I was looking through the wallpaper art and noticed that one wallpaper featuring Joon Looked like the right side of her face was badly scarred. In the comic you see a tooth sticking out but it doesn't look like she is scarred at all. So my question is this, is her face scarred or not? It might seem to be a minor point but she's one of my favorite characters but if I decide to send in some fan art, I would like to depict her accurately.

Crazy Dreams and Nightmares

Okay so lately I've been having these rather disturbing nightmares. I think I have an idea on what my subconscious is trying to tell me, but I figure I'll ask for multiple opinions.

Over the weekend, I had a dream where I was in my room and I fell asleep on my bed (yes a dream within a dream). I had a dream that there was a youngish woman who wanted my services for this inventing company. Suddenly my dad wakes me up and he warns me against it. I ignore him and say it will be fine. The next day (I guess...its dreamleand) I go outside and there is the woman from my dreams inside a Mini Copper looking car. I hop in, thinking that I'm going to a bright new future, then suddenly I...well you can't say feel, because you really don't feel in a dream, but...something smack against my head, and the next thing I know is I'm in a room. I hear voices outside and they are talking about me not being able to escape. I escape and they start shooting at me, but with the amazing power of dreamland I was unharmed. So I run to the wall phone and find that the line is cut, so then I go outside, into a yard that looks a lot like mine. There's a little girl standing there and in a creepy monotone voice she asks me for my glasses. I say hell no, and then she replies that I'm not going to need them where I'm going. I proceed to fly away at a rapid speed, then the next thing I know is I'm in a S.U.V. with the girl, except she's huge and she says," Oh yaeh! A new dolly to play with." And she's holding a f*cking scalpel in her hand.

Then my alarm cloak went off thank god.

Then last night I had a dream where my family was moving, and me and my brother were tasked with watching our stuff while Mom and Dad got tickets for the plane. I'm playing on my Ipod and my brother had something to do. Suddenly a man comes up and threatens to kill me if I don't give him all our luggage. Obviously I give him everything...but I hesitate when it comes to my flute. I beg him not to take it, and then he shots me. Next part of the dream I remember is a whole bunch of my friends gathered in a room, and then I walk in looking pretty good. They mock me for my stupidity for not just handing it over, but we start talking and having a whole bunch of fun. Suddenly we're in my Spanish class room, and the zombie apcoplaspe is going on outside. We are the only people left and the zombies are trying to get it. We decided to make a run for it, but right as we leave, I realize I forgot my flute in the class room and run back and get it. My friends wait for me, and the guy who asked me out recently grabs my hand and tells me to run faster. We're running and running, and suddenly a zombie grabs the flute case I have strapped over my shoulder. I have a split second and the guy tells me to let go of it. I don't and the next thing I know I'm about to get eated by zombies....

Thank god for that alarm.

So what I think they mean:
Since my flute and my glasses are probably some of the most important things to me, I think my subconscious is telling me that I'm too attached to them and need to let go. Maybe...either that or I have a fear of dying...*shrug* Any ideas?

So share your crazy ass dreams and nightmares, and maybe interpret others and help out!

In Which Richard and Death Meet... Again.

I insist on making a few things known before going on with the fanfiction. 1) I hail from fanfiction, the website, so my idea of fanfiction may be somewhat foreign. 2) If you haven't read Discworld, I don't know if you'll get this, but feel free to try. 3) I know Richard doesn't actually say "fwoosh," but I find it rather easy to picture him making his own sound effects. 4) I like constructive criticism - a lot. Now on with the story!

***

Five minutes ago, Richard had been very put out. Cale, Krunch, Benny, and even Pella had gone off to talk with King Neptune about something or another. And they had left him behind with absolutely nothing to do. It seemed so unfair of them to run off while he was distracted based solely on a wild rumor that he wasn’t suited to diplomacy. That was utterly ridiculous. He liked people (he liked anything capable of simultaneously providing dinner and a show).

He particularly liked whoever had placed this lovely village so squarely in the path of his sulking. They had definitely brightened his day.

“Fwoosh!” Flames engulfed a two-story house, creating a very satisfactory effect as they billowed out from any openings. One woman dived out of a window to escape, but was encased in ice in midair. She shattered on impact with the ground. “Daycare, fifty points. Fwoosh!” Well, at least there was one good reason not to have gone with everyone else. His fwoosh would not have worked underwater, and that wasn’t acceptable. There was no way his day would have been nearly as fun without his fwoosh.

A cloaked figure caught Richard’s eye, mainly because he didn’t believe there could be anyone else in this dinky town who was cool enough to wear a black robe like that. Pulling out his second favorite weapon, Richard leapt at the offender. “Behold the Fork of Truth!” he bellowed, and stabbed the figure with it… which only resulted in a dull thunk.

ER… OW? the figure said uncertainly.

“Oh,” Richard said, disappointed. “It’s you.”

The figure turned around to face his attacker, revealing a skull beneath the cowl. A skeletal hand protruded from the sleeve of the robe to grip a scythe. YES, Death agreed. IT’S ME. He reached around and pulled the fork out of his ribcage. YOU MIGHT HAVE CHECKED FIRST.

Richard snatched the Fork of Truth back and tucked it into his belt. “I don’t exactly make a habit of getting names. Besides,” he added cheekily, “no harm done, right?”

Death’s eyes – or rather, the two distant blue lights that shone out of his eye sockets – flashed. REALLY. THE SCYTHE SHOULD HAVE GIVEN IT AWAY.

Richard shrugged. “I can’t say I noticed it. I just wanted to take your cloak.” Struck by a sudden thought, he spread his arms out dramatically. “You’re here for the massacre, aren’t you?” he asked delightedly.

Death could not actually clear his throat, but Richard caught a low rumbling noise that could be interpreted as such. NO, he replied eventually. I AM JUST HERE. He produced an hourglass from somewhere about his person – an hourglass labeled “King Neptune”. IT SEEMS YOUR COMPANIONS ARE ABOUT TO GET THEMSELVES INTO TROUBLE.

“They’re killing people without me?” Richard huffed. He chunked a fireball at a nearby weapons shop in a brief fit of annoyance. “Anyway, that doesn’t explain why you’re here here.”

I FELT A HUNDRED LIVES BEING DESTROYED AT ONCE WITH THE UTMOST CRUELTY, Death intoned solemnly, AND DECIDED TO STOP BY AND SEE HOW YOU WERE DOING.

Richard was distracted from the conversation as a man fled, screaming, from his burning shop. Richard took the opportunity to disintegrate him.

Death sighed and swung his scythe through the falling ashes, releasing the man’s soul. I SUPPOSE THERE’S NO NEED TO ASK WHAT YOU’VE BEEN UP TO LATELY. His gaze swept over the partially decimated town. YOU CERTAINLY HAVE BEEN KEEPING ME BUSY, RICHARD.

Richard clasped his hands behind his back and beamed. “It’s what I do,” he said modestly.

A boy, no more than ten, stumbled out of the forest and to the side of one of the corpses, where he fell to his knees. “Father! No!”

“Speaking of which….” Richard stretched out his hand toward the boy, summoning energy. However, his magic was stopped just before the fwoosh by a skeletal hand grasping his wrist. He stared at Death, surprised and more than a little vexed. “What?” he whined.

Death reached into the folds of his robe and withdrew an hourglass. It was still mostly full. Richard would have stuck his tongue out if it hadn’t been for… well, several reasons. But the thought was there. HE IS MEANT TO BE THE ONLY SURVIVOR, Death said.

Richard’s eyes lit up and he clasped his hands together. “The only survivor?” he repeated.

YES. Then Death leaned forward and gave him the sort of grin that only an incessantly grinning skeleton could pull off. HAVE AT IT.

Richard ran off, cackling and shooting magical flames at (almost) everyone in sight. The fwoosh, Death decided, was rather impressive. He was going to have to look into that.

A loud squeak caught his attention. The Death of Rats was struggling out from beneath a restaurant, which was, unsurprisingly, on fire. Death reached down and pulled him the rest of the way out. The Death of Rats scrambled up to Death’s shoulder. Together they watched Richard wreak havoc.

SQUEAK?

I DIDN’T HAVE THE HEART TO TELL HIM. FIGURATIVELY SPEAKING, OF COURSE.

SQUEAK, the Death of Rats chided.

I KNOW. When spoken by Death, the two words took on more meaning than any mortal could squeeze into them. He pulled a very large hourglass out of his robe and examined it. Aside from its size, it seemed fairly normal. It was set in a black frame, and a metal plaque was attached to the side of the bottom. However, instead of flowing naturally from the top bulb to the bottom, the sand inside had all gravitated to the gap between them. The Death of Rats reached over and tapped at the glass with his scythe. Death swatted him away, then stopped to peer at the name engraved on it. BLAST. HE’S GIVEN HIMSELF ANOTHER TITLE. I WILL HAVE TO GET A BIGGER PLAQUE… AGAIN. He turned to the Death of Rats, puzzled. WHAT IS A MISTRESS OF MAGMA?

The Death of Rats shrugged.

