I wouldn't give up quite yet - we've only seen Cale, Sooba and Krunch down below in the catacombs (presumably that's where they are, anyway). Richard and Benny are MIA. Probably still with the group but well . . . we know how Richard's attention span is.

Rox. Krunch is totally mad, the bard is funny one, and yes, I believe it's the girl the command was talking about - "Ye'll tell me girl, aye?". As much as I am familiar with dwarven, I'd say she is daughter of the commander. Definitely looks young to be his wife.

So, Benny, the archmage and Richard are "attending to the magics", while Cale, Krunch and Sooba are having fun with some dwarf babe and artifacts if immense power. Fun.

Actually, I'm wondering if Benny and Richard are off to revive Tavor. I mean, they probably remember that he was depicted in the statue and they know that they might need his help getting the Sword. The way I see it, Benny could be going to heal Tavor and Richard's going along to try and bully the elf into helping if he won't willingly.

Considering that this is supposedly the door to the catacombs... or at least a door leading to a hallway leading to the important catacombs... it's a low-security door. I mean, wood? Not very heavy wood. No metal reinforcements? tsk tsk. Let me guess, Kethenecian craftsmen worked on a budget and had to cut corners somewhere.

Technically dwarf girls kick ass, but I don't want a dwarf girl replacing Tavor. On the other hand she has this "I'm a player character (or a mayor NPC), and I'm too cool to die!" vibe. She is also alone, with a dramatic entrance, that's as good as being a named character. And as everyone knows, having a name can make the difference between death or survival.. Just ask What's-his-Name Guy on Galaxy Quest.

Am I the ONLY one here who think the Kinethicans are all a bunch of psychos? I mean, what the heck are they supposed to be preserving, other than a bunch of buildings? All I've seen thier citizens do so far (other than the poor peasants killed by Richard) is kill each other...and NO mention was ever made byt the Archmage or the general about saving any Kinethicans...just the buildings. And now they're killing thier own army becasue some people born in the wrong province MIGHT theorieticly have alliegances elsewhere?

As usual it seems the only halfway decent people are the ones Richard takes out...which is not only annoying..it's getting a little BORING. Here's hoping something happens to break the trend.

Well Richard wants to slaughter the world, it helps to take out the most powerful first so there no resistance when you slaughter the weak.

I don't think Richard "took him out" so much as repaid the favor of leaving him behind without a second thought. I mean, if your friends left you in an alleyway with a giant puma for a protector, you'd probably want to beat the living Hell out of them with... like... a rock... or something. Ahem. I can't wait to see where this new woman takes us. And how did she not get hit by the mighty hammer? The door practically disintegrates and there she stands unscathed. She must have skin of stone!

It is very possible and with Tavor's attempt on the archmages life I don't think Cale and the others see taking him back as an option.

What I don't get is...when did Cale learn to prioritize?? A random woman comes wailing by about the army attacking itself, and his reply isn't, "We must help! We must stop Teh Traitors (whichever they may or may not be)!!" but..."Not our concern"?? Boy, I guess he swallowed the archmage's story hook, line, and sinker. Sheesh!

But that is what makes Cale so adorable! He's completely trusting and takes the bait without so much as a fight. But, yes, it was Krunch who split the door. I think its a fluke with her hatchet being buried in wood. I mean, the door exploded open. Wood HAD to hit something. It had to. I wouldn't be surprised if she took a step forward and landed into grated cheese.

What if, and this is assuming openly, she IS robbing the place? I mean, the mask... c'mon, unless you're a superhero (which she obviously can't be, sans the cape and everything), you're an antagonist of some kind. And if she was robbing the place, why would she be in a fighting stance at the very door they were meant to open? Personally, if I was going to jack something from the old man, I wouldn't be in a locked room. Bad for business.

It doesnt look likely that they would bring Tavor back with them since thats where they found him waiting in the first place.

It's LIKE WoW, not WoW itself. Just from looking at Cale, I'd guess that he's one of Gamlon's descendants; he's not as ruddy as the Vulii.

What's "poorly drawn"? If you're talking about Order of the Stick, it started out as a joke and became a hallmark of Burlew's, now other webcomic artists (well I know of at least one) are copycatting the stickfigure art.

I think Cale has hit a point where he's become numbed by events; he cannot stop the killing, he cannot save Gamlon, he saw his friend Tavor attack a "harmless old man", now there's a war on and he cannot stop a whole army by himself. Not to mention Richard admitted to slaughtering a whole village. No matter how strong Cale's mental shield of denial is that keeps his innocence intact, it's wearing thin.

But of course. That's how dwarves work. *sagenod*

She was actually a little farther back from the door (or perhaps next to it), and then took a step forward, dual-wielding her axes, into the splinters left of the door.

I think it's also very possible that something will happen and his ghost will be relieved of its ties to this realm (in one way or another), so he'd finally be able to rest in peace (or not).

I'm pretty sure that Tavor is not going to be left behind. He will either be forced to help the group finish their quest or he will fulfill his task and be able to pass on. Either way, I think Cale cares too much about him as a friend to just forget about him. And there are just too many "loose ends" that need to be tied with Tavor before he can just leave the story.
