So when I read books I usually don’t even pronounce names right in my head or really dig to deep into the description of characters physically, I usually just create what they look like and how I think their name should sound. On that note I picture R.A. Salvatore’s character Artemis Entreri to look exactly like Richard! Suffice to say this makes the Drizzt books much more entertaining.
Just wondering if any one else see him potentially looking like this or if anyone else purposely mispronounces names or makes up there own versions of how characters should look.
Cheers
Lady's Man
(P.S. I'm not actually lady I just don't want my retardid posts tampering her name)

I always pictured him looking kind of piratey... kind of like Clint Eastwood meets Jack Sparrow.

If you look at the book "Servant of the Shard" there is a picture of Artemis with Jarlaxxle. Artemis looks sweet, but not like Richard.
I see Artemis as a face you see everywhere but just can't place face.

If anybody has read the Redemption of Althalus by Eddings, I always pictured Artemis to be a lot like the books namesake: Althalus. Down to Earth look. Kind of like your average everyday fantasy adventure hero... except, not so much.
If that makes sense.

I've read it and loved the book. Great book. Artemis isn't really a hero. He's Neutral Evil. Like Richard.

Artimis is definitly not a nice guy but he has shown some mercy and kindess. It just depends. As far as his appearance it's already been done. He's got really short hair from what I remember, practically fuzzy on his head, kinda like a Soldiers hair cut and I think he had a goatee as well. He's definitly mean looking though.

I don't like Salvatore, and think he's overrated. =D

Your mom is overrated.
I'm serious, she is.
Anyway... the new Salvatore book (sequel to Promise of the Lich-King, can't remember the title) has a pic of artemis on the cover (for that matter... POTLK had him on the cover too... he was stabbing a gargoyles face), and in both, I think he looks like an evil Christian Bale.
CHRISTIAN FRIKKIN BALE!!!

Eh, I can't say much about Artemis. I mean, sure, he's a great character (one of my favorite), but I prefer Jarlaxle. I just prefer him because he's such a humerous character, XD. Yeah, but on another note...Anyone else enjoying the insulting of Drizzt? Well, not really insulting, but still, it's a good laugh either way.

You can say that again!
Oh wait. You did. Why?
Anyway, both Jarlaxle and Artemis are by far cooler then Drizzt.
Evidence that Drizzt is a pansy:
Is constantly talking emo to himself.
Cannot hold down a girlfriend to save his life.
Has a sword named 'Twinkle' (I mean, come ON!)

he could have a sword name Tinkle, that'd be worse.
And yeah, I often picture characters as totally random images, usually of things from tv/life.

I don't really conciously picture characters, I just kind of make up an immage and go with that. I just can't ever remember what they look like untill I read a book with the character in it again though, XD.
Not saying this in Drizzt's defence, but if I had an enchanted sword, I wouldn't care what I had to call it, XD.

I do the same thing. =O
Y'know what's fun? Casting characters with celebrities/people you know.

Artemis Entreri is a great character, but I don't find any likeness to Richard. Let me illustrate.
- Artemis uses his jeweled dagger. He slashes and dices through a mean group of soldiers that wouldn't let him through. He leaves all the corpses behind without so much as a second look.
- Richard runs into a camp of peaceful gypsies that welcome him in. He casts a fiery nova spell. He spends hours raising skeletons to fight each other and using the corpses in a sick meat puppet show.
Richard enjoys what he does, and does it out of pure enjoyment not need
Jarlaxle has more similarities with Richard regarding character. He's usually way more at ease with himself than Artemis. Drizzt is a cool character, but sometimes his self-doubt and conflict become annoying. I enjoy Richard constantly demeaning Cale. It's a guilty pleasure for me.