NO MATTER. Death replaced the hourglass; it disappeared within his robes. Richard had now burst into song and was slaying villagers on tempo.

SQUEAK, the Death of Rats said insistently. SQUEAK!

HE MUST RETURN EVENTUALLY, Death agreed.

Three bursts of flame hit their targets at evenly spaced intervals. “And another one bites the dust,” Richard sang, looking very pleased with himself. Fwoosh! Fwoosh! Fwoosh! “And another one bites the dust….” Two refrains later (one and a half, really, but Richard had blown up a few extra bits of debris to make it even), the entire village had been slain but for the one boy, who had disappeared. “Anything else I can do for you?” he asked cheerily.

Death was silent for a moment. The Death of Rats elbowed him. I SUGGEST YOU PREPARE TO ASSIST YOUR COMPANIONS, Death told him. IT WON’T BE LONG NOW.

Richard tossed off a mock salute and sauntered away. “Nice seeing you again!” he called back over his shoulder impertinently. He began snapping his fingers and hummed a falsetto tune with surprising skill until he was out of sight.

SQUEAK, the Death of Rats protested.

Death shook his head. NO ONE SHOULD KNOW THEIR OWN DESTINY, he said decisively. LET HIM HAVE HIS FUN. He turned on his heel and stalked away from the devastation, black robes swirling around him. Just as he reached the limits of the town, though, he abruptly came to a halt. He turned back and regarded the ruined village thoughtfully.

SQUEAK?

I WONDER…. Death stretched one hand out toward the carnage. Suddenly, a cold blue fire sparked at the edge of his fingers and hurtled toward a cart that had hitherto escaped destruction. The unfortunate cart soundlessly disintegrated into fine black ash.

Death inspected his work with a satisfied grin. FWOOSH.

Richard's Role

This is mostly copied from an old topic I had. I just wanted to add some stuff, but am trying to avoid necro posting. If you want to see the original it is here
----------------------------------

To start off, I'll just point out the other characters established 'roles'

Cale- Okay, I think we can all agree that the Archmage and Dragon Guardians from the past want him to become king. There have been enough hints to that effect. Plus, he's the main character.

Benny and Krunch- They basically were responsible for bringing Cale into his confrontation with Legara. Benny drew him into her confrontation with Aelloon, which started this whole thing. Benny also acts as a fount of information at times. Krunch has helped mellow out Cale's idealisme/nievity, though other factors have greatly contributed.

Pella- She was sent by the Archmage to be Cale's guardian and Guide. I don't think there's much room for argument here.

Richard's really the only ambiguous one in the group. Now on to my main points.
-----

()While Richard isn't as free with information as some of the other characters, he apparently knows a lot about ancient mystical things. On page 15 he instantly recognizes the sword of truth when Benny mentions it. Apparently he also knows what it does, though his explanation is a bit lacking. He also recognizes The Phares on sight, a lost mystical being/item(?) from the beginning of time. He isn't skimping on knowledge. We also see later on that he has known about fellbunny for a while know, something no one else knows about. The man is sharp.

()Not that this really needs to be said, but Richard is uber strong. He might be necessary for the group to win solely based on that.

()The deeper things come into play mostly during the demon court. On page 158 he says that he is starting to remember things, ergo he had forgotten them. He also has been shown to have an abysmal memory, like on page 181 when he can't recognize the guy with blue skin. It's my personal theory that Richard has forgotten large chunks of his memory. It would explain his childlike behavior. He's still a homicidal maniac, but he acts more like a kid in a candy shop than a cold blooded murderer. Part of the reason we grow up(mentally) is because we have experiences that make us. Richard has been dead a long time, he is very strong as noted above, and he doesn't feel pain. Therefore he doesn't get any backlash from his actions. If he has forgotten any deeper experiences in his life, and doesn't get any real repercussions to his actions, then of course he would be childish. It would also make since that if he's lived(or whatever) for hundreds of years (note pg 158) then he'd forget some stuff.

()There are times when he completely drops his childish behavior, besides when he gets angry, and it usually has to do with the deeper bits of himself. The best representation of this is in the demon court. On page 153, just the mention of his name when he was alive is enough to snap him into serious mode. It doesn't last long but it happens. Later on page 158 he explains his actions to the demon judge. Here he isn't in a rage or anything, he's more contemplative. He even stays serious for the entire page. This page also suggests that he started remembering his past life after he met Cale. Earlier on page 115 The Phares remark that there is something deeper, behind the darkness(aka evil murderous tendencies). Richard brushes it off by saying "I'm very deep". I read this as him being wry rather than corny. This all points to there being much more to him than his murderous tendencies, prolific as they may be. He also drops the act on page 256 when talking to the Archmage in his bunny disguise. Again, I see the last panel as a more adult sarcasm than his usual juvenile lines. I believe that if you skim through from the beginning, the mature spells started around the battle with the Phares, and the regularity and length of the mature spells have slowly increased since the demon court arc.

()While I don't think that Richard is a danger to Cale's destiny, on page 210 the Archmage lists Cale's friends as something Pella will have to protect him against. There are also red, glowing evil eyes over his shoulder and, if you look closely, a hint of a hood over them(?). This could refer to Richard being an obstacle or enemy of Cale's rather than an ally. I personally like Richard and hope that I'm wrong here. In fact, this was the only point argued against in the previous topic I had all this in.

() I think that Richard also does a lot to get rid of Cale's naivety and blind faith in ideals. We should all strive for the ideals, but you can't perfectly follow them in an imperfect world. At the very beginning of the comic Cale is rather ineffectual. He needed to lose some of that starry-eyed innocence to become a good leader.

() More recently Richard has been actively affecting how things are going. First, he sent the giant, unbeatable, undead army to the same city Cale is trying to lead people to. He even pretty much says on page 256 that he is sending them to guard Cale's city. Later, page 271, apparently he and Pella both pick up the fact that they need to destroy the Geared Tower to get the gnomes to go with them. Even though Pella was the one to do the dirty work, Richard was perfectly willing to do it. In the very latest page, 304, it is at least half because of him that the sisters and the sons are (we assume) going to follow Cale. He eventually decided to let fellbunny talk to the Matron, who was then told to listen to Richard. I don't think Richard and the Archmage talked this over or in anyway planned this previously. I believe that, despite some of Richard's tendencies, the Archmage just knows that he is on Cale's side. His childish actions before telling everyone to follow Cale is just Richard being Richard. All of these actions are explicitly for Cale's benefit.

I've listed all of this as proof that Richard will have a large part in Cale's destiny, and may even be the deciding factor. While I haven't come up any big theories on how it will happen, I do believe that Richard will have an extended mature spell and that he will be the main reason why Cale's destiny is either triumphant or tragic.

----------------------------------

Kudos to anyone who has read all of this. Anyone who wants to discuss points I've made, or suggest something, feel free. I mainly just wanted to get all my thoughts on Richard down somewhere.

But when you all get shot and cannot carry on though you die, La Resistance lives on."

Let’s get going shall we? Three months at sea and a lot of spare time is about to be put to the test, is it enough to produce my first (semi)successful RP ever? Only time will tell… But for now let’s just focus on making this thing happen. This RP is going to be a fantasy RP driven by a more or less predetermined storyline, but all the players actions can and will have an impact on the overall storyline. Here’s the cheese.

-----------------------------------------

Background
The world of Ostia has always been a world of peace and prosperity. All the nations, Ganfall, Bragon, Menalo and Alm have always been able to get along though their ideologies and morals may have differed. Together they chared the vision of understanding rather than condemning, which lead them to a union across borders, sharing their resources with one another, aiding one another when in need etc. But one nation was left outside this union and despised everything that they accomplished together. Nergal, a seceding state that broke off from Bragon when they started making friendly negotiations with the other nations about aiding them in their time of need rather than conquering them. Because of this the other nations pretty much ignored everything that came from Nergal, which lead to an isolation of Nergal, causing the entire nation to fall into a deep depression.

Unexpectedly enough, Nergal managed to muster up an army big and advanced enough to conquer the other nations, catching them and their snoozing armies off guard, and putting them under their own rule. Now that Nergal was in charge of the other nations they made sure that the previous ideologies were quickly forgotten and ruled with an iron fist, showing no sympathy for the people of the other nations.

Several tries to overthrow the autocracy of Nergal was conducted, especially during the years closest to the take-over, but all of them were quickly squashed by the Nergalian Empire, almost as if they knew exactly how, when and were the rebellious organisations would make their moves against them. Soon no one even dared to think any hostile thoughts about the Empire.

Despite this, one organisation remained to be a constant thorn in the Empire's side through out the ages. Liberation, a very secretive underground organisation that works just as discretely as effective when carrying out their missions to sabotage the Empire's work, supporting people in need, recruiting new members etc. Liberation has been so successful yet so discrete when carrying out their missions that the Empire has gone out and officially stated that the organisation doesn't even exist.

Hundreds of years have passed since the world was conquered. Liberation is continuing their struggle against the Nergalian Empire. The years of their rebellion against the Empire have taken their toll on them though. If anyone is caught to even be in contact with Liberation they are locked up and tortured for life. The organisation is starting to tire itself out due to their lack of recent progress and constant pursuit is making minced meat out of their moral. Faith is running out and most of the members feel like they need a push to get out of the lost motion they are stuck in.

