I'd put up the picture of me in a pile of hat's but I'm screaming in pain, turns out there was a nazi helmet in there and I landed ass-first on the spike.

Those weren't Nazi helmets, that was most likely a WW1 German officers helmet, the nazi's didn't want to distinguish their commanders so easily.

Whatever it was, it hurt like hell.

If it was in a costume shop then its unlikely to have been real. Especially if you broke it, those things were built to last

It wasn't made the same way, one thin sheet of metal and the spike attached, probably took about 10 minutes to put together.

I must say I'm a bit confused, my profile says I'm male and I use an avatar of a bearded lion's head. How is it that people seem to think I'm female?

The lion looks a might effeminite? I am as stumped as you, I just assume everyone on the internet is a boy, then work from that if there is any pictoral proof otherwise.

If this mistake had been made only once I wouldn't care, but twice in as many days? Somethings not kosher here.
