So who else is absolutely writhing in anticipation??? I know I am.

You lucky folks on the East Coast already got to watch it, I assume? So, here's where to set your cup to catch all that fanboy/girl drool leaking out.
NE_have_rabies
Tonight's episode was pretty good, the only thing I ask for is that this season's finale isn't as much of a let down >.< I mean, it was.... anti-climatic? o_O;;
robonips
Pretty sure WTB next week... sooooooooooooo good.
RabidRabbit
I think the best way to watch Heroes is to record a bunch of episodes then watch them all at once. Otherwise it's too confusing and frustrating.
Mixairian
I came. smile.gif

I have Chuck and Reaper saved. Does anyone know if those shows were worth checking out?

I'm not, but this writhing intrigues me.

It was awesome, my roommate asking what was going on during the plot points on the other hand made me stop talking to him.
Rae-Rae =^.^=
Ugh, my brother did the same thing, since he never watched the first season.

Rabies, did the Season 1 ending really let you down? I thought the climax was when "the bomb" (Peter) went off. Did you notice when Nathan was looking in the mirror in the bar, and for a moment he saw himself with a horribly disfigured face? (Kharma, since he was kinda a d-bag in the first season.) If anything, the bloody manhole was a frustrating cliffhanger.

I'm more interested about the Honduran siblings, Alejandro and Maya. From what it looks like, Maya can unleash AN EFFIN' PLAGUE (!!!!!!!!!) when she gets stressed, but I wonder if Alejandro has anything special. Maybe it's a Claire/Lyle thing, and one of them is adopted.

Speaking of Lyle, one of my favorite parts of Season One:
"I'm gonna post this on YouTube and make a million dollars!"
"You idiot... YouTube's free, now give back the tape!"

The Wonder Twins are conjoined power wise. I'm not quite sure what her power is but his presence is to counteract her ability from what I read/saw last night. If she does unleash a plague, his body may be producing the airborne antibodies to counter the effect.

As for Nathan's guilt. smile.gif I felt that was bloody awesome.

Who else loved the gaijin comment from Hiro?

Oh he is awesome.
Grym
Would it be worth buying season one if I haven't seen it before?
TheGrubz
If you can't get it on youtube, I'd buy it. Quite good.
Rae-Rae =^.^=
I saw Season one for about $50 at Target, but on iTunes, I think it's about $43, and you download each episode individually. But if you're really not sure, you could probably find it all over Youtube.

The gaijin comment made me laugh so hard. I wonder why, if everyone from the village saw his face, that Kensei was portrayed as a foreigner.

My big question is what is this organization started by the previous generation; Linderman, Kaito Nakamura, and Mr. and Mrs. Petrelli, among whoever else was part of it. Simone's dad was part of it too, so maybe she had a power, or will be reappearing?

Alejandro releasing anitibodies the same way Maya releases teh plaguez sounds too coincedental for me, although it would be interesting. Maybe his powers are like Linderman's, where he can heal things.
TE_evilweasel
cant to wait to see where they go with season 2 looks pretty good but im just wondering how they're
going to make it as good as 1, sort of felt like that was gonna be the end of things sort of

As I said, in the article it was mentioned that their powers compliment one another. I don't find the plague concept convincing though. It was just a toss out.

As for a gaijin becoming Japanese in history books. Time makes fools of us all.

As for buying Heroes. When it was first released Best Buy sold it for 36$. You can probably get it for around 45$-50$ now.
Gossamerblade
Re: Maya's power. I don't think it's a plague; it looked more like she exploded hearts or boiled blood or something because they were all bleeding from the eyes. As far as Alejandro's influence, it could just be emotional. She lets loose when she's upset and he can keep her calm.

Love that Kensei was a gaijin! If, historically, he did gain the love of the swordsmith's daughter, then he would've become more accepted in that society and historians would omit the fact of his foreign birth.

