Mean old Benny. She's just as manipulative as Richard. At least she seems to understand him better than the others. I just wonder how they'll react if this recent expenditure of Richard's energy really does him in this time. He probably can't die from it, but like I said before, he's probably going to need one heck of a nap after this. So far, Cale's the only one who seems the least bit concerned about Richard himself.

I never thought of Richard being someone who would repeat a joke twice. Unless he's really wiped out and delirious.

As Krunch said there before. Evil (including mean and other negatives) are "loaded" words. What can be evil to one person can mean the difference between life and death for another. Benny just wants to get that sword and get Aeloon off her tail.

Sinkaro, Richard is a he. Obviously, Benny wouldnt call Richard an it, then switch back to He later on in the page. She was refering to the portal.
Besides, she calls him a he twice in this page alone.
Anywho, that aside, I hope Richard will come out of this ok. I couldnt imagine a Richardless comic. And even if he just falls asleep, hopefully not for too long...

Spyder- Benny isn't so much mean, as realistic. Like she said, it is all in the proper motivation. Richard's motivation is just different than ours is all. Cale's way works for us, Benny's way works for Richard. The Black Emperor, hmm... I like it.

In the previous comic, Benny asked "Is no one going to ask how he managed to crucify himself" then "He doesn't travel at our side because..." When she uses "it" therefore, it CAN'T be Richard she's talking about. I don't think she's correcting Tavor, but pointing out that the intense power Richard is channelling threatens the portal itself.

All richard wanted when growing up was a pony. Richards Dad was not happy with this.

When Richard was on his first riding lesson some orphans ran by and spooked his horse. The horse then trampled Richard to Death. All the while Richards could think of nothing else then how this would not have happed if his dad just would have gotten him a pony and how much he now hated orphans.

This rage and hate turned him into the undead menace u see today.

Hm, not likely. All she did was...well, fuel his power with horrible thoughts of what would happen if he failed--hell forbid he'd ever do that, anyway. I am not stating one way or another what Richard is. As I said, it was likely an acknowledgement to the forumites who insist on coming up with ludicrous notions that Richard is/was female, or that Benny is part Krunch part Shark. That is, subtley breaking the fourth wall. The "it" was in quotations, meaning she was replacing a word. If she meant portal, she would have said portal. "Can the portal take it?" Seeing as how it's improper english to refer to a noun without mentioning it by name first.

It's like a first grade research project. "Richard is very cool. He is a warlock. He is mean." It becomes redundant.

And obviously, Benny can do whatever Sohmer wants her to.

I my by one of the last to notice this, but Richard's imps name was Hctib Elttil. Little Bitch backwards.

I wonder if that look is a result of fatigue mixed with a little bit of hurt at Benny's comments. Not that he would ever admit to letting someone else's words affect him, but this is the first time Benny, or anyone in the group has ever called him out. I also wonder if what Benny said about Richard's motives is how she really feels.

"He didn't join us because he secretly wants companionship." She might really believe these words or she might just be using them to provoke him...or it might just be poking fun at all the forum fans who believe that Richard is merely lonely.

All I know is, Benny seems to understand Richard the best, and if there's anyone who understands his true motives, it's her. My guess is, Richard really does care (deep, deep down), Benny knows this and she's stating the opposite as part of the effort to provoke Richard into trying harder.

EDIT: I also noticed that the last two panels of dialogue have been tweaked slightly since last night. Before it was:

Richard: ..for..
Cale: What? What are you trying to say?

Richard: ..for pony..

Now they have it so that Richard struggles even more to get the words out. The change makes him seem even weaker than when I first read it. I'm not sure if it means anything, but I thought it was interesting that they would change such a minute detail.

Well as for questioning Richard's motivations for joining the group, I think Benny is dead on. Richard seems fundamentally and enthusiastically brutal. The one reason he seems to have stuck with the group thus far, is bloody murderous battles are coming in an endless supply to them.

Although if there's any reason other than the sheer joy of killing things (As he's stated before) it would be to try and get Cale to loosen up a little and enjoy being evil too.

i have to agree with that, i mean, everyone has a spot just for the little feelings in their (might i say) heart. even Richard, who loves killing and enjoys seeing people suffer. he's got it bad. and if you know what i mean, i'll give you a cookie. a big monster cookie with melted chocolate chips in it

Well now, it seems that the latest comic (In Richard's sense) can be translated into two basic ideas. Either Richard is the heartless, souless person we all have come to know and who is only motivated by jabs at his pride OR he is NOT and in fact does have some bit of something fluffy inside the internal organs of dust and worms and spiders and... something.

Only time will tell...

While i was baking a mint chocalate cheesecake today i had an interesting thought. what if when richard was alive he/she had a pet pony he/she loved and lacked the power to stop it from gettin stolen killed or some other traumatic event. Maybe richard got killed at the same time? Then in undeath richard vowed never to lack the power to do anythin he/she wanted again? Or somethin along the vengeful vow line.