--------------------------------------------

Now that you know the story up ‘till now. Your character will either be a member of Liberation or a new recruit, all up to you depending on what role you want to have, the a character with a lot of experience or a character who brings a fresh breeze to the tired organisation. Like in all of my fantasy RPs you may be what ever race you want to be, as long as it’s humanoid, and any type of class/profession. Please use this template for your character sheet.

Name: (What your character is called {duh}. Write also if you have an alias.)
Gender: (Male or Female.)
Race: (What race your character is.)
Age: (How old your character is, make it realistic for your race.)
Class/Profession: (What type of fighter you are / what your character does for a living.)
Abilities: (What your character can do, cast magic {if then, what kind}, craft tools, rage, sneak, etc.)
Equipment: (Weapons, Necessities, etc. Just make sure that your character can carry it all.)
Appearance: (What your character looks like, hair, eye color, clothing, body type, scars, tattoos, etc. Use description or post a linked picture.)
Height: (How tall your character is, in meters or feet.)
Weight: (How heave your character is, in Kg or lb.)
Personality: (How your character behaves out of battle.)
Time in Liberation: (Are you a new recruit or have you been her a long time? In that case state how long.)
History: (What happened to your character before this RP started.)
Other: (If you have any relevant information about your character that fits none of the descriptions above)

And there you have it. If you want to join just fill in the sheet and post it. My aim with this RP is to make a tactical strike team of characters and send them out on various missions, so try to make unique characters that differs from the rest, just to avoid having 5 elf/human assassins in the team.

That’s all, if you have any questions, feel free to ask. And as always, I’m the god of this RP and I have the Crowbar of Justice ready to bash in the heads of those who try to mess things up.

A little backstory:

My brother plays on Steam and G-Mod, specifically on the Dark RP servers. He has downloaded things that don't mess up our computer. Yes, for awhile G-Mod and our video card clashed, however this was because G-Mod wasn't downloaded with this specific card in mind; so he deleted it, then re-downloaded it and it worked fine ever since.

Right now, we've got two Trojans on his account on the computer. They're extremely isolated, and don't seem to be affecting the rest of the computer. It keeps trying to scan his half and it's getting irritating for him, as he can no longer talk to his friends on Steam as it'll crash it. It popped up twice in Local Settings on his Firefox and once in his Cookies. I can't particularly remember if that was the exact name of the Trojan; in any case, Dad and Mom tried to delete it, but it came back. It came on Facebook.

Can somebody help us? It doesn't happen only when the internet is open; it happens when his account is the one logged in.

One of them was named Freddy73.exe.

Looking for Battle

it seems that no new posting has happened for an idea that I would have to say is an idea that topped all others. The idea was Looking for Battle. what has happened? has everyone forgotten? has everyone given up? I have been waiting for the word that the ball is rolling for this idea, cause it was a thought ofthe ages. take SCA and scale it down alot with foam weapons, make it into a team fight. A couple of friends and myself have been waiting for this to come to the surface cause we would love to run a chapter where we live, we also might have a good following when it starts. Plz if we could get the ball rolling again maybe, just maybe some life could be breathed into it. for the sake of people like myself who have too much time on our hands.

Dragon Age: Origins

Just curious if anybody else has picked this up. I have and I just have to say I'm having MAD fun with it. I plan to replay it a few times because I have to try as many world shattering scenario's as possible. The game is great!!!

I am however somewhat regretting my decision to get it for the PS3. Not due to graphics or game play issues, but because I'm a modder. I've been playing since the Never Winter Nights days and was a big time mod developer then. If I decide to again jump on the "build my own world" bandwagon as I did before (2 months development, 3 months building, 2 months testing only to have it all fall apart at about 75% completion due to burn out) I think I'll have to rebuy the game on PC unless they work out a way us PS3 players can play online modules. 0_o I know the development tools are PC only and I understand why for that, but in order for me to test said modules I'd need a way to test live, which as far as I can tell is unobtainable atm on the PS3. Maybe a patch will resolve this in the future.

But I do LOVE DA:O. I loved NWN and I loved the module community there, I was a little annoyed with NWN2 and it's expansion, I even tried online play but just couldn't find a good RP. It's so lonely when your evil :sniff:

But back to DA:O.. This game is gut wrenching at times, especially if you put emotional investments into your party members which you just won't be able to no do let me tell you. The voice actors are amazing, and some of the funniest dialog happens randomly when your just running around with whatever party you've decided on.

So if your playing and are set up on the community site look me up!! http://social.bioware.com/playerprofile.ph...;nid=2300617358

And by all means leave your opinions, but please don't post spoilers (or at least black them out if you do) in this post. These games are best played through once without knowing the future plot twists so you can make the decisions your character actually would make.

Twilight

Since the arguement is continuing in the other thread I hosted (Hawt Fantasy Creatures) and the thread is supposed to be about what gets your crank turning in regards to fantasy... Well... I figured we could fill pages and pages of debate of whether or not vampires/werewolves of Twilight are indeed what Stephanie Meyer has oh-so-creatively written *sarcasm*.

Edit: Insults/Slander/Discrimination are NOT welcome!
If you don't have an intelligent arguement to make, or you have run out of ammunition for your side of the debate, do not revert to insults. I don't believe this is 4chan. So if you can't provide a good arguement anymore, don't post anything and wait until you can post something that proves a point and have the evidence to back it up. Fact is not argued with "just because"s, it's argued with evidence and concrete proof that supports your statements.

Edit #2: For goodness sake, do not state opinion as fact and do not assume just because it is your's it is correct. A perfect example,

QUOTE

They can go into the sun.
End of discussion. That makes them completely -not- vampire.

Just because you believe something doesn't immediately make it right. Unless you can prove your opinion to be fact, please refrain from repeating the above.

Edit #3: I can only be checking these forums once a day for a couple hours at a time, I will do my best to reply and retort to most, if not every comment and arguement given.

So... I will start.

Vampire
–noun
1. a preternatural being, commonly believed to be a reanimated corpse, that is said to suck the blood of sleeping persons at night.
2. (in Eastern European folklore) a corpse, animated by an undeparted soul or demon, that periodically leaves the grave and disturbs the living, until it is exhumed and impaled or burned.
3. a person who preys ruthlessly upon others; extortionist.
4. a woman who unscrupulously exploits, ruins, or degrades the men she seduces.
5. an actress noted for her roles as an unscrupulous seductress: the vampires of the silent movies.

Werewolf
–noun, plural -wolves
(in folklore and superstition) a human being who has changed into a wolf, or is capable of assuming the form of a wolf, while retaining human intelligence.

(The above are dictionary.com references, click on the names if you don't believe me)

Now, starting with vampires. Yes, the Cullens are sparkly, yes they have special super powers. Yes Garlic does not repel them and neither does a cross. They can cross running water and the seas. (be sure to let me know if I missed anything). However, nothing in the bolded definition, nor any of the others (3-5 being a bit irrelevant) say that they cannot walk in the sun, they do not have sparkly skin, and they are repelled by crosses or garlic. Therefore, in the loosest, but strictest sense, they are still vampires.

Now for werewolves, for any of you that haven't read the Twilight books and are just basing their opinion on what they've heard (Or even worse) just watched the movie, the native american tribe who's youth can transform into wolves, are indeed werewolves. Not even a flimsy connection. It's right there. (See the above definition). Nothing in the book contradicts that, absolutely nothing.

Honestly, I believe people who don't like Cullen vampires, don't like them because it's a variation of something they are familiar with, with something they have grown to know and love. I'm sure as holy-hell not one of the tween girls that are in love with Edward, but I am incredibly tired of arguing semantics, which in fact say Edward and his family are indeed vampires, with people who just say "No, they aren't." My reply is usually "Why do you say that?" to which they answer, "They just aren't. Vampires don't have sparkling skin".

What are you basing your knowledge off of? Books? I really hate to say that books are just exactly that. Books. In regards to fantasy creatures such as vampires, it is a creative universe created by the writer using a former dark ages superstition to base it's story off of. Until it is proven that there are indeed vampires in the world, that the above definitions need to be altered to suit reality, they will, by definition of a fantasy race, remain something that people can manipulate and alter to suit their needs. Stephanie Meyer may have bastardized vampires to some sense, but she has done it within her creative rights and freedoms as a writer.

Anyone that can convince me otherwise, or provide a very good arguement to disprove what I've posted, I welcome your debate. Anyone that is simply going to say "They aren't vampires because they just aren't, I don't like them" please don't bother, I hear it everywhere I go from 40% of the people I talk to about it. (The other 60% being people that are in love with Edward/Jacob)

(Opinion, not fact)
Just as a side note, I also believe that some of the teenagers don't like the Twilight Series because it's something their fathers and mothers can get into. Something that they can read and enjoy because it isn't just sex and violence. It's enroaching on one of the things that teens think are cool, and it follows the same principle as the reason 90% of teenagers don't like the music their parents listen to. Just because it's something their parents like, and it's a rebellion of sorts. Therefore, if the parents can like and love Edward/Jacob, it is a cardinal sin amongst 12-19 aged persons to even consider liking it to some people. The other portion being kids who love Edward/Jacob too much to care that Mom and Dad are getting into it.