I'm just wondering who's targeting the remaining members of the old "Linderman" group. Were they there all along? Or did they discover the group after (or during) the events of last season?
Rae-Rae =^.^=
That's an interesting explanation Goss...

This previous group is what I'm hoping will get revealed this season, too. I know there was that reference, where's Simone's father is revealed to be a member too. I'd like to see what powers they have.

One thing just slipped in my head: If Simone's father was dying, couldn't Linderman have healed him? We saw that he could bring a flower back from withering, why not a person? Unless all of this is his doing.

A grudge, falling out could be responsible for the lack of healing. Also, who says Simone's father wanted to be healed. He may have known something that required his death.

I have a theory that the Plot of Lost will eventually smply convert to that of Simon Golding's The Lord of the Flies. Think about it.
Hunter
Or we can not talk about Lost and instead talk about a good show like Heroes, or a good book like The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.
Rae-Rae =^.^=
Bad Manta Lord *attacks with a broom until the Zelda junkie is swept out* No irrelevant posts. It'd be nice if this thread could last for the season, or at least through next week's episode.

Mixi, now that you've said that, wasn't there something in the flashback where Peter was watching one of the last encounters where Angela Petrelli and Simone's dad were talking about his needed, inevitable death?

You're going to force me to bust out last season and start watching all the episodes again, arn't you? :-p I do recall something along those lines.
Rae-Rae =^.^=
I won't force you, but I'll encourage you... threatening to be violent if you do otherwise.

"Stop eating and watch more Heroes!... Damnit, take the toilet with you, stop pausing the DVD!"

Sadly, I think I'm going to force my boyfriend to watch XD

I wonder if Peter, given that he doesn't remember anything and apparently has a new power, will become evil. He is in the company of thugs, and who knows? Peter is the most powerful of them so far, since anyone who comes up and looks stronger than him, Peter can just mimic his power and become the strongest again. There's a lot of potential in Peter, and maybe that's why the company got to him and erased his mind (maybe, he is wearing the Haitian necklace or an equal one)

And I really really want to know who the new villain is, who according to Molly is more powerful than Sylar
Habukberht
Yeah, I had that butterflies feeling the entire time leading up to the show the other day. I'm curious as to why Nathan is whole instead of all effed up... and now i'll NEVER know what Mr Nakamura's powers were... NOO! I'd love to see less of Nikki tho... that would make the show much better.

Anyone else think that Hiro is gonna take the armor and the sword away from that gaijin jerk and do the hero thing in his place?

And my bride and I both thought the kensai was very reminiscent of Geoffrey Chaucer in A Knight's Tale (but without the forced nudity).

Sylar's coming back, and I for one can't wait...
Habukberht
That is my theory for Hiro, I think he will take up the armor and become kensai himself.
Hunter
I agree, since at the beginning of the first episode it showed Hiro with a suit of armour on for a half a second.

Hiro being the "real" Kensei would be a bit cliched. I think Hiro is probably gonna either guilt the real Kensei into becoming a good guy or at least force him into situations where it looks like he was a Hero but really did nothing.

Personally, I can't wait to see Kensei's power.

Maybe Peter becomes the villain? A little cliched, but I could still see it happening. Maybe the memory loss drives him mad with confusion, but I think it has to do with his proximity to Sylar. As it was said before, Peter has the potential to become the most powerful, because as soon as he gets close to someone, he gets their power and becomes the strongest again. Remember when he was saving Claire and both he and Sylar fell off that platform (or whatever it was) at her school? At that time, Peter could've unknowingly absorbed everything he had so far, which would only omit the super hearing, if I remember correctly.

Hiro taking the armor, I agree, seems a bit too predictable. I'd like to see Kensei's power, and maybe he can rewrite history correctly, as Hiro knows it. Hell, if he could just meander into Japan during it's period of isolation, he can't be too boring to just discard him and give the role to Hiro. Perhaps his traits have been diluted by Japanese traits over the year, but if Kensei has a power, maybe he could be Hiro's ancestor, and maybe that's why all of his stories were passed down through the family, unknowingly more than a bedtime tale.

