I personally like the Alliance, but have 5 of each - it mixes things up and keep the game from going stale. Just me, perhaps....

I have rolled several characters on both factions and personally enjoy horde over alliance. My reason is just that I prefer the mentality of the horde to that of the alliance. Trying to explain it beyond that... eh.

I have characters of both but i like both fairly equally i love Gnomes so a vote for alliance and i like orcs its just hard to decide.

I only have Alliance Characters (3 active toons).
Just because a friend of mine started playing Alliance when we first started playing WoW.
So I joined him at the Alliance.

I voted Alliance. No, don't gt me wrong; I love Horde. Especially the Forsaken, Tauren and Trolls. Bút.. I hate questing in Hordeville. It just puts me off something dreadful.
I have three Night Elves, two Humans, one gnome, one forsaken and one troll. Suffice to say; none of them high level. One 55, rest lagging behind at a snail's pace. Why so many? I like diversity. Why so low in level? Because I like my life.

My main 70 is an alliance rogue, wheras my alt is a 60 horde rogue. Personally I prefer Playing Horde during the leveling process, but the sheer number of alliance vs horde makes group finding/pvping/whatever else a bit easier. Granted Allies never get to experience the sheer wonderment of Barrens Chat. "Wheres the quest for whatever?" "UR MOM!!11!!! ROFL" "HE PWNED UR FACE N00B!!!11!"

Ok, I'm just going to leave it at I've had some very bad Alliance experiences and have found the Horde to be much kinder to me.

As much as Barrens chat may be a bastion of undistilled idiocy, at least it isn't linked to other zones, like Ironforge is... and the stupidity seems to rebound through the trade and general channels, doubling and redoubling until it becomes mind-numbing. No wonder dwarves drink so much.

Alliance scrub reporting!! I don't know, both sides feel the same to me. I remember on my undead lock I played before I lost my first account, it was the same experience with my alliance characters. So the only factor that sways me from side to side are how many friends I have one on faction on a certain server!

Granted, it's been a LONG time since I've played Horde, so I'm not sure how many times a pugger horde side gets to experience telling the mage to LoS pull and watching him blinking in and blast waving >_>;;

Yes, it happens frequently.

I don't play WOW, but I've played Warcraft Setting since the days of Sprites, before there was even an Official Warcraft Pen and Paper RPG.

The mentality is due to the playerbase. Alliance attracts alot of kiddies and those who want to play 'pretty' races. Horde attracts the serious gamers and wannabes.

That said, I'm Horde. Troll to be exact. Buorhann on Ner'zuhl if you want to harrass me folks.

i disagree with your statement. i joined the alliance because all my friends played on the alliance, not because i wanted to be the good guys. from their perspective, the horde are the good guys (though their roots arent) and the alliance are evil. tell me, how are tauren evil?

i voted alliance cause thats the one my main is on, though i also have horde characters and my primary alt is a horde. (forsaken warlock to be specific)

but frankly, im getting bored of WoW. again. hopefully i can find another MMORPG for macs that i can stick with and not get right back on after 3 months. (thats what happened 3 months after the last time i quit.) anyone know of any MMORPGs that work on macs?

When your the horde you see the evil side of the Allies, like where theres that forests the allies cut down and theres nothing left. But as Allies you also see the evil side of the horde.

I remember I quit WoW 3 times up till now.

Everytime I quit I remembered how boring it was, now though? Its actually fun for me. Then again we're all almost leveled up, got somewhat decent gear, and we're getting ready to join Season 2 of Arena PvP.

Can't wait.

I would like to get into PvP gotta level from level 22 to 70 though but still all in all the game is fun.

I don't play WoW, I rather not risk getting addicted to the game since I have so much else to do outside but if I played I would most likely play a Night Elf.

Horde.

Horde, most of my friends played horde when i first started. i've played both and i haven't had any issues with the maturity of players on either faction. i like being undead the most.

Horde for life.

I played Alliance, but I became bored to hell. The Horde quests kept me fairly entertained with laughter.

I quit a while before BC came out and when I came back the only two classes that interested me were Priest and Shaman and I could only see my Priest being Undead and my Shaman being Orc/Troll.

Now I'm 70 with my Shaman and raiding, never regretted my choice.

I play alliance now because all my friends do, yep, I'm a mindless sheep. Anyways, I feel that the Alliance is the more evil of the two sides due to the fact that they remind me of the European Colonists coming in and opressing the natives(settling in Theramoor and putting the orks in the camps.) Course the Night Elves are not imperialistic but they seem like assholes.

The horde on the other hand seems like they have been forced together by being put down by "The Man" Orcs vs. Humies, Tuaren vs. centaur, trolls vs. meaner asshole trolls, Undead/Blood elves vs. Scourge and Humies. They're more like outcasts trying to band together for support, sorta like the Seminole Indian "tribe." It's all just a manner of perspective really.

I view Alliance as honor points. Thats all really.

Don't make me call People for the Ethical Treatment of Gnomes on you, we're much more than honor points and pvp scores...

My first wow character was an Alliance mage i leveled to 60. To atone for that pathetic act of mine, i have been killing alliance for the last two years. Must...slay...more...