I have returned. For those of you who know me, you need no inrtoduction.
To the rest, let's just say that I'm considered to be a good RPer with a lot of experience.

I was thinking about starting a new RP and perhaps join a few ones.

I have two RPs in mind that I was thinking about (re)starting.

Sympathy for the Devil
The RP I started before I left. It takes place in the precent world. Your character have all died and been forced to fight for their lives just for the entertainment of the Devil himself (yet they don't know it yet). Unlike other RPs your characters powers and abilities will be decided depending on what emotions they feel in their current situations. More information about is found at both the OOC and RP topics.

La Recistance de Liberation
This is the RP that I pondered up while I was out at sea for 3 months. It takes place in a fantasy world. The small nation of Nergal suddenly grew hostile, after a long time of oppression from the other nations they somehow gathered enough military strength to fight back and conquer the entire world. No one had ever expected Nergal to stand up and fight back with such force, with numbers and technology never before seen. In less than a week the entire world were at their feet, and Nergal made sure to repay the other nations for their earlier encounters. 100 years later the Nergalian opression continues and any kind of recistance attempt have been crushed by the opressing forces. All but one, an organisation only known as Liberation remains to be thorn in the side of the Nergalian Empire for quite some time now.

Your character will be members (or new recruits) of this small, yet exclusive and notorious rebel organisation, and you will carry out missions to help your organisation and to foil the plans of the empire. (More information will come if you decide you like this one)

Now let me know if you are interested in any of the two RP by replying here. (I won't post any polls, because any idiot can vote with out being interested.)

Before I go anywhere with this post, let me start off by saying,

This is NOT a cybersex thread!

Feel free to be a little dirty, but within the forum rules. Not here to solicit cybersex, do that on your own forum and your own time. I'm just curious what other people's tastes in regards to fictional races. Why? I couldn't tell you, it's one of those morbid curiousities that you have to pursue to it's fullest.

I'll start off by saying,

I absolutely LUUUUUUUUUURB drow women. The ruby red eyes (red is my favourite colour next to purple) and the obsidian black skin is the #1 turn-on for me in regards to fantasy races. Short and slender, completely hairless and with stark white hair and pearly white teeth. Not to mention they generally have better boobs than a regular surface elf. Their attire is absolutely drool-a-riffic. Drow women literally wear as little as they can without showing anything essential (Naughty places) because they know how the minds of men work and use their bodies to their conniving advantage to get what they want. Not to mention they strive for a perfect body, with lean muscles while still remaining feminine and tend to cover what they dont want others to see.

I leave the bat to the next person, I wonder what kinds of things other people like. I personally, if given the choice would not take anything but the above.

Edit: If you have a beef about Twilight or Edward Cullen/Jacob or whatever, don't post it here, I've hosted another thread specifically for this purpose, see below.
http://forums.lfgcomic.com/index.php?showtopic=5497

4th Wall Grand Opening

Forgive me for my radio silence over the last week, but my workload has been rather impressive by its sheer abundance and ability to consume my soul. A couple more weeks like this and I may just have unburied myself from the massive To Do List that amassed over the summer.

It should be noted that the aforementioned To Do List has achieved sentience and engages me in conversation. Unsurprisingly, it’s rather verbally abusive.

The item I wanted to mention today was the upcoming grand opening of the 4th Wall, here in Montreal. The 4th is the our comic shop, one that we’ve put our hearts into over the last couple of months and are finally ready to show it off in full.

The Grand Opening is taking place this Saturday (November 14th) from 11am to 6pm. In addition to being able to walk around the store, Lar and I will also be on hand to chat, sign or dance for you (as the monkeys that we are). Other festivities include raffles, special discounts and an assortment of fun.

For more information, or to RSVP to the event, please head on over to the Facebook page.

Looking forward to seeing you out there.

- Because I can.

Wolves moon

Ok everyone, this is my first story, and, heck, I'm new at this, please, after reading this first chapter, contstructive critism is greatly appreciated, and, dont expect updates on this story to come often, if you even choose to follow this of course, anyway, read, enjoy, and any tips, greatly appreciated. thank you for your time

Time passes, Ages melt, History turns to legend, legend to myth, and eventually, even myth fades from the minds of all. This story, where magic and myth runs open and free, Is set after many events, such as: The war With the Overly impressive Alien race called the ‘Reptiles’ Has been won, at a cost, the cost of a great man, A werewolf, to be exact, The legendary Fornsash Darkwolf, The Leader of Maigam’s order, The ‘Father’ of the werewolves, The oldest Werewolf in existence. Alas, this is not his story, but this is a Story, The story of a man, Known by some, unknown by most, An important actor in days to come, the cast is assembled, the play set, this is a beginning, and an ending, war is on the horizon, war to come, to past, and to cause many falls, and many triumphs, civilization is tested, A story to be known, and story to be told.
Early morning, Dawn, location, unknown, My name, Joshua Tanner, not much to say about myself, I’m white, 5 foot 7’ I have deep sea blue eyes, I weigh about 140 lbs, I’m 19, I usually wear a long sleeved tee-shirt, and black jeans pants, I work as a custom bow maker, at least, I used to… before it happened. I should explain myself, my story; it starts three weeks ago, in southern New York. It was a peaceful morning, I got up, brushed my teeth, and did my morning routine, then, then it got interesting.
On my way to work at my shop, which I walk to, because I had the grace of having an apartment nearby where I work, I met one of my friends, Silva, Pray siriam she is still alive, she works in the forest areas around New York City, I stopped, and we had a chat. “It just wasn’t natural.” She said. “That wolf… it just, seemed to know what I was saying, it was just… too large for a normal wolf.”
“An escaped zoo animal?” I asked after a moment’s hesitation
“The wolf had no identification of any kind, nothing, it was just like a wild wolf, except… larger, it just felt wrong.”
“Weird, I think you need a vacation, anyway, I’ll see you later I’ve to get to work.”
“A vacation… yea, I should get one.” She said absentmindedly. “Oh, Well, I’ll call you after work?”
“Sure!” I said hurriedly, Siriam knows I like her. In a flash, I hurried away, enjoying what I hoped was going to happen tonight, or, so I thought. Fate is a cruel master, so very cruel.
The beginning of my work day was uninteresting, and boring, until around noon. That is when he first appeared in my life.
He was tall, taller than any man I have ever seen, at least 7 feet tall His features indistinguishable under A tattered brown cloak, his hood was up I couldn’t see his face, but I did see his eyes, his bright yellow-orange eyes, the eyes of a wolf. I should have listened to my instincts when he came in, they all screamed at me to throw him out of my store, I didn’t listen, Light! Why didn’t I listen!? “I want a bow.” He simply said in a deep, base voice
“Good place to get one, not one finer in New York.”
“We’ll see.”
I wanted to throw him out, light, I should have thrown him out, Light, why didn’t I throw him out? “What kind of bow do you want?” I asked, still not realizing the danger I was in. “I have longbows, short, hunting, all kinds of bows, take your pick.”
I turned around, and it was too late. With a flash, like a viper, he was on me. Quickly and deftly, he broke my arms and pushed me to my knees, then… he turned into a wolf, and sank his teeth deep into my arm. It only happened within moments, but it felt in slow motion. The next thing I knew was I was in my house, in my bed. “Was it a dream?” I asked myself, and then, looking at the mirror in my room, I saw it, where my ears should be, a pair of wolf ears, grey-black wolf ears, my eyes, a bright orange-yellow, like a wolfs’. I felt… younger, faster, stronger, and healthier. It all came in slowly, at first, I gathered my thoughts, I knew this neighborhood wasn’t the best for me now, for the Neko gangs in the area. I had to leave, I had to run, and I did so precisely, Quickly, I got out of bed, and started to gather things for a, permanent camping trip, Flashlight, pistol, food, water, tent, fire starters, flare gun, with extra flares, and my phone.
When I exited my apartment, there as a note on the ground, and it read ‘On the night of the moon full, meet where the breeze blows from the ocean.’