Mixxy, I'll have to look back and see if Hiro really was in Kensei's armor. Perhaps it was your generic samurai armor, or something similar.
Habukberht
Well, everyone has probably seen episode 2 right now. So seems like Mixairian was right. I'm still not sure how it's gonna play out... but last nights episode was really cool. If you notice though, Peter can't perform any of the powers that Sylar has stolen UNLESS he has come into contact with the person that Sylar stole the power from. I am thinking that He actually stole Sylar's ability to "see how things work" but not the "stolen" powers Sylar has taken. Correct me if I am wrong of course, but I just can't recall a situation where that has happened. The brother and sister mexican duo are pretty interested, and I'm looking forward to seeing wtf is going on with that. (Of course with all the black oil from the eyes it reminds me of storylines from the X-files). I am hoping Peter gains full control of his powers again and beats down those prick IRA guys, taking the box back.

Also, I think that the guy attacking Mrs. Patrelli was the invisible guy from season one.
Michael Corleone
I liked how Hiro used his powers to take those bandit's swords and arrows.
Habukberht
But neglected to do so to stop the arrows from hitting Kensei... Of course I like how we are seeing repeat powers now.

What with crazy stalking flyer guy and Kensei regenerating.

Also, was anyone REALLY happy Claire's toe actually grew back? I was worried there for a few minutes thinking she'd be a nine toed freak.
Michael Corleone
Truthfully, I was gonna laugh if it didn't grow back.
Habukberht
Dude, it would have ruined her for me. Claire with ten toes is hot... but I can't have funny dreams about a nine toed freak.

You could dream her having ten toes.
Habukberht
It wouldn't be the same man... it just wouldn't.
Michael Corleone
Well, if she's in your dream, and she had nine toes, just put a bag over that foot.
Habukberht
I'd have to put a bag over her head. That Nine Toed whore isn't ruining my dreams. That's what the kids do... NOT HOT WOMEN FROMS THE TEEVEE!
Michael Corleone
Um, okie dokie then.
Habukberht
In all seriousness though, I really wish they didn't show so much of the cutting of the toe with the scissors. My Fiancee and I were unable to look.
Michael Corleone
I watched Hostel in the dark, alone. Claire chopping off her toe wasn't that bad for me.
Habukberht
The only thing that CAN bother me is losing Toes or Fingers. I used to be a meat cutter and having SEEN these things happen... and part of my job involving the possibility of losing fingers... i have a sort of phobia.
Rae-Rae =^.^=
I accidentally was playing a video game last night thinking, "oh, just for a couple minutes", and then all of a sudden it was 9:35 and I started swearing to myself... profusely. But, luckily nbc.com posts up all the episodes.

I was partially hoping that the toe wouldn't grow back... just because i think it would be funny too. Maybe Kensei is her descendant, since he also has healing powers, which surprised me. I wonder if certain powers can be predicted based on heredity among the evolved.

WTF attacked Angela Petrelli? We still haven't learned the purpose behind the symbol yet, either.
Habukberht
Well, unless Hiro did some crazy time travel stuff, I doubt Kensei is her descendant. :-D

But yeah, they could be distant relatives. But that doesn't make sense to me as she is the daughter/niece of Nathan and peter respectively. And neither of them have those abilities. And the kid who flies and is apparently going to be a love interest of Claire's ( that's what i'm getting)... if he is related to Nathan... were talking messed up :-p

I dunno, I see it more like the mutant thing.. where they MAY have similar powers, but not necessarily. Cause if you look at the summers family (Scott, Alex, and Vulcan) they all had similar powers. If you look at the Cassidy Family (Syren, Banshee, and Black Tom) Black tom and Banshee had completely different powers. So it seems to have a very random trigger.

