouldnt pick up on that sort of vocabulary in any sci-fi fantasy books.
Jabba
Jul 6 2007, 07:05 PM
yeah you would, its in V for Vendetta, though only the film, the graphic novel doesnt have V's speech in so thus it doesnt occur, and yeah i know its not sci-fi but its something a lot of geeks/nerds/computer people have read/watched
Grym
Jul 6 2007, 07:10 PM
not me. what I read is almost purely scifi with some occasional fantasy mixed in.
Jabba
Jul 6 2007, 07:18 PM
you should read it its really good and i think you would enjoy it, though its up to you. reading to your tastes is good, but always be open to reading other genres, because like i found out, fantasy is awsome!
Grym
Jul 6 2007, 07:24 PM
If you like scifi or fantasy, you should definitely read Wyrm
or "anyone who's interested in artificial intelligence, the internet, computer viruses, RPGs, mythology, lewis carrol, or monty python. anyone not in this group has my sympathies" as I misquote from charles sheffield
Jabba
Jul 6 2007, 07:28 PM
i will look into it as i am into all of the above, also side note, lewis carrol was a philosopher who was all for reform. He wrote a paper on it while writting the narnia books
now i HOPE TO GOD that i got the names and people right there, otherwise it will seem very much like im an idiot, but i cant check my bag is waaaaay over there and i cant be asked to get to it
Grym
Jul 6 2007, 07:31 PM
I'll assume your talking about the book, but just look up wyrm by mark fabi
Jabba
Jul 6 2007, 07:33 PM
i shall do, can you give me a short describtion of what its about?
Grym
Jul 6 2007, 07:38 PM
basically as an extremely short summary: A giant sentient virus creates a game. The virus is going to launch nukes on january first, 2000. the protagonist must descend into the game to destroy the worm.
youll probably find a better review than that on amazon or something. I could have just copied off the summarry on the back, but that one didnt describe it very well.
Jabba
Jul 6 2007, 07:41 PM
could that possibly be the one that ends with a game of naughts and crosses (possibly tic tack toe)?
because if it is i have read it
Grym
Jul 6 2007, 07:42 PM
nope. i mean a game as in a giant uber realistic MMORPG.
Jabba
Jul 6 2007, 07:46 PM
ooooooh no i havent read it yayh, sounds awsome, how much did it cost to buy?
Grym
Jul 6 2007, 07:48 PM
I got mine used at used book sale in the adirondacks. I am currently working on my fifth reading of it. I have had it less than a year
Jabba
Jul 6 2007, 07:51 PM

Grym
Jul 6 2007, 07:57 PM

Jabba
Jul 6 2007, 07:58 PM

Jabba
Jul 8 2007, 05:57 PM
ahh okay, i live rping its fun, though my characters are always crazy/insane/necros, i dont know why it just seems to be what happens. also i started playing fable today, that game is cool, old, but cool.
Shooting random villagers in the head with a crossbow FTW!!
The Lone David
Jul 8 2007, 05:59 PM
Who uses rangedd weapons, obsidian Greatsword FTW!
Seriously, Silver, Lightning, and Flame augments make it look really cool.
Jabba
Jul 8 2007, 06:01 PM
i love ranged weapons, they are so funny in this game, not for using of distance though, GOD no, i shoot them in the leg real soft, then pull back and wait....
....when they get so close they can hit me i blast off their heads. So funny, so immensly funny. And i thought it was such a nice game till i shot of someones head with a bow and arrow.
The Lone David
Jul 8 2007, 06:03 PM
The only game I use a bow regularly in is Oblivion, and that's cause my guy is the Mega-Assassin.
Also, it makes getting Varla stones easier.
Jabba
Jul 8 2007, 06:15 PM
i just love being sneaky shooting someone from a distance, then moving a little, waiting for the horde of people to get where i was before, shotting one of them then repeating until i can walk in a STABBITY! the 2 left.
fun, sooo much fun. Also i love morrowind but i have never played oblivion, is it good? the reviews i read said it was.
The Lone David
Jul 8 2007, 06:17 PM
Its a lot better than Morrowtind, the best improvement in my opinion is your fatigue doesn't go down when you run.
Jabba
Jul 8 2007, 06:29 PM
yeah morrowind used to piss me off with the whole "your getting beaten up so gues what... you now cant attack" stupid fatigue bar, thats the ONLY reason why i died in that game, the ONLY reason.
The Lone David
Jul 8 2007, 10:36 PM
Well also the whole "Oh you attacked, but you missed even though your crosshair was right there." Oblivion fixed that, and your spells won't randomly fail, you can customize your charaacters face, and it generally looks nicer.
BloodyPiper
Jul 8 2007, 11:46 PM
It is in all a lot smoother game. Much nicer to play and still good fun.
Heaps to do aswell which is always a plus in a game
The Lone David
Jul 8 2007, 11:55 PM
Also the marker is a nice touch, wandering aimlessly is less fun than one might think.

It'll take a lot more than that to make you look in the least way distinguished.
Maybe a lobotomy.

Jabba

thankyou for stating the obvious

how come quoting 8bit got me such a vicious response? would it be better if i quoted pvp? or starslipcrisis?

Now would be a good moment to beat a swift retreat in order to salvage pride. I propose we change the subject; all in favor, say aye.