A little note, this is NOT a fan-fiction of any sorts, just a story based in a universe that a few friends, and I have created and built apon, so, if this is in the wrong place, feel free to delete/move this story admins

Untitled Storyline

Dark clouds swirled overhead as snow whipped and blew around Northern Lordaeron as a heavily bundled male figure sloshed through the thick powder. The snowflakes froze to the coarse hairs of his beard and made clumps of frozen ale and snow. The flask of whiskey he has been carrying with him was stuffed between his leather belt and fur-lined leather jerkin. By now he would have had a healthy swig in order to warm his Dwarfish blood, but, his lips were far too numb for him to get a good grip on the opening of the flask. Peering through one eye, he noted the shadow of a cave nearby. Grunting as he moved, keeping a firm, white-knuckled grip on his heavy blade, he pushed his way through the hip-deep snow toward the cave. Ice hung low from the opening of the cavern, making it appear as the maw of a rabid bear. Being the prideful man he was, he swallowed back his fear and nestled himself in a small culvert just off of the main entryway. If any animals should use this as shelter, he figured they wouldn’t be able to catch his scent. As the night began to draw further in and no sound of animals stirred him, he figured it was an abandoned cave and he could close his eyes long enough to catch some sleep. Curling up into his fur-lined armor and keeping his sword between his legs, he buried his head into his chest and made a makeshift pillow out of his beard. It was as he began to drift into a peaceful slumber that he heard a small sound, like the warble of a wren. Opening his good eye, he took a gander around; squinting his eye as if somehow it would help him to see further into the abysmal darkness. When the noise didn’t present itself again, he shifted his weight against the rocky wall and tried to put himself back to sleep. Again, the noise rattled him from his relaxed state; however, as he took a peek around, the noise began to rise in pitch. Whatever it was it was getting closer and it was using the stalagmites to hide. Keeping perfectly still, he waited for whatever it was to reach him. He could distinctly hear the monster’s nose flare as it took a long, drawn-out inhale as if to gauge how many prey had wandered into its clutches. Against the shimmer of the snow that veiled the opening, the Dwarf could tell size and girth-- it was a yeti. By its gait and thick, horrid stench, he could tell the beast was starving and desperate. Most often, when it snowed like this, yeti were known for retreating to the innards of caverns for the natural sulfuric heat, much like a bear. It must have been a terrible snow for the yeti to be so bold as to roam away from its pack in order to hunt a wayward potential food source. His hand gripped the hilt of his blade. The Dwarf was cold and being in the cave of a yeti pack, he wasn’t about to shed blood, if he didn’t have to. If it came down to it, the blood would stir the rest of the pack, which could be anything from twelve to two hundred-- depending on how deep the cavern went and how easily the pack could care for itself. Admittedly, his heart jumped a bit as he caught the flash of the dim light catch the yeti’s eyes. For a moment, he starred at the color change as if entranced by it; praying silently that the yeti didn’t notice him. For a brief moment that seemed like forever, the yeti stretched its nares to take in another long inhalation. It could smell the Dwarf, but it couldn’t see well in the darkness. Something the Dwarf was thankful for. Breathing lightly through his mouth, feeling the slight whistle from his broken nose would give him away, he slowly crept back toward the maw of the cave. If he could get back into the snow, he figured he could lose the yeti and mask his scent among the trees. Sweat dripped down his bulbous nose and he could feel it running down his hair-covered cheeks. Never before had he felt so nervous.

When he did finally make it back out of the cave, he let out a chilly sigh of relief. While he was accustomed to cold weather, he wasn’t about to sleep in it on account of a few starving yeti. Peering back toward the opening and internally debating on whether or not he wanted to go back and risk fighting off an entire tribe of yeti, he noted a small figure toddle into the cave. At first, he brushed it off as an infant yeti, but as he continued to squint through the snow he noted several attributes that made it appear less like a young beast and more like a young, cold humanoid. By the way it moved, it was obviously a novice and if it made too much noise, the Dwarf was certain the youngling would catch the attention of that none-too-friendly monster inside. Instinctually, the Dwarf wanted to turn around and continue on his journey-- figuring that if the youngling was silly enough to get itself eaten, then, that was how it had to be, however, as he tried to turn in the snow, a twinge of guilt crept over him. Rolling his eyes, he marched back toward the cave. The foul stench of the yeti still permeated the immediate environment around the opening of the cave. The Dwarf knew that this was a sign to other animals not to come near here-- or else.

He peered into the cavern’s darkness, wondering if what he saw was simply an illusion of the snow mixed with an empty stomach or if it perhaps truly was a small yeti. “Oy! Is there anyone ‘ere?” he whispered hoarsely, hoping for some kind of response. Waiting a moment, and keeping his ears perked for sound, he was only met with eerie silence. Frowning a bit, he made himself a little louder, in case the youngling had managed to find the same culvert he had been using earlier. Again, he was met with eerie silence. Shaking his head, he pushed further into the cave. He wasn’t entirely sure why he was doing it, but, he felt the urge to go in as far as he felt would be safe. As he reached the end of the long, stony pathway, he heard soft sobbing-- like that of a little girl. Frowning a bit, the Dwarf sat down and tried to talk the poor youngling out of sobbing. “Ye don’ need t’ cry, lad. We’ll get out ‘a ‘ere and send ye back ‘ome.” The sobbing softened, but, it didn’t cease. Peering around, he removed one of his fur-lined cloaks from his back and offered it to the youngling in the darkness. Hesitant at first, the youngling peered through the darkness at the Dwarf, only able to make out his hefty shape. His light aura was easily felt by the sensitive youth, and trust was slowly given as it took the cloak and wrapped it around its lithe form. Curling the youth in a partial bridal cradle to get it toward the opening of the cave, he dared not take time to discern whether this lad was sickly or injured. It would have to wait-- for he heard the rustling of soft-soled yeti feet making their way to where they were. A moment’s hesitation on either part of the Dwarf or youngling would ensure them as the first-course meal.

“Lad, can ye walk? Run? Anythin’?” The Dwarf asked gruffly. Forcing him to carry his own weight in provisions and weaponry would slow him down if he had to carry this lump of thin, dying weight as well.

“I can try,” the meek voice of a female came through the windy night. The Dwarf’s skin crawled. It wasn’t from the chilly weather. This particular Dwarf had a repellent against women of all ages. Even infant females would squeal at his face. He wasn’t a horribly grotesque man, nor was he emotionally disturbed-- he simply had an aura about him that made anyone of the female gender flee from him. Despite knowing this information about himself, he decided that it was best to take the young woman to the closest village and simply leave her to the locals.

When they had found themselves a good distance from the cave, he hoisted the young maiden into a bridal cradle, keeping his face partially veiled by the mass of leather and cloth that bound around his neck. The woman followed suit, covering herself as best she could; keeping only her eyes visible so she could see the pathways and ravines he was taking. He found her surprisingly light and comfortably warm.

Don’… Don’ start thinking’ li’ tha’. She’s just a youngin’.

After a few hours, the Dwarf couldn’t take much more of carrying her weight-- despite the fact that she was lighter than his pack. There was a small farming community just down the hill and the Dwarf figured that they would happily take her in and find her family, should she have any. It was fairly late in the evening, so the Dwarf was pre-apologetic as he pounded on the door of what he assumed was the inn. It was much too dark to see anything else. As the door opened, a husky, tall man answered the door, bearing his lamplight at the Dwarf and his quivering female quarry. Arching a hefty brow, the man peered over them both, “I don’t know what you’re bringing with you, fellow, but we don’t want any trouble ‘round here.” the innkeeper warned.

“Nay trouble t’ be ‘ad, sir. We jus’ need a place t’ stay fer the nigh’.” the Dwarf tried to keep things simple; however, slave traders were abundant in these parts, especially with the Syndicate’s recent capture of Stromgarde not too far away.

“She looks hurt,” the innkeeper mentioned. The Dwarf sighed. It was against his better nature, as a Paladin, to lie, but he felt he wouldn’t have been welcomed otherwise.

“Aye, she’s a bit worn. Th’ name’s Heikyn Rhodes o’ Ironforge, this is meh young wife. D’ ye ‘ave any vacancies?” Heikyn asked with a little more gruffness in his voice. Although the innkeeper didn’t truly buy the story, he wasn’t about to turn away a hurt young woman or the man willing to give her to a safe haven to heal. Nodding his head, and peering behind the couple, he ushered them into the foyer and past the couple of tables and chairs that made up the small countryside diner. Picking up a slightly rusty silver key from the wall, the man once more turned to the couple.

“We have a suite upstairs. One bed. Sure you won’t mind.” He asked as a slight test. Heikyn shrugged slightly at the notion.

“She’s meh wife ain’ she?” He practically barked to the innkeeper. The girl, scared of what either of them might have been planning, remained silent. She shifted now and then in Heikyn’s arms, but not enough that she would appear unduly uncomfortable.

The man, shortly followed by Heikyn who was still carrying the girl, continued slowly down the hallway. Being the inquisitive human that he was, the innkeeper proceeded to keep a slow pace without making it appear as if he were stalling them or blocking their way. He has a few more questions for this couple. “So, does your young wife have a name?”

“Evangelica,” she responded quickly, understanding that if Heikyn stalled, they may have been thrown out for lying. “My name is Evangelica.”

“Well, Master Heikyn and Miss Evangelica, here is your room. Should you need anything, I live on the bottom floor, first room.” The innkeeper opened the door and allowed them to enter. Heikyn, sparing no time, set Evangelica on the bed and turned to eyeball the innkeeper. With a knowing smirk, the man shut the door, allowing Heikyn to leave the girl long enough to slide the lock.

When Heikyn turned back around to check on Evangelica, she had already curled herself up against the headboard-- paler than a baby seahorse and with eyes as wide and as blue as Elune herself. The poor girl was clearly frightened of what was going through the Dwarf’s mind. Chuckling a bit, he seated himself on an ottoman just adjacent from the bed as he began to remove some of his bulkier armor. “I ain’ ginnnae take advantage of ye, lass. Ye can relax.” He spoke warmly to her.