I am hoping it will get explained more like the game Aberrant, where it was a certain trigger that gave aberrants the power that they had. Like the Fireman controlling fire during a school bus fire, or a guy regenerating his limbs after a horrible car accident.
Rae-Rae =^.^=
Gah, I kept confusing myself. I was trying to say either Claire was a descendant, or Kensei was an ancestor, but I guess the two thoughts collided and created that embarrassing mess.

I guess you have a point about the flying kid and the similar powers thing, but I don't think he'll be a love interest as much as he'll be the creepy stalker type. Then again, I thought the same thing about her friend from her original high school early last season, but he turned out to be alright.

Wes' (I think that's his name, the flying kid's?) comments about embracing their powers makes me think he'll become Like Magneto (to stick to the X-Men references) personality-wise.

Did anyone catch the drift when Angela Petrelli was being interrogated, and she mentioned that Kaito Nakamura and she were romantically involved at one point? He could've been her love interest before marrying Peter and Nathan's dad, or after she was widowed. We never hear about Hiro's mother, so maybe they're half siblings? I wonder if Kimiko will be appearing again any time soon...

(My goodness, this post is getting long) Any other speculations about the twins? Whenever I think I'm getting close to the answer, something entirely unexpected happens that puts me back at square one. What IS Alejandro's effect on Maya's powers? Is it merely a sibling bond, or something more? Perhaps, because they're twins, the power was split between them, and they need to be together for it to be easily controlled.... Or maybe Alejandro's power is a complement to his older twin's, since he seemed to be exerting some effort to stop whatever was harming that lady that was helping them cross into Mexico.

In general, Maya's power still eludes me. It doesn't seem like it's a plague, since the black tears come out of herself too. Unless, along with her power, she contains antibodies to keep it from infecting her as well, and because Alejandro is her brother, he inherited the antibodies from their parents too?

Why is it only Tuesday?!?!? A whole week of speculating torture to go...
Habukberht
Gah, tell me about it. But I was under the impression the first guy she was with was gay. I think it was supposed to be eluded to more, but wasn't. I actually think Wes (or whatever) works for the company. But he does fit with a possible future villian/magneto reference. However, if his only power is flying I don't see him controlling a "brotherhood of evil mutants" anytime soon... I mean, Magneto was actually powerful. You wouldn't see Angel leading a terrorist organization.... anti aircraft would handle him. He may just turn out to be a plot device to allow Claire to embrace her ability.

As for Hiro being a half sibling, I don't see them throwing in ANOTHER random family connection. I think Hiro is full japanese. Hiro also seems to be very young compared to Nathan and even Peter, so I don't think that would be an issue. I doubt that Nathan and Peter would miss out on a pregnancy in their mothers case. I am curious if we see Hiro's sister ever again, and if she will have a power that has manifested.

As for the twins, I think that you are right and one fully formed power was split between the two. She hurts people, he stops her from erupting and can heal the people. The black oily tears thing has me nicknaming them Exxon and Valdez.

I for one and glad for the lack of Nikki so far... I really can't wait until someone kills her. She seems to be the only character I don't like. Odd because I actually like Mica a whole lot. But I doubt his current state could be due to her parenting... cause she is a bitch.

Kensei == Jesus. smile.gif Nah seriously. He could be Claire's descendant or he could have more powers.

Also. The attack itself could be a number of things. Easiest is TK using paper, glass or small metal shards to slice. That would be boring though. Could also just flat out be "TK knives". TK you move objects with your mind. If you push someone with TK, you can imagine it as an invisible fist hitting someone. Or in this case an invisible blade.

If you go with plague, he can absorb it back into him and break it down. Her power may be similar to draining life or taking ones soul... Perhaps even putting something inside a person that kills normal folk. His power is a counterpoint to it.

As for Claire's new buddy. Let's go with evil clone for now. That sounds comic-y enough.
