Hey, i just wondered. Why is Cale blond? We havnt seen alot of blond elves, i bet its some kind of totally cool mark or something. Must mean he is a pure-hearted elf. There weren't any blondies in the vulii! I'm also pretty sure he has an important reason to have hair. I mean, someone with hair definetly(sorry, cant type.) wants to hide something under it. I bet its a tattoo with like, total secret meaning, maybe he is the son of the vulii king, or maybe he is *gasp* Tavor's descandant? Oh, wait! Richard's long lost brother! Yep. Blond hair MUST mean something, im sure its not just the way Lar pictured it.

I think that in entertainment, blond hair is often used to represent innocence. It also might imply that Cale is just a little bit ditzy.

I'm going with Lunaya's second theory on this one. Bless his heart, but Cale is a blonde joke waiting to happen.

I don't think its anything SUPER DUPER secret. I think its blonde just becuse it makes him look good, and innocent. could you imagine him with that pitch black kinda hair? i can't. but you know if it does turn out to have some amazing purpose to it, i'll immediently deny everything I just said.

I guess if you think about it, you can read a lot of meaning out of everybody's hair color. Cale is a blonde because of his innocence and naivete. Tavor's dark, prematurely graying hair reflects that he is somewhat Cale's opposite, world-weary and clever. Benny's fuschia might represent her uniqueness and the fact that we can't see Richard's hair adds to the mystery surrounding him.

And Krunch? I guess his hair is gray so Benny can call him "old cow" and mean it. *grin*

i agree, when i make a tauren (omg! WoW reference) i try to make it so they have long, grey hair, because it looks wiser that way

Here's a novel idea: the person who colored it decided he would just groove as a blonde. You know, he might not even be blonde. Those tresses could be a severe skin reaction or birth defect. You know... like lice or dandruff.

I've got it! While drawing the first comic, Lar's black color pencil ran out while drawing Richard. Picking up the first reasonable color he could find, he chose yellow and sealed Cale's fate as a blonde.

But I agree with Warboss, each and every minor and relatively insignificant detail actually hides something sinister. Like those 3 dots on the archmage's head? Those are actually nuclear war heads set to detonate when the archmage dies. Richard knew this and that's why he stopped Tavor from killing him.

Honestly, Sohmer and Lar need to boost Cale's rep as a male or something. He's starting to look like Chris Rock's character "Caretaker" from The Longest Yard. Instead of being four stars, he's looking like half a star. Quick! Save Our Cale!

Well, they did draw him shirtless once or twice, leaving little room for doubt as to his true gender. Hm, now if they somehow managed to work in a shirtless Tavor, they would probably make this lonely fat chick very happy.

Eh... I felt that the current state of Cale should be preserved. Otherwise, it'd probably be hard to emphasize Richard's personality as the two serve as a sort of comical foils.

And Iloverichard...I don't think Cale is secretly a girl...I think he really wants to be a girl, he was just born in a boys body. In one of the comics they should have him dress up in a pretty pink dress and prance about proclaiming that he is the candy cane queen