Slowly, Evangelica began to slide down to the mattress in a more comfortable manner. “Th-thank you.” Her voice was soft, but thickened with an accent that Heikyn hadn’t heard in a very long time. Raising a brow to her, and leaning back some in his chair; he decided to ask some questions of his own. The room itself was already warm. A fireplace stood tall in the corner; the edges of its bricks were blackened just right to hold in heat. The walls were washed white and the canopy bed smelled of apples-- telling Heikyn that it was hand-carved from the local orchards and built to withstand weight. The sheets appeared to be very well taken care of; washed but hardly ever used. The silken threads used in the comforter were still intact and tight. There were no yellowing stains or anything to prove that anyone had been in this room, other than family, before them. Evangelica, despite the snow, was dressed quite lovely. She had been wearing a set of white thin robes with gold, intricate embroidery. Her version of cold-weather clothing had been nothing more than the same sort of fabric lined underneath with white lynx fur threaded with mystic thread.

Unlike her gruff, Dwarfish companion, Evangelica was taller; her figure lithe for the exception of her forming breasts and hips. While her face was undoubtedly lovely: cream-colored skin, jewel-like blue eyes and long, thick, light-champagne blonde locks; she looked no older than perhaps sixteen. As he opened his mouth to question her, she unwrapped the thick scarf from her head to reveal two, long, slender ears, Unlike Kal’dorei ears which were thick and set back on the head, hers were thinner and stood pointing more upright. It answered at least one question for him, but, it lead to so many more.

“Ye’re an elfie?” Heikyn asked, looking her over. She was so adorably frail-- like a porcelain doll placed in his care by the gods themselves.

“Yes.” she responded almost too quietly. Instinctively her hands reached up to softly bend and tug on her ears. He could tell something about her lineage bothered her. From what little he knew of the elfish community from Quel’Thalas and Quel’Danas, they were in a civil war amongst themselves because of the loss of their precious Sunwell. Many of the Quel’dorei who made that place home were now following this Prince Kael’thas into finding more sources of magic to feed from-- sources that seemed to be allowing more demons into Azeroth than anyone wanted. Those who wished to be purified of their thirst for mana and retain their Quel’dorei heritage were being destroyed and their numbers dwindled daily. This girl was found far from those lands. Perhaps she was running from them?

“Wha’s a nice lass li’ you doin’ in th’ snow so far from ‘ome?” Heikyn asked, fishing his cherry wood-carved pipe from his belt. He stuffed it full of tobacco and peace bloom before slowly lighting it. He was well aware that lighting such things too quickly lasted equally as long. When he peered to Evangelica through the wisps of smoke that fluttered up from his pipe, he noted a small look of confusion to her face. She understood some words in the common tongue, but the rest seemed to escape her comprehension. Heikyn couldn’t speak a lick of Thalassian, so this would prove to be difficult.

Sighing a bit he motioned to the bed and then to her. “Ye can sleep on th’ bed. Ye’ll come back with me t’ Ironforge. Bronzebeard will know wha’ t’ do with ye. In the meantime, get some sleep, aye?” Evangelica seemed to understand that much. With a nod of thanks, she snuggled into the mass of pillows and began to find herself drifting into sleep. Heikyn took a little while longer to make his bed among the plush chairs. A little miffed that he couldn’t sleep in the first soft bed he had seen in weeks, he felt it was the right thing to do-- not scare the young maiden into believing he was some kind of pervert. Then again, she was also the first pretty maiden he had seen in years, so hormonally, he was feeling a little perverted.

It was still a long way from dawn when the door to their room slid open. The backings from where the screws held the lock in place were easily slid away. The innkeeper peeked inside at the couple. A gruff whisper piped up, “I doubt they’re married.”

“He probably kidnapped her for money,” another spoke softly from the shadows.

“What if we took her from him and forced him to pay for her return?” There was silence as they pondered that concept. Before there was a confirmation or debate on the matter, the innkeeper and two young men quietly entered the room. The innkeeper hovered over the right, while one stood to the left and the other at the foot of the bed. The men looked to one another as if questioning what to do next.

“If I’d ‘a kidnapped ‘er, do ye think she’d be sleepin’ soundly in tha’ bed alone?” Came Heikyn’s voice from the pile of clothes and Dwarf adjacent the bed. He didn’t bother to tilt his head up to look at the men; the sounds of their shoes and the forced slowing of their breathing told him everything. Two of the men paused cold. They had only been party to this because the innkeeper said the young woman was strikingly beautiful. Finding a female like that around these parts, who wasn’t torn apart by time or unsavory profession was a rarity. Especially to find one in the clutches of a secretive Dwarf.

“If I were ye, I’d back away from th’ lass an’ exit th’ room in th’ same manner in which ye entered it: quietly, so ye don’ wake the biddy.” Heikyn warned as he remained eerily still in his chair.

“What if we don--.” the man began to speak as if to challenge Heikyn, just as Evangelica began to stir in bed. While she wasn’t cognitively aware of what was going on around her, there was no denying the natural vibe that ran up and down her spine. She could feel the air around her thicken with many different and unfamiliar smells.

“Dwarf?” the young Quel’dorei whispered softly. Through a somewhat sleepy haze, she noted a bulky shadow at the side of her bed.

“Go back to sleep, Eve.” Heikyn commanded. She could immediately tell the bulky shadow wasn’t the Dwarf-- considering the warning and distance in his voice. This immediately sobered Evangelica from her slumberous state. With a squeak she pulled her body into herself and against the headboard. At Evangelica’s shift, Heikyn rotated his own muscular form from a reclined position to a slightly crouched one. If any of the men even flinched wrong, Heikyn would be sure to pounce on them with a swiftness that was nearly unheard of for a Dwarf.

“No one seems t’ ‘ave any respect fer a veteran o’ th’ Silver ‘An’ anymore.” Heikyn grumbled as he shook his head. One of the men leaned back a bit at the newfound information presented to them.

“I’m not about to disrespect a Paladin of the Silver Hand,” the man announced as he put up his hands and started to exit the room. The innkeeper, not impressed by the Dwarf’s sudden entitlement, grabbed the man who was leaving and chuckled toward Heikyn.

“You’re no Paladin of the Silver Hand. Why aren’t you up there in Lordaeron with the rest of them? Why don’t you bear their colors?” The innkeeper asked, keeping his white-knuckled grip on the second man’s sleeve. The second man frowned, wrenching his arm away from the innkeeper.

“I go’ a wee bit sidetracked,” Heikyn motioned to Evangelica.

“Well, let us do the Silver Hand a favor and put you back on the right track.” The innkeeper slowly reached downward through the shadows to find a good grip on the young woman still in the bed. As the man got close enough to where Evangelica could smell the sickeningly sweet lavender liquor on his breath, she simply starred back at him. For a moment that seemed to last an eternity, the man was captivated by the young woman’s eyes. Heikyn found himself hesitating as well. Through the darkness, the young woman’s fingertips slowly began to spark with an ethereal glow-- a soft, off-white color that carried a hint of gold about it. Her aura seemed to curl and grow until it filled the room with an intoxicating smell of vanilla and fresh air. The blue of her eyes waned until they matched the same calming, yet powerful hue of her fingertips. When her rose-colored lips parted, and she began to speak in Thalassian, it was as if all of the negativity in the room was being erased-- exorcised. She placed her palms in the Lotus Position; palms facing skyward as her chin tilted up as well; somehow she was communing with the Light itself. A medium. A gateway. The Quel’dorei’s prayer was as a song to them; easing their minds and relaxing their bodies. All time, to the men in the room, seemed to still and become peaceful.

As she finished her prayers, she looked to the innkeeper and placed her hands on his cheeks. “Sinu’amore.” was all she said to make the man smile and nod as if he understood. Heikyn watched in awe as the men stood up and left; kissing Evangelica on her palms as if she had saved them from some unseen evil. When the door had been shut, Heikyn immediately moved toward it to lock it again. Turning up the small oil lamp in their suite, he wanted to take a better glance at the young woman he was sharing space with. Unlike in the dark, she now looked like an ordinary elfish female, just tired and a bit out of sorts from the ordeal. Smiling tenderly, she motioned to a vacant space on the bed and moved over slightly.

“Oh, ye wan’ me t’…” Heikyn flushed a little under his beard as he set the lamp down on the bedside table. Grunting a bit, he cautiously slid into the bed beside the young woman and remained on his back. Evangelica gave him space, but was kind enough to drape a warm blanket over him as if to thank him for what he did.