Had to register just for this. Not gonna go off on a tangent, but yeah, the Core Horde (Orcs, Tauren, Trolls) are definitely the Good Guys of Azeroth. Forsaken and Blood Elves, maybe not so much...but it just goes to make the Core Horde look better for lettin' them join

Also, Night Elves and Draenei should be ashamed. Both of their races have been previously corrupted by the Burning Legion; Sargerras started the Crusade by corrupting most of the draenei race, and the Night Elf nobility destroyed Azeroth through the demonic taint of arcane magic. So you'd think they'd have a little compassion for the orcs, but they're all, "no, you slaughtered almost our entire race/killed our last demigod!" Psh. Buncha whiners.

Night Elves and Draenie should be deported. Their blunders will scre us all eventually.

Since my favourite class is druid, I have to choose either between Night Elves or Taurens. And personally I can't stand the Tauren starting area, let alone running around as a large cow day in and day out. Don't ask me how being an elf is any better. But it's slightly better.

Plus all my friends are on alliance so it's a pretty easy choice for me.

I don't believe there is a good or bad side to Azeroth, the Alliance looks nice and clean on the outside but are just as evil as anyone else and Horde, well being a band of misfits are still not all that innocent, except Tauren who i think are not evil at all... inducing visions? My guy was getting baked on something i think they are just hippies. As for the Undead they are bad... Zombies are not good EVER. And blood elfs... i don't own Burning Crusade yet so i can't be sure. As for Alliance the humans are just conquestors and the Dwarfs just wanna mine and drink ale, Gnomes want to build stuff NE are to worried about their damn forest to do anything and as i said don't own BC so i don't know about Drenali.

Also for the Horde getting put down by "The Man" If i ruled the world id make the man give me head.

For a druid, warstomp, 5% hp make the argument non-existent. Of course NEs can run back to their corpse faster or hide better when they see a cow *snicker*

Well honestly I like both sides, It usually depends on what server your playing on.

On my PvP, the Nightelf starting area is so full of spamming No0bs it makes my head want to explode, which is why if you ever see a lvl 2 nightelf female running around the alliance area, that's probably me getting a new char to some other area.
I play horde and while the barrens can get really irritating after a while, it's never enough to make me want to give up my tauren. I likes my tauren.

On my RP server, however, most of the Horde are jerks (I'm making a generalized statement). Getting for lvl 20 to 30 is nigh impossible because of all the undead rouges backstabbing me. I'm sure it's somewhat of an issue on the horde side as well (gnomes instead of undead, I presume), but I never had as much trouble with my tauren lvl'ing and getting smited. That and most of the horde rp really, really bad. (again generalized statement).

I like playing both sides =P. It generally up to the individual as to what they're looking for in game content.


That and the cat form for Nelfs is WAY better looking. ...but I hate playing a nelf female. Poledancing?!?! I can't properly play an ice queen hunter and POLEDANCE over the body of my enemies! (sorry, pet peeve. That and gold bikinis...)

Actually Neither the Drainei (sic) nor the Night elves did anything bad. The Drainei (sic) are Eradar who refused to join the Legion and the Night elves are the decendants of the original elves who did not use the arcane (unlike the Blood elves and High elves) Although they are guilty of arrogance with that new tree of theirs

The Comparing the humans to Europeaon Colonists isn't really accurate either, (unless you mean the starting quests where you kill harmless kobolds who aren't bothering anyone, yeah then they are being dicks) for the most part the Humans are just trying to defend themselves, the Forsaken want to wipe them off the continent after all. The orcs are more like Europeon Colonists in a way, They arrived on the world as conquorers after eventually being defeated they fled across the sea and immidiatly started fights with the native quillboar and have been oppressing them ever since. Trolls haven't done anything overtly evil except for a few quests where you go get ingredients so a troll can execute a night elf prisoner in some spectacular manner. The tauren are the rare truly good race in the game the only thing they are guilty of is ignoring the allies deforestation habits that seem counter to the tauren culture (but then the Night elves are guilty of the same thing when they ignore the dwarves blasting apart the landscape in the name of archeology)

But after saying all that I really like the feel of the horde particularly the orcs and trolls both just trying to fight the demons of their past. Also my Girlfriend plays Horde so here I am.

I play a Tauren Druid. From what i've found the Horde are alot better, i've found the majority of people nice and helpfull and not stupid little bratty kids bitching all the time. My alliance character I deleted because
A: I couldn't stand ANY of the areas that they had to quest in, I also cannot stand Dwarves or Gnomes.. ugly little rugby balls they are.
B: As stated before the majority of people are stupid little kids

There is no good and evil. The Tauren allied with the Horde because when they got attacked they went to there humans (who they had an alliance with) and then the humans told them to deal with it themselves, so they went to the orcs and got there help. Then when the alliance attacked the Orcs the Tauren owed them and became there allies in defence. The Tauren have done nothing wrong but not want to get wiped out by a invading force.
The only race that are truly evil are the Gnomes and Dwarves. Just look at them... so ugly...
(No offence to Gnome or Dwarf players, i've had so much shit from those races though that i've developed a loathing)

Horde, end of discussion. I couldnt sleep every night knowing my char on my favorite MMO ever was some gnome or night elf. TO be more specific, I'm undead, and I'll make all my chars the same... SCREW YOU AC BASTARDS!!!