Wait a moment! She’s bein’ nice t’ me and I didn’ do a damn thing! Heikyn turned slightly to peer over to the young woman in the dim light. Not wanting a repeat of earlier events, he decided to sleep with a small bit of light in their favor. Surprisingly, Evangelica was already peacefully back to sleep as if nothing had happened. Sure is a strange lass, I’ll give her tha’. Maybe it was no coincidence tha’ we were meant t’ meet…

The journey to Ironforge was both peaceful and emotionally turbulent. Heikyn Rhodes, while a respected Paladin among his peers, was going to have to do a lot of explaining as to why he would forego his mission to Quel’Thalas only to bring a Quel’dorei back to his people in the mountain. Rubbing the back of his neck, he knew he would have a lot more explaining to do if she had a repeat of the night they stayed in Hillsbrad. All the while, Evangelica seemed blissfully ignorant of the stares she was receiving. Not since the Third War had people been accustomed to seeing a pale-skinned elf with blue eyes. A stray Kal’dorei from Darnassus was more commonplace than one such as Evangelica. A few times Heikyn had suggested that she cover her head, explaining to people that she was an emissary for Tyrande and Varian. While this was unheard of, no one bothered to question it-- especially when Heikyn’s face began to redden.

Walking through the gates of Ironforge, Heikyn was immediately greeted by a swarm of cheerful Dwarves, all clad in different colored armor-- their respective tartans draped over their right shoulder. Evangelica, not entirely understanding the greetings, but understanding the emotions, backed off slightly.

“Heikyn! Ye ol’ bastard! Wha’ took ye so damned long?” Samli Anvilmar was the first one to ask-- leading every male Dwarf within earshot to rumble into uproarious laughter. It was so boisterous, one would think the sturdy supports inside Ironforge would tremble and break. “We would’ve ‘ad a party fer ye, but, ye took so damned long, we ‘ad the party without ye.” While Heikyn was enjoying the warm welcoming, he kept a close watch on Evangelica from the corner of his eye.

“Aye, well, it wouldn’t ‘ave had been much of a party any ‘ow.” Heikyn chuckled a bit as he shook the slap on the back from Samli.

“Why no--” Samli peered back to where Heikyn was looking so often. His jaw nearly hit the floor when he noticed Evangelica standing among the Dwarven and Gnomish crowd like a sore thumb. Most didn’t really seem to take notice of the young woman, mainly because they had become used to having to circumvent the tall Humans who would come through Ironforge for commerce. Now that she was truly looked at, the differences between her and the general Human population were far more noticeable.

“Don’ stare, ye git. Introduce yerself li’ a gent.” Heikyn pushed on Samli’s shoulders a bit; acting as if Evangelica were nothing more than another local girl.

“Heikyn, ‘ave ye lost yer damned mind? Ye wen’ t’ th’ lan’ o’ th’ ‘igh elves and came back with one?!” Samli hissed from behind his youthful beard. Heikyn merely rolled his eyes, attempting to make this meeting seem completely casual.

“I foun’ ‘er in a cave on me way back. I wasn’ about t’ let th’ poor lass die out there.” Heikyn admitted, motioning with his hand for Evangelica to approach them. Cautiously, she shuffled her feet toward the men. “Evangelica, this is Samli the Git. Sammy, this is Evangelica.” Still hesitant to touch her, Samli bowed his head slightly. After giving her the proper greeting, Samli looked her over. Just as all of the tales had been told of Quel’dorei, she was strikingly beautiful but very demure. He could tell by her movements that she was still in her formidable years, but she could still stop a man with a single glance.

“So, wha’ do ye plan on doin’ with ‘er?” Samli asked, finally able to steal himself away from Evangelica’s form. Heikyn shrugged slightly as he began to walk toward his home. Being the wealthy Paladin he was, he found that real estate speculation was a lucrative hobby. While he owned many houses, he leased most of them out to shop keepers and men with growing families. There were only two that he kept for himself-- a small, bungalow-like apartment in the Military Ward and a lovely one-bedroom flat in the Mystic Ward. As Heikyn walked away, Evangelica followed almost obediently. She understood some common tongue, but not enough not to feel as though she didn’t need Heikyn as a guide in some way.

“Well, I assume th’ council will wan’ t’ see me now tha’ word of my arrival is spreadin’. I’ll take ‘er before ‘em and see wha’ they’d li’ t’ do with ‘er.” Heikyn announced, rubbing his lower back as he pushed open his door with the rounded edge of his boot. Samli cocked his furry brow at the prospect of Heikyn Rhodes going with any decision the council made.

“Ye aren’ serious, are ye?” Samli had to ask as he allowed Evangelica to enter the small house before himself. Heikyn, turning to ensure she was behind him and unscathed, ushered her to sit at a table nearest the kitchen. Amused with everything around her, she took to an apple and a pairing knife. Heikyn set her to work, figuring he could keep her occupied for a moment if she were making him dinner; he was hungry, after all. As Evangelica got to work, Heikyn took Samli upstairs to speak.

“I’m no’ sure wha’ I should do, Sammy.” Heikyn admitted, raking his plump fingers through thick, dark locks of hair.

“Ye can’ keep ‘er. I’m sure th’ lass ‘as family tha’ misses ‘er.” Samli spoke in such a way that it sobered Heikyn out of his dream state. Nodding a bit, he stood in silence as he thought over and over how to explain her presence to the Dwarven community and how he never actually reached Quel’Thalas.

“I do not have any family,” Evangelica piped up from the edge of the staircase. Somehow, she had quietly ascended the stairs and must have overheard their conversation. Heikyn blinked to the young woman and stood attempting to figure out the best route for a response.

“No family? Then wha’ were ye doin’ out in th’ snow, lass?” Samli asked a little miffed that she could understand them this whole time.

“I did not want what my people wanted. I got lost in the great shift.” She sighed softly, stiffening a bit at the embarrassment of getting herself lost that badly. Heikyn nodded. He knew that many of the Quel’dorei that had fought for their home from the Scourge siege had decided to leave for other lands; places where they could not be found, and live out their lives as they wanted. There was a great separation between families in the Quel’Thalassian community. Many who survived chose to stay and defend their homeland, finding new sources of magic to feed from. The few who felt their home was beyond repair, decided to leave for secluded lands to rebuild their broken lives. Evangelica’s family had been one that possibly fell under in the great war-- leaving the young woman behind to make her own choices.

“Wha’ did ye no’ wan’, lass?” Heikyn asked, lowering his voice slightly in order to keep the young Quel’dorei calm.

“I did not want to become addicted, like them.” she added with a long sigh. Heikyn nodded softly as he began to rub the back of his neck. The moment left room for an awkward silence that no one seemed to care for.

“Now wha’ will ye do, Heikyn?” Samli asked.

“Can’ send ‘er back there, can I? I’ll keep ‘er ‘ere and train ‘er meself.” Heikyn announced with little interruption to the thought. Samli’s eyes widened a bit as he peered nervously between Evangelica and Heikyn.

“’Ave ye though’ of wha’ tha’ would do? Heikyn, ‘ow d’ ye know wha’ she’s capable of?” Samli huffed and puffed a bit. He knew Heikyn was capable of training any Human, Dwarf or Gnome better than most. What Samli also knew of Heikyn was that he was a tough man-- not letting up even for something as fatal as a missing limb. Here he was discussing training a young woman who looked too frail to even use a kitchen knife properly; naturally, this prospect scared Samli a little. If word got around that he harmed this little Quel’dorei, war among the elves and Dwarves would surely break out.

“I think she can ‘andle it jus’ fine, Sammy.” Heikyn smiled to Evangelica, awaiting her response to the idea. Before Evangelica could respond, Samli looked the young woman over and sighed.

“We’ll see.”

The years passed on. Despite the council’s urging Heikyn to send the young maiden back to her people, Heikyn and Evangelica formed a bond that neither of them could deny. Heikyn taught Evangelica everything from how to speak Common properly to how to wield a weapon. She had shown some signs of fear against a bladed instrument; anything bigger than a kitchen utensil, thusly, Heikyn found it more appropriate to teach her how to use a mace. Through the many triumphs and follies they had as teacher and student, Evangelica never seemed to stop impressing Heikyn with her abilities. While she wasn’t the battle-hardened Paladin that Heikyn has initially hoped for, she did not seem to be as fragile or as frail as a Priest.

“Cleric,” Samli shrugged as he and Heikyn watched over Evangelica’s motions-- her fluid movement with both mace and shield.

“Come again…” Heikyn asked, turning to arch a brow quizzically to Samli’s definition of the situation.

“Mebbeh she’s a cleric. Y’know, a natural ‘ealer fer the Ligh’?” Samli sat down on a nearby bench, continuing to watch the student exert herself. The length of time that Heikyn had been pushing her, he hadn’t once considered how quickly she managed to heal herself or her attribution to the Light itself. Shaking his head, he plopped down unceremoniously beside Samli, adjusting his oversized axe to compensate for his newfound girth. Since Evangelica became part of his life, he had gone from living the life of a bachelor to living the life of a pampered man. This young student of his cooked for him, cleaned up after him, even attended court sessions with him in order to further her study. Many of the male Dwarves were nit particularly appeased with Heikyn’s choice to allow his Quel’dorei “pet” to accompany him wherever he went, but no one dared to question it.

“I’ve been thinking’, Samli, now tha’ I’m gett’n older, I should consider settlin’ down and marryin’ a nice lass.” Heikyn sighed tenderly as he unclipped his broad shoulder guards from his person. Samli looked to the elder Dwarf and tucked his chin against his chest slightly.

“Ye ain’ think’n of askin’ Eve, are ye?” He asked in a hushed tone. Heikyn shrugged slightly before turning to watch his pupil. In just three short years, she had blossomed from a frail, demure little wallflower to a very strong-willed young woman. The places on her body where bones once peeked through her ivory-colored skin were now filled in with lean, taut muscle. Her awkwardly wide hips and slender chest were now perfectly sculpted with breast tissue and a perky supply of supple fatty tissue. She was still lean, but she was rosy and healthy. Her champagne-colored locks were pulled back in a thick, ever-so-slightly loose ponytail that complimented her heart-shaped face and full lips.

“How’re ye feelin’ out there, Eve?” Heikyn shouted out to her.

“A little tight, Rhodes.” Evangelica responded, allowing her mace arm to droop slightly as her shield hand began to reach up to rub the offending shoulder.

“Well, if ye put less emphasis on th’ beginning of th’ arc and more on the follow-through, ye’d be less tigh’.” Heikyn scolded in a soft tone, arching his brow to the girl as if she knew better. Rolling her eyes to him and smiling, she went back to work on her throwing motions with the mace.

Still looking to Heikyn, Samli couldn’t let the prospect of Heikyn’s desire to be married, drop suddenly. “Are ye really ginnae ask Eve t’ marry ye?”

“I just might.” Heikyn spoke under his breath.

The Mark of Love and War (OOC)

Okay, so the first attempt at this was a failsauce. Things got mixed that shouldn't have and I want to try this again (but without all of the mumbo-jumbo that happened before).

For those of you unfamiliar with the first version, I'll repost the long-ass story.

In the beginning....
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Man had machines. Over the course of many years, man had learned to make the machines into deadly weapons-- their sole purpose was the use of warfare. Unlike the Cold War, where weapons were created in case someone made a move, this war involved the creation of mechanised robotics and weaponry that would have a purpose. Through the course of ten years, the war that started out as a small argument between different countries soon turned into an all-out war. Not one country was neutral to the fight. All men were called to arms. Those who could not serve were employed to the United Empire to build machinery for use in the war. While history would call this World War Three, it was better known as the Great Disaster.

When the smoke had cleared, and the bodies littered the ground, it was established that war was no longer the answer, since Mankind could no longer supply the necessary manpower to continue. In order to preserve life, the warring ceased and those who survived scattered across the post-apocalyptic land. Those that remained loyal to the United Empire and its CEO Justicar Quimby, began to rebuild life. Most of the Earth, while parched and somewhat void of life, still had some areas that seemingly remain untouched by the scars of war or drought. In these areas, the corporation implemented their form of a 'democratic' government and began to plant the seeds of new civilizations.

In this time, United Empire was the sole creator of many daily life things-- everything from washers and dryers to cannons, even mechanized robotics. In the areas that were able to sustain existence, four major cities, under the jurisdiction of the corporation, began to spring and flourish. These cities included: Helios City (which comprised of the northern portion of the Americas), Racine (the islands formerly known as Japan and those that trailed along to Hawai'i), Charleston (the center of Europe between the old borders of Germany and France) and St. Alexandretta (what would have been a good portion of the Middle East and some of Africa).

Inside of these large, bustling cities; the people who called these places home found peace, tranquility and a form of complacency. There was just one problem....

Not everyone who survived the Culling of the Earth (as it was sometimes refered to) wished to be under the strict thumb of the United Empire corporation. Those that wanted to separate themselves lived outside the cities in areas that were labeled as 'plagued lands' or 'parched lands.' Those that lived outside of them were called Outlanders. These people were seen as unclean, unworthy, ill-educated and often crass people who wished for only chaos. While those in the city saw them in this light, the Outlanders themselves were quite happy in their fragile universes-- compiling themselves into four major, somewhat nomadic tribunals: Bleeding Hollow (those closest in proximity to Helios City), Firestorm (those closest to Racine), Myglaen (those closest to Charleston) and Servius (those closest to Alexandretta).

The reason these people had not been erradicated or assimilated was because although the United Empire made excellent income with their major cities, they sought to expand outwardly. As anyone knows, cities that solely rely on themselves for everything slowly deplete their natural resources. The Outlander tribes still had claim to many of the outter resources, to which, the Empire so desperately sought for. In order to keep things from turning into another war the Empire created treaties with the tribes. The treaties dictated that the Outlanders could use resources from the cities so long as the corporation could "borrow" resources from their lands.

While everyone was in agreement, at first, these treaties did not last long. In fact, they were broken time and time again. The corporation was becoming too greedy for its own good. While its complacent citizens figured the bickering was because the Outlanders were simply being inhumanly stingy with their resources, they were unaware that the corporation had been raping the land and stealing lands that were specifically given to the Outlanders as sanctified earth for their own, personal use.

Where you come in...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In this roleplay you can be from any number of factions. The premise is that you are a student in an academy (and these are normal, everyday schools-- nothing explicitly fancy about them) and you have a secret identity. In this time period there are mechanized robots. They are robot suits that you can pilot-- so assume they're a good eighty times bigger than you.

The two factions that you will be closely working with (or against as the case may be) are:

1. The Black Knights. This elite group of boys and girls are those who wish to see the rule of the United Empire supplanted and free the world to dictate its governments for itself as it had before the war. They wish for peace. Should you choose to work for them, you will keep your identity in this faction a secret. The only ones who know of you are those who are in it. Your leader is Jowy's character Nick.

2. The Sand Corsairs. This group of mismatched mechanical whizzes are those who think that the world is too far gone to save. Assuming that the world needs to fend for itself as the Outlander tribes do, they seek to bring chaos to the cities and pray that it will shake people free of their complacency. Again, the only people who know you are working for this gang of "thugs" will be those who are part of it. Your leader is Sayuri's character Remy.

3. Independents. You pretty much decide what you want to do-- like a mercenary.

(NOTE: While this is futuristic, please try to limit cyborgs.)

Character Sheets....
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Character Name:

2. Gender:

3. Age: (Keep in mind you are meant to be a student. The highest age we want to see is 25 and the lowest is 16, since romance will be something of a factor in this genre)

4. Faction: (Empire Sympathist / Outlander Sympathist / Independent Thinker. This will not necessarily dictate the group you decide on)

5. Name of Your Mecha:

6. What does your mecha do?:

7. A little history:

(Hope you all enjoy this!)

Who is Richard the Mage?

I have taken some time to figure out a few things here and there about Richard. While doing this, in an attempt to get into the author's mindset, I was drinking vast quantities of Red Bull while fantasizing about becoming a super hero (who wields a chainsaw).

Richard is assumed by those around him to be evil.
Richard has been known to commit acts of good and kindness, despite his callous manner.
Richard is dead (doy!)
Richard knows vast amounts of Dark Magic

This is enough to start with, I believe, so now to focus less on what he is, and instead on who he is.

I have a few interperetations of who exactly Richard is, spouting mostly from things I have seen before, and others that I wish I had seen before.

The first would be that he has a Kami/Piccolo relationship with the ArchMage.

This would explain why they work together, as if one were destroyed, so would the other. This also explains why they are semi-kind to one another.

I found this theory mostly on what happened to Kami and Piccolo in DragonBall Z.

QUOTE

They were originally one being named King Piccolo. Some things happened here and there, I think a kid was born and whatever, but then King Piccolo became two separate yet linked halves. A good half (Kami) became a sort of protector of the earth (much like the ArchMage protects Kethenecia) and the evil half (Piccolo) became a villian seeking to cause chaos, mostly for the hell of it (Richard, anyone?).

Eventually, Piccolo (Richard) became good-ish, helping out the Z-Warriors (Cale and friends) in their quest. However, it seemed that Piccolo (Richard) was still mostly evil, kidnapping Gohan (delaying the brothers, and allowing the Bloodrage to fall) just to make the situation more to his liking. Kami (ArchMage) didn't like this, but remained silent.

Eventually, due to some crazy ass Saiyans (the Sisters and Brothers), Piccolo (Richard) was killed. This caused Kami (Archmage) to also die, and the balls became inert (and the balls became inert).

Although that last bit was completely speculation with absolutely no basis in anything at all (they won't let Dick die).

I have a few more theories, but I want to know if anyone else has a theory that is rather creative. I would like to remind everyone that this topic is not for serious theories, just theories based on things that would be totally awesome even though there is little to no evidence of it at all.

Extra points if you can make it sound like it is sensible despite it not being so.

Richard Costume for Halloween

Well title description says it all, first time making a costume ever! It was actually incredibly fun considering the fact that i terrorized a lot of small children...even made a baby cry. Both felt sorry for the thing but also considered in making it into a baby wrap. This is basically a picture with me and ALL my friends, the Jawa costumes took those two a whole summer to craft. (yes, they made EVERYTHING in that costume.) I could have made a better mask but i didn't have the luxury of spending a lot of time on it. it was a last minute project with hardly any of the right materials. BUT, i'm satisfied with the result!
